TOPIC: THE PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICES OF GREAT MEN

SCRIPTURE: Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Malachi 3:10.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Tithing is a ladder that godly men climb to access kingdom wealth.

It has been established that no one goes up and stays up by chance. Every great man went up and stayed up by godly principles. And one of the principles of great men is the principle of consistent tithing. Tithing is a ladder that godly men climb to access kingdom wealth.

Now, look at the following practical examples.

There was a man called J.C. Penney. He was born on September 16, 1875, and died on February 12, 1971 at the age of 95 years.

J. C Penney was taught by his mother how to pay tithe. He practised the principles of tithing that he learnt from his mother. Every dollar that he got, he paid the tithe of it. He was so consistent in tithing to the point that his business exploded.

But when he became rich, he stopped tithing. Then he crashed down to zero point and became bankrupt.

One day, he went to God and enquired why his business went bankrupt.
God told him, “Remember from whence thou art fallen.”

And he remembered and said: “Oh! It was the tithing of my organization’s income that brought me to this level.” So, he returned and tithed every income he got.

Within a short while, his business exploded financially again.

Today, J. C Penney stores, a multibillion dollar corporation, is scattered all over America. It took just a godly man, who learnt kingdom principles of tithing from his mother, to experience such explosive trans-generational wealth.

J. C Penney was a major influence on Sam Walton, the owner of Wal-Mart stores that spread around the whole of America.

Sam Walton’s family has the largest number of billionaires in the world today, and this Sam Walton was influenced by J. C. Penney, a devoted child of God.

The truth is, you cannot talk about the stability of the economy of America without mentioning the contributions of J. C. Penney stores or the Wal-Mart stores. And all these happened because of a man who was raised by God on the basis of Kingdom principles to be the head and not the tail, above only and never beneath.

REMEMBER THIS: Tithing is a ladder that godly men climb to access kingdom wealth.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to practice the principles of kingdom wealth so you can access kingdom wealth.
2. Be consistent in tithing; practice it by revelation and not by coercion.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to practice the principle of tithing. Help me to be consistent in my covenant practices, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

QUOTE: Be committed to the practice of tithing. If you are ready for the overflow, be committed to the practice of tithing, the covenant practice of tithing.

AMAZING FACT: An elephant's trunk can grow to be about 2 metres long and can weigh up to 140 kg.

TOPIC: A LESSON FROM THE UPRIGHTNESS OF JOB

SCRIPTURE: There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil …. this man was the greatest of all the men of the east. Job 1:1, 3.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Integrity is combinable with prosperity; righteousness is combinable with riches.

One character in the Bible who is synonymous with uprightness or righteousness is Job.
Concerning Job, the Scripture says, in Job 1:1-3:
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright, and one that feared God, and eschewed evil. And there were born unto him seven sons and three daughters. His substance also was seven thousand sheep, and three thousand camels, and five hundred yoke of oxen, and five hundred she asses, and a very great household; so that this man was the greatest of all the men of the east.
You see, Job was a perfect and upright man before God. He hated and eschewed evil; he avoided crookedness of life.
Now, this is the interesting part: beyond Job’s uprightness, the Scripture also reveals that he was the richest man in the East.
What lesson can we learn from the life of Job?
We can learn from Job’s life that integrity is combinable with prosperity; righteousness is combinable with riches. Job was upright and he was also rich.

Some people think that if you are holy, you cannot be wealthy. That is a lie from the pit of hell. Integrity does not reduce a man; iniquity does. The wealthiest people in Scriptures were also the holiest people. Uprightness is key to sustainable wealth.

God wants us to combine integrity with prosperity. Some Christians have integrity but lack prosperity. Even though they are holy, they are poor. This is not the will of God at all.
On the other hand, there are some who are rich but compromised their uprightness with God. But the life of Job has revealed to us that a child of God can be rich and yet be holy.

Beloved, the consequences of Job’s uprightness were riches and wealth. Therefore, desire to be upright in life.

REMEMBER THIS: Integrity is combinable with prosperity; righteousness is combinable with riches.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to expand the kingdom of God by uprightness and prosperity.
2. Do not compromise your Christian standards to be rich.
3. Make up your mind to combine riches with holiness; prosperity with integrity.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to combine prosperity with integrity under You. Help me to be a perfect example of an ideal and exemplary Christian, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: PROPHET SAMUEL’S CHALLENGE TO ISRAEL

SCRIPTURE: Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand. 1 Samuel 12:3, 4

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The boldness of your financial integrity guarantees the solidity of your future.

