Closing the border was ill conceived! Absolutely no economic gain from the border closure. If you want to stop the importation or exportation of certain goods, place the custom officials at the borders and stop the restriction of commerce! Small businesses should be encouraged to thrive; and not scuttled! Nigeria already does not have enough multi cooperations to employ it's teaming youth population.

He was deceived by few individuals to close border to avoid competition thereby making life difficult for the masses. Okay, foreign goods are not coming into Nigeria and we can't afford local goods because of how expensive they are. Local goods are supposed to be readily available and affordable if the government is truly serious about encouraging local production and patronage.

The farmers are not producing enough due to insecurity and cost of production. The best is to import until we can comfortably feed ourselves. We are too weak to be living based on World bank/IMF recommendation.
