Government should pay the money to individuals account through the CBN. Through Governors the money will not see the light of the day n it's high time Government stops all forms of monetary palliatives it's not happening the country.

What a clueless government. Allocating money to state governments with a view to tackling food scarcity, and rising inflation will only result in such money getting misappropriated or looted by corrupt governors. There is no better way to tackle the rising inflation in the country than setting up a price control regime and paying subsidy on essential food commodities with a view to checkmating price inflation. Nigeria is heading for the rocks if this government fails to do the right thing, and won't be wrong before this nation goes down the path of Venezuela and Zimbabwe.

Good initiative. Let farmers have direct impact and pay salary arrears, gratuity and pensioners based on what is meant for.
Let start from there. This money if adequately distributed will circulate within the state where skill and unskilled labors will be engaged including food vendors.

We focus too much on the center that is the reason state government are taking us for a ride. They collect allocation and change it to dollars and keep.

With all this spend and sharing, why not the federal government should buy grains in excess and sell in a very little amount to the masses where all other people hiding their grains will have no option than to bring theirs out and sell too. But what do I even Know.