In Scripture, we understand that Prophet Samuel was one prophet who was mightily used of God. He had such a strong prophetic accuracy that the Bible records that none of his words fell to the ground. This means, every word of he spoke came to pass.

Prophet Samuel was the one who anointed King Saul and King David and brought them to limelight. He bore the burden of God and that of the nation of Israel in his time.

Now, one secret of Prophet Samuel was his upright living. Samuel was so holy and upright that he threw up a challenge to the whole congregation of Israel one day.

What was the challenge?

1 Samuel 12:3, 4, says:
Behold, here I am: witness against me before the Lord, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose ass have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or of whose hand have I received any bribe to blind mine eyes therewith? and I will restore it you. And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken ought of any man's hand.

In essence, Samuel seemed to be challenging the whole assembly of the people of Israel that anyone among them who felt he had cheated him or her should openly walk forward and say it, but there was none.

What a challenge!
What integrity of life!
What a boldness and audacity of uprightness!
What a cleanliness and purity of life!

That was Prophet Samuel’s challenge to the children of Israel.

Like Prophet Samuel, the boldness of your integrity is the guarantee for the solidity of your future and destiny.

The boldness of your financial integrity guarantees the solidity of your future.

The question is, how many people today can put forth such a challenge of integrity like Samuel did?

REMEMBER THIS: The boldness of your financial integrity guarantees the solidity of your future.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Like Prophet Samuel, can you throw up a challenge of upright living to your neighbours?
2. Ask God for the grace to live without spots in your generation just like Samuel did.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You establish and enlarge my life on the ground of righteousness. I receive the boldness of uprightness. Deliver me from every temptation of compromise and crookedness, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: PUTTING YOUR “LOT” BEHIND TO ACCESS YOUR LOT IN GOD.

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
Genesis 13:14-15.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot access your lot in God until you put your “Lot” behind you.

You are welcome to the Month of March, the third month of the Year 2024. In this third month, I decree that God shall cause you to experience greater heights in life, in Jesus’ Name.

It has been confirmed that everyone has a lot or portion in God. However, not everyone can access their portion in God.

Now, what do you do to access your lot or portion in God?
It is to put your “Lot” behind you.
Look at what God told Abraham in Genesis 13:14-15:
And the Lord said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.
You see, God only told Abraham to lift up his eyes and look after he (Abraham) had put Lot behind him.

The truth is, you cannot access your lot in God until you put your “Lot” behind you. You cannot access your portion in God until you put your “Lot” behind you.
Your “Lot” may be a business type, a relationship, an association, a connection or anything that takes your time without adding value to your life, just as Lot did not add any value to Abraham’s life.

Do away with anyone or anything that strives with you just as Lot strove with Abraham. Anything that strives with you to take you away from your God or take your vision from you is your “Lot”. Anything or anyone that occupies your time instead of God and your vision, is your “Lot”, and you must put it behind you.
Abraham could not see his lot until he put “Lot,” his nephew behind him. Until you put your “Lot” behind you, you cannot access your lot or portion in God.
Do not respect anyone or anything enough to allow them tamper with your portion in God. There are things you must put behind you if you must lay hold on what is ahead of you. Identify those things and put them behind you.

REMEMBER THIS: You cannot access your lot in God until you put your “Lot” behind you.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Identify your “Lot” or what to put behind you.
2. Make determined effort to put them behind you so you can access your lot or portion in God.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You open my eyes to see what to put behind me so I can access what is ahead of me. Open my eyes to see where you are taking me to, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: Making the Most of a New Season.

QUOTE: Do not spend the money that enters your hand until God has been given His portion. That portion is what is called ‘the tithe’.

DAILY READING: 2 Samuel 1-4.

AMAZING FACT: Male elephants would leave the herd as they become adolescent, around the age of 12, and live in temporary "bachelor herds" until they are matured enough to live alone.

TOPIC: YOUR SENSE OF VALUE AND YOUR VALUE IN LIFE

SCRIPTURE: 3...Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4...Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch. GENESIS 49:3-4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A person is never valuable until he has a sense of value.

It has been established that self-control is key to destiny realisation. A life without self-control is a destiny out of control. The capacity to say “No” is critical in fulfilling destiny.

