Just like the case of the one leper in Luke 17:10-19, that came back to give God thanks, God will always take a step further in the case of those who are thankful.
When a person becomes arrogant and begins to over exaggerate his/her strength, his/her importance his/her usefulness, he/she is preparing to be cast out of God's presence and withdraw from the cover of His mercy
It takes continuos uncompromising righteousness for a person to die the death of the righteous and have the end of the righteous. It does not come as a mere wish; it is a deliberate walk with God that will make one's end to be like that of the righteous

The temptations that confront a Man of God as he grows in grace and in the work of God is enormous; when his prayers get ready answers, when his presence coveys the presence of God to a meeting, when God confirms His Word in his mouth with definite results and when the Lord honours him and his pronouncements on the people as he did Samuel..... The temptation to become careless and take God for granted is real and almost overwhelming

Look up the stories of when when fell in the Bible
Balaam, Judas Iscariot, Samson, King David etc,
Notice that no one falls out of grace without series of warnings and divine attempts for his or her rescue. There will always be a kind of warning....most that fell, never hid to the warnings and signs
