In Nigeria, beating or killing military officer always comes with deadly revenge from military personnel, many innocent people living in that vicinity where the incident happened, would be beaten, arrested or even killed, even their houses and other property are not let out in the destruction and burning but in Western countries, intelligence report will be used to fish out the perpetrators and they alone must face the music for beating or killing a military personnel.

I consider the policies purely neoliberal, anti-poor, and harmful. Lacking in social safety nets, they will inflict severe damage on the lives of the most vulnerable. There’s need to consider, and protect the majority of Nigerians who are being stretched beyond the limits and protect them from sliding further into generational poverty and misery. If one takes the NBS figures of 133 million multidimensionally poor seriously and add World Bank projections, they increase in number to approximately 144 million. It’s also possible to achieve high levels of economic growth hand in hand with huge inequality. This is counterproductive and cruel for the poorest of the poor. Economic policy making should be done as though people (the majority, and they are poor) mattered, not to feather the nests of the oligarchs.

This Ex Senator cannot justify his action in any logical manner. Once you saw the Governor in person and looking for seat, as a responsible high ranking person himself, protocol demands that he creates space for his Governor. Did he expect the Governor to be standing while he sat or did he expect the Governor to bribe him to take the seat? For this type of drama to ensue in a society where respect for elders, whom the person of the Governor of the state represents, leaves a sour taste in my opinion.
