BREAKING: Again, Tribunal Steps Down Peter Obi’s Petition Over Poor Schedule Of Documents

For the third time, the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, was forced to step down hearing in the petition filed by Mr Peter Gregory Obi and the Labour Party, LP, against the election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The petition was stepped down by the court following a poor schedule of documents being sought to be tendered to establish the allegations of malpractices during the February 25 presidential election.

At Thursday’s proceedings, the court discovered that the documents were not properly scheduled as ordered by the Court.

In the drama that ensued at the point of rendering the documents from the 23 local government areas of Benue, a lot of discrepancies were uncovered.

All efforts to reconcile the anomaly and reschedule the documents were unsuccessful as the errors were beyond immediate solution.

To save the situation, counsel to Obi and the Labour Party, Chief Emeka Okpoko SAN, sought to use documents not filed to conduct the proceedings, but the move was rejected on the ground of illegality.

In the end, the court stepped down hearing of the petition and ordered the legal team to go and re-file the schedule of documents in line with the provisions of the pre-hearing report.

The hearing of Obi’s petition had run into stormy waters three times, prompting the shift in the hearing of the petition.

At the time of this report, Peter Obi and the Vice Presidential candidate, Datti Baba Ahmed, were in the court as their lawyers were running helter and skelter to the Registry of the Court to file a new schedule of documents.

Meanwhile, the five Justices led by Justice Haruna Simon Tsammani hearing the petition have retired to their chambers to await when the legal team will put its house in order.

Peter Obi Congratulates Students Of Anambra School For Coming Second Place In World Affairs Challenge

He wrote: “I congratulate the Nigerian students from Queen of the Rosary College, Onitsha, who clinched second place in the just concluded World Affairs Challenge, which is an international competition for high school students, aimed at developing and implementing their own S.M.A.R.T. solutions for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The Nigerian students reportedly carried out innovation in Queens’ Lyfe bags – a 100 per cent plantable biodegradable bag made from rice straws, banana fibres, and corn husks and infused with tomato, pepper and watermelon seeds such that the bags can grow into plants when disposed of.

It is for millions of smart youths like these in our country that we remain resolute in building a New Nigeria centred on innovation and productivity, where people's skills will match their opportunities in life. The young students have brought honour to the nation through their smart idea which is very beneficial to the environment.

I celebrate them, their teachers, and millions of youths across the nation who are involved in different productive enterprises. Together we will build the New Nigeria of our dreams.”

Peter Obi Follower Reveals What He Told A Tinubu Supporter Who Begged Him For Money To Return To His Base After He Went To Abuja For Inauguration And Became Stranded Because Of Transport Fare Surge

Uchechukwu Elechi wrote: “One of my not so close friends who happens to be a staunch Tinubu supporter went to Abuja for inauguration but somehow he's now stranded because of the increase in transportation fares as a result of fuel subsidy removal and he is begging me, an Obidient Peter Obi supporter, to help him with transport money to come back to his family 😀😂Why me bro? Why not MC Oluomo?

I quickly asked him which family he wants to come back to in case I didn't hear well? He said the family he left in Port Harcourt na.

I sha reminded him that his family house is in Aso Rock and is even close to him than Port Harcourt. I advised him to just go there and shout “Emilokan”, they'll show him his room. This man come dey ask me which kind advice be that na?

As a good man that I am, I also gave him another option; I asked him to go to any nearest bus park and shout “I am BATified”, the driver of the vehicle will not only carry him to Port Harcourt, but he'll make sure to bring him to his house.

As he was just about to say “Senior man, no vex na”...I ended the call.

Did I do anything wrong?”

BREAKING: Governor Otti Announces Immediate Suspension Of Levies In Abia State

Governor Alex Otti has directed the immediate suspension of all kinds of Transport Levies payable to Abia government and imposed on Tricycles (Keke), Buses, Taxis and other commercial vehicles plying Abia roads.

Otti who recalled how he promised to sanitize methods of revenue collection in the state and stop all kinds of extortion, intimidation and harassment of motorists during the governorship campaigns, stated that the suspension takes immediate effect and will remain until government reviews these levies and makes public its arrangements for the smooth, organized and transparent collection of such transport Levies in a manner that would not lead to extortion, intimidation and violation of rights and privileges of Abia residents.

The Governor in a statement released by his media aide, Ferdinand Ekeoma on Wednesday, May 31, said the present method is archaic and very harmful to the lives of the people and the economic well-being of the state, and thus should not be allowed to continue.

All those involved, directly and indirectly in revenue collection have been asked to discontinue forthwith, or face the wrath of the law, as security agents have been briefed and directed to apprehend and bring to justice anyone found violating this directive.
