The insecurity in West Africa is causing a lot of trouble but the leaders are never willing to see what's coming ahead and therefore, undermining democracy in the region.
ECOWAS want peace and they didn't prepare for war. It doesn't work that way.
The military leaders of exiting countries are enjoying their power and it won't be easy to ask them to handover to democratic rule. Not when they're being deceive by the devil himself, Vladimir Putin.
Their people may be going through tougher times but they won't care as long as they remain leaders of their various countries.