Many years ago, I met a possessed girl. While praying for her, she confessed that she had not been able to say “NO” to any man. She slept with every man that wanted to sleep with her. Even if that man was a mad man, it did not matter to her. That was a demonic operation.

This was one of the character flaws of Reuben! He had no destiny principles and guidelines.

Now, another character flaw of Reuben was that he lived with no sense of value. He did not value his father. He did not want to preserve or respect what belonged to his father; rather, he defiled his father’s bed. He had no value for his father or the God of his father. He had no value for his father’s name and reputation.

Today, there are many people who have no sense of value. When you see someone who is always on drinking and smoking sprees, such person has no sense of value.

A lady that stands by the roadside as a prostitute, and goes home with any man who desires her, has no sense of value. A person is never valuable until he has a sense of value. No one regards a harlot or an armed robber enough to want to listen to their advice.

My counsel is, have a sense of value so you can be valuable in life.

REMEMBER THIS: A person is never valuable until he has a sense of value.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to live without a sense of value.
2. Live a valuable life by maintaining a rigid sense of valuable.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to maintain the right sense of value. Help me to be valuable in life as I maintain godly principles, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: DOING GOOD – A ROUTE TO THE BLESSING

SCRIPTURE: So don't get tired of doing what is good. Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time. GALATIANS 6:9 (NLT).

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Doing what is good habitually and consistently is a pathway to the blessing.

A story was told of a young man who was a cleaner in an office. He came to the office before everyone else in the morning, and left after everyone had closed and gone for the day.

He never said, “I am not meant for this kind of work. I am just marking time here waiting for a better job,” but rather gave it everything that he had got; he gave his best to the job. He cleaned every office, and did every work that was assigned to him without complaining.

Then on a certain day, the Managing Director of the company called him and pointed an office to him with the instruction: “Clean that office for the General Manager. That is the office of the General Manager.”

When he was done cleaning the office, the Managing Director told him, “That is your office, and you are now the new General Manager of this company.”

Beloved, can you see the benefit of selfless and diligent service?

In another instance, a man, who lived abroad sent money to one of his contacts in Nigeria. He told the person, “Build for a house for me in my village, a house that I will live in.” He gave him the description of the kind of house he wanted.

Then the man went and built the house with all the energy he possessed. He built it and tastefully furnished it. He put every high-quality material he could gather. By the time he was done building the house, the owner returned and looked at everything he did, behold, it was of excellent quality.

When the man who built the house handed the house keys over to the owner (the man who lived abroad), he declined and said, “Take the keys. It is your house. I just wanted to prove you. I actually wanted to build a house for you. I wanted you to be the one to execute the project to see what you would do for yourself while thinking you were doing it for another person.”

You see, if the man thought he was doing it for someone else and put shabby roofing sheets and rotten wood on the roof, he would have cheated himself.”

Beloved, this is how life should be. You can get anything in life if you decide to be selfless and hard working. Doing what is good habitually and consistently is a pathway to the blessing.

REMEMBER THIS: Doing what is good habitually and consistently is a pathway to the blessing.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Make up your mind to do what is good always. Be selfless and generous in doing good.
2. Give your best in all you do, and be consistent and habitual in doing your best.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to be selfless in all that I do. Help me to deploy my best consistently and habitually, LORD, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: SIN RUINS SENSE

SCRIPTURE:
3. Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4. Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch. GENESIS 49:3-4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Nothing kills mentality like iniquity. Sin ruins sense.

It has been established that character determines destiny. Character affects potentials. Your character can bring either blessings or curses upon your life.

Previously, we saw how Reuben defiled his father’s bed and how that singular act brought a curse upon his life and generation.
In our Study today, we shall look at a major character flaw of Reuben.

Now, what is that character flaw that Reuben manifested?
Reuben operated with a lack of mentality.
He was not reasoning right, he wasn’t thinking correctly. He lacked mentality!

Reuben lacked mentality for sleeping with his father’s wife. Why did he not decide to go and marry at that point? The only woman he saw was his father’s wife. Nothing kills mentality like iniquity. Sin ruins sense.

Today, you see some people behaving senselessly and you will be wondering how they think. This is because their senses have been ruined by sin.

When you see a man who is married, but keeps other girls in five-star hotels and his wife and children are suffering at home, that is bankruptcy of mentality. There are some young unmarried men who are having serial immoral affairs; that is a manifestation of senselessness.
As a lady or a married woman, you have no sense if you go after either married or unmarried men. Iniquity makes you senseless. But that shall not be your portion in Jesus Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Nothing kills mentality like iniquity. Sin ruins sense.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. Refuse to ruin your sense through sin.
2. Live right to have sense and right mentality.

