Partnering with God to maintain your child?s spiritual health
It is God′s topmost desire that every child prospers in all areas of life, most importantly in their spiritual life.
He wants your child to be saved and to maintain a constant and cordial relationship with Him all through because in this lies his/ her all round prosperity.
However, as parents, you must partner with God to have this great goal achieved, as no one ever succeed in parenting without partnership with God.
Partnering with God to build and maintain a healthy spiritual life for your child implies you allowing God to use you for his/her conversion. Often times, many parents see the task of raising Godly children as very difficult and sometime, and an impossible one. This is because they fail to partner with God. They feel it is their sole responsibility to make sure their children are saved, so they sometimes forget or neglect God?s part.
They rely more on their own ability and skills. No wonder, many children are unconverted today. God has the power to save every child because His will is that all should be saved. Especially children, of whom he says have what it takes to part of the Kingdom.
Letting God assist you means partnering with Him prayerfully for the salvation of your child. See yourself as the medium through which God intends to reach that child, reveal Himself to him/her and establish a strong lasting relationship with him/her. Also it is through you He intends o strengthen and maintain this relationship by your personal example of studying the scripture, obeying them and daily communing with God in prayer.
Nevertheless, this partnership must begin with your own salvation as parents. God cannot partner with a sinner. If you are not born again, you can neither model the life of Christ nor lead your child to Him (Lk 6:39).
Moreover, take him/her to a bible believing church where you and the entire family are evangelized, nurtured through discipleship and worship God in spirit and in truth.
Furthermore, teach him/her the word of God at home, guide him/her in their choice of friends and get to know them personally. Above all. Pray for him/her daily, during your personal prayers and when you are with them.
If you do all these; With God on your side, as a trusted partner, you will successfully help your child maintain a healthy spiritual life.
