Some states leaders are not interested in developing their own state with their own effort. It is completely unacceptable to not collect VATs in your state but want to share in the VATs collected from other state. It is not proper. The Tax Reform Bill must be passed and signed into law

It should not be totally withdrawn, there's room to refix the contending parts of the bill. Every region stands to gain a lot from tax reform bills. It is time for the federal lawmakers to use their brains if they have any. We can't keep feeding Northern Nigeria when they bring virtually nothing to the table.

This food sharing is what this woman is calling an initiative? Why

1) sharing a few 1000s bag of rice to a state with millions of people would not make any difference what so ever

2) the cost of her traveling to share this food is probably more than the value of the food being shared

So how does this make any sense?

The more I read about Edun, the DUMBER he sounds.

First of all, THREATENING people to bring their USD to the bank is STUPID. Adding a deadline makes it even MORE stupid.

He did NOT specify a punishment after the deadline because there is practically NO way to enforce the order.

Dollars outside the banking system is Dollars you DON'T know about. So there's NTHING he can do if people refuse to bring it in.

Only result of this SILLY policy would be another ASTRONOMICAL increase in the price of USD. Which is in line with other FOREX policies implemented by Tinubu and this fool.

Plus, NOBODY will trust banks with a reasonable amount of money.

Firstly because Nigerian banks are USELESS. You put your money in the bank and they accept it EAGERLY. But to withdraw same money would be like plucking teeth from a Hot lion.

Secondly, KNOWING the desperation of Tinubu and Edun and the rumours flying around since last year; there is a possibility that your USD would be FORCEFULLY converted into Naira.

Point is you can NEVER trust Nigerian banks with your FOREX.

Finally, 80% of Nigerians have NEVER seen or touched a FOREIGN note. 90% of the USD outside the banking system are held by POLITICIANS.

And there's NO way they'd submit their Ghana-must-go bags to ANY bank.
Otherwise, pepple like Ganduje would have a lot to EXPLAIN.

The North should remember the bandits and terrorists created by your leaders. Poor governance, out of school children, almajiri system, religious radicalisation, enslavement, and subjugation of the poor by ruling class.

The children you refused to train and educate years ago are the ones blowing up transmission towers. The ones you refuse to educate today will do the same in another 10 years. Go and read how ISIS targeted energy infrastructure in Libya and the consequences.

Stop blackmailing country and get to work. This format ended with GEJ. No one has denied the North any statutory financial allocation due to it. 80% of our military installations are in the North, 80% of our military budget is spent on the North, the North has development commisions. You have the schools, the universities etc. For once in your lifetime, look inwards and stop blaming the country.

This is a welcome development. General Olufemi Oluyede is a very gallant and competent officer who is well respected in the service. He will command the Army to the admiration of all officers and men of the Nigeria Army.