PRAYER: Lord, I refuse to ruin my sense through iniquity. I receive the grace to live right to attract divine wisdom, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: YOUR POTENTIAL AND YOUR CHARACTER

SCRIPTURE: 3. Reuben, thou art my firstborn, my, and the beginning of my strength, the excellency of dignity, and the excellency of power:
4. Unstable as water, thou shalt not excel; because thou wentest up to thy father’s bed; then defiledst thou it: he went up to my couch. GENESIS 49:3-4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Great potentials without character equal great disaster.

Previously, we saw how Reuben was cursed for sleeping with his father’s wife and defiling his father’s bed.

This clearly shows that a life without character is a life that is liable to curses. One of the greatest challenges that can confront anyone is to exist without character. To exist without character is to naturally exist under a curse.

No one needs to curse an armed robber. No one needs to curse a young lady who is donated to a life of prolific fornication and adultery.

You see, potentials without character equal frustration. Reuben had great potentials. He was the first born of Jacob, carrying the blessing of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, but for the lack of character, his potential was limited. Potential without character is inconsequential.

In our world today, there are many people who have great gifts, talents, and potentials but very minimal character. Frustration is the portion of anyone with great gifts without character on earth. Even eternity with God in heaven is not guaranteed for such people.

Great potentials with no character equal great disaster. You will not end like Reuben.

In order not to end like up Reuben, you must not only develop your potentials, you must also develop your character. Make up your mind to work on your character. Do not allow your character to bring curses upon you; let your character enhance your destiny. You shall end well in Jesus’ Name.

REMEMBER THIS: Great potentials with no character equal great disaster.

ASSIGNMENTS:
1. By all means, pay attention to your character.
2. Refuse to indulge in anything that will affect your destiny and bring curses upon you.
3. Work on your character as you work on your potentials.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to work on my character as I develop my potentials. Help me to attract your blessings to my life, and not curses, as I uphold positive character, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: YOUR TODAY, A SEED FOR YOUR TOMORROW.

Click here to WATCH today's #SeedsOfDestiny
https://youtu.be/Aohf6VWJdmg?si=4sSf4Yf9zs2TkMMz

SCRIPTURE: Seest thou a man that is hasty in his words? there is more hope of a fool than of him. PROVERBS 29:20.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your today is your seed for your tomorrow; you must give your best today to arrive at your best tomorrow.

It has been confirmed that excellence is key to prominence and eminence.
Giving your best is key to leaving where you are to where you want to be.

Your today is your seed for your tomorrow; you must give your best today to arrive at your best tomorrow. The seed of excellence you sow today determines the fruit of prominence you will reap tomorrow.

At your place of work, you must decide to give your best. Do everything you can today; give out everything you are able to give. Give out your very best. And when you give out your best consistently, it becomes a habit.

Anything that is your habit becomes your character, and anything that is your character eventually defines your destiny.

For example, Joseph had the character of hard work and concern for people. And this character brought him into the destiny of eminence and prominence.

When Joseph was taken to Potiphar’s house, he gave his best to his work as a servant. He kept working hard until Potiphar’s wife lied against him and he was sent to the prison.

In the prison, he gave his best to the task, ministering to the prisoners. He was concerned about the prisoners’ welfare. Whenever he saw a depressed prisoner, he would ask him “Why are you sad? Why are you looking dull? Why are you looking depressed?”

This continued until one day, the chief butler and the baker of Pharaoh, who were prisoners in the same prison, had separate dreams one night and were both troubled. Joseph interpreted their dreams.

One was restored to his work and the other was hanged by Pharaoh.

When Pharaoh had a troubling dream, it was the chief butler whose dream Joseph interpreted earlier that told Pharaoh about Joseph.

Joseph was taken out of the prison; he interpreted Pharaoh’s dream and was made the Prime Minister of Egypt. It was Joseph’s character that took him to the palace, the place of eminence and prominence.

Beloved, what you do today determines where you will be tomorrow.

REMEMBER THIS: Your today is your seed for your tomorrow; you must give your best today to arrive at your best tomorrow.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. Make up your mind to maximize your today.

2. Sow the seed of excellence today to have a eminence and prominence tomorrow.
