The Federal Government of Nigeria needs to enact policies aimed at encouraging local manufacture of goods and services as well as more exportation of goods and services and discourage importation of good and services. This would go a long way to help generate more foreign currency inflows and strengthen the naira against the dollar.

OVERCOMING SHYNESS

Shyness is the fear or uneasiness brought on by other people, particularly in social situations or with strangers. It's a disagreeable sensation of self-consciousness brought on by a fear of what one might assume other people are thinking.

One's capacity to act or speak as they please may be hampered by this fear. It may also hinder the development of wholesome connections.

There are many different and intricate reasons why people become shy. Studies show that 15% of newborns have a predisposition toward shyness. It has also been noted that shy people's brains differ biologically.

But social interactions also have a big impact on how shyness develops. For example, children who grow up with authoritarian or overly protective parents may develop shyness. Youngsters who are denied experiences may struggle to learn social skills. When children are raised with warmth and compassion, they tend to be more socially comfortable. Adults who experience intense criticism at work or embarrassment in public may become bashful. Additionally, low self-esteem, negative self-preoccupation, and fear of rejection and judgment can all contribute to shyness. Strategies to get over shyness are outlined below:

a. Determine the cause of your shyness: There are a number of reasons why people become shy, including genetics, upbringing, past experiences, etc. Finding the right resources to transform your fear can be facilitated by determining the cause of your shyness. 1.

b. Acknowledge your shyness: One of the first steps toward conquering shyness is acknowledging it. It will persist longer if you resist it more. If you are shy, then own it and be completely comfortable with it.

c. Recognize your strengths: Everyone has particular advantages and disadvantages. Recognizing your advantages can help you become more self-assured and confident.

d. Set objectives: You can get over your shyness by making attainable goals. Set modest initial targets and progressively advance to more ambitious ones.

e. Engage in conversation: Engaging in conversation can assist you in getting over your shyness. Begin by enquiring and paying attention to what other people are saying.

f. Be genuine: You can get over your shyness by being genuine and true to who you are. Be yourself, don't try to be someone else.

g. Seek support: You can get over your shyness by asking friends, family, or a therapist for assistance. They are able to offer you support and direction.

h Make connections: Making connections with people can assist you in overcoming shyness. Getting involved in clubs or groups that interest you can facilitate social skill development and meet new people.

i. When therapy is necessary: You should consider counseling if your shyness is interfering with your day-to-day activities. Your shyness may be conquered and its underlying causes can be found with the assistance of a therapist.

I hope you can get over your shyness with these suggestions. Remind yourself that getting over your shyness takes time, so be gentle and patient with yourself.
