I doubt Israel is willing to agree any truce with Hamas. Israel believe all terrorist deserve death. They're even willing to risk the lives of people taken captives by Hamas while on the quest to eliminate Hamas.

Democracy is just an ideology, and ideology don't work on their own, it's human being that live out these ideologies. So I believe the problem is not democracy but the people who are voted in as a leader on the platform of democracy are not really practicing what it represents.
