BLACKOUT: A Reconciling to Nature
Frustrated hisses escaped my lips as I woke up to the reality of power outage, it's been 5 days already and we've been living like barbarians in the modern age, the power outage had a crippling effect for a student-filled environment. "When are they going to fix this?" I sighed, scrambling my hands in the dark to find my phone, it was 31 minutes to 6am, the area maintained a low noise as people were already up for the day's activities.
There is not much I can do but at least I won't sit and wail the whole day, I said a word of prayer and sprung out of bed, stretching with every morning energy left, I let out a loud yawn, "No hope for electricity, I will go charge-" I concluded and grabbed my charger.
Outside, I was unable to think clearly, it all felt like the outage was messing with my brain as well or maybe the morning hasn't kicked in yet. I went downstairs to ease myself into the soil of nature, that is the best place to be right now. Right there, I remembered an article about the benefits of standing barefooted on the ground, I gave it a try but quickly put my feet back into my slides.
"I've been away from nature for so long, is this how everyone lives now?" Feeling indifferent, I stood there reconciling with nature, maybe the blackout was for this purpose, "I have to start doing this often. But for now, I'll find a place to recharge my dying device."
