TOPIC: THE POWER OF LOVE.

SCRIPTURE: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If love is powerful, it means, you become powerful in life when you walk in love.

It has been confirmed that love is the most powerful force on the earth.

Love is the most powerful force because of the following reasons:

i. God Himself is love.

God is Love, and God is the most powerful Personality on the face of the earth. If God is love, then love is powerful.

ii. Love created the earth.

In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1). Since God is Love, this means, in the beginning, Love created the heavens and the earth.

iii. Love is stronger than death.

Song of Solomon 8:6 says,

Set me as a seal upon thine heart, as a seal upon thine arm: for love is strong as death;

Love is stronger than death.

In 1 Samuel 30:11-12, we saw a man who was about to die, but David and his servants found him and showed him love, and he came back to life. Indeed, love is stronger than death.

In John 8:3-11, a woman was caught in adultery and was meant to be stoned to death, but Love (Jesus, the Son of GOD) rescued her.

It was love that brought back Lazarus from the grave. (John 11:35-36). When Jesus wept, the people acknowledged how much He loved Lazarus. Jesus’ passion for Lazarus brought Lazarus back to life.

Love defeated the devil at the Cross of Calvary. Love defeated hell, death and the grave at the Cross.

Matthew 20:18-19 says,

Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

You see, hatred buried love, but love could not be buried. On the third day, Love resurrected.

If love is powerful, it means you become powerful in life when you walk in love. If love is this powerful, then it is important to walk in the realm of love.

Beloved, make up your mind to walk in love to connect the Nature and Power of God.

Remember this: If love is powerful, it means you become powerful in life when you walk in love.

ASSIGNMENT:

1. By all means, refuse to walk in hatred.

2. Ask God to saturate your heart with His love so you can walk in His Power and authority.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that you rid me of every spirit of hatred from my heart. I receive a fresh baptism of love, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: CHARACTER – EXISTENCE WITH POSITIVE CONVICTION.

SCRIPTURE: And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men. ACTS 24:16.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: People who lack character like Esau gain things that are temporal and lose things that are permanent.

It has been established that character is one essential ingredient of life and destiny. Your destiny is at the mercy of your character. To live right is to go up in life.

Now, what is character?
Character is existence with positive conviction, not for consensus.

People of positive character have positive conviction; they don’t live by consensus. Character is living for positive purpose, and not for pleasure.

Character is purposeful existence, and not pleasurable living. It is existence that is purpose-driven, and not pleasure-driven.

There are people whose lives are driven by pleasure. So, they can do anything as far as it makes them happy.

Character is living not just for the immediate, but for the ultimate. There are those who live with only today in mind. But people of character live with tomorrow in mind.

People of character don’t go for temporary gain and end in permanent loss. People who lack character like Esau gain things that are temporal, and lose things that are permanent.

A man of character will sacrifice today’s gain for tomorrow’s profit, he knows what it means to delay gratification.

Character means living thoughtfully instead of thoughtlessly. People of character are thoughtful while people without character are thoughtless. To live with character is to live thoughtfully; you weigh your options and embark on the most profitable course of action.

Beloved, are you a person of quality and positive character?

My counsel is, do not live for temporal gains like Esau? Make up your mind to avoid anything that will affect your character and destiny negatively.

Remember this: People who lack character like Esau gain things that are temporal, and lose things that are permanent.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to be a person of quality and positive character.

2. Avoid the temptation of living without integrity.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You make me a person of quality conviction. I receive the grace to live right Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: STANDING OUT BY THE BLESSING.

SCRIPTURE: And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. GENESIS 37:6-7.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Blessing of God places the mark of distinction over a person’s life.

It has been confirmed that to live in the blessing is to live in distinction. The Blessing of God places the mark of distinction over a person’s life. A blessed person does not die out but stands out in his or her generation.

When you are blessed, you can't be lost in the crowd. There is an unmistakable seal on your life that makes you stand out if you are blessed.

The Scripture reveals that Joseph stood out from his brothers.

Genesis 37:6-7 says,
6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed:
7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

You see, what made Joseph stand out from his brother was the Blessing on his life. Joseph was a custodian of the generational Blessing of Abraham. Abraham blessed Isaac; Isaac blessed Jacob, and Jacob blessed Joseph.

The way Joseph stood out from his brothers is the same way a blessed person stands out from the rest. The Blessing on Joseph’s life made him stand out from the rest, and people bowed before him.

Beloved, if you don’t want to die out or be relegated to the background, crave for the blessing. If you don’t want to be lost in the crowd, go for the blessing.

I decree that everything that buried other people in your family and community shall bow before you, in Jesus’ Name. You are too blessed to die out. You shall stand out in Jesus Name.

Remember this: The Blessing of God places the mark of distinction over a person’s life.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make demands on God for the release of His Blessing on your life.
2. Refuse to be lost in the crowd; refuse to die out or remain insignificant in your generation.

PRAYER: Lord, thank You for showing me the importance of the Blessing. I ask that You help me to stand out in my generation like Joseph by the agency of the Blessing, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DATE: SUNDAY, AUGUST 11TH, 2024.

TOPIC: PARAMETERS OF TRUE DEDICATION.

SCRIPTURE: And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD. GENESIS 19:27.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Dedication implies a life that is totally owned by God.

It has been confirmed that understanding is key to manifestation. Understanding is also key to possibilities. What you can show is a function of what you know. On the other hand, ignorance is a major reason for stagnation and struggle in life.

Now, one reason why many people are not truly dedicated to God is their ignorance of what dedication is all about.
Therefore, in our study today, we shall look at what dedication is all about so we can be truly dedicated to God.

Now, what is dedication?
Dedication means:
i) Total submission to God.

Dedication implies a life that is totally owned by God. It is an understanding that your life is not yours, but God’s, and so, you deliberately and totally submit yourself to Him.

In Galatians 2:20, Paul said,
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

This confirms what dedication means; total submission to God. It is allowing God to be in charge of your life.

ii) Addiction to God.
Dedication also means addiction to God. This is a situation where you literally live on God. It is a situation where your life runs on God just the way cars run on fuel. You run on God and you cannot survive without Him, just the way cocaine addicts cannot survive without taking cocaine.

Philippians 1:21 says,
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

To Paul, living is all about Christ, and without Christ, he could not survive. That is true dedication.
iii). Donation to God.

Dedication to God means a life totally given to God. It is a life that God is totally in control of. It is a life “wasted” on God.

Beloved, it is important to ask yourself: Does God truly own my life? Does my life depend on God just as cars depend on fuel? Is God in total control of my life?

This is my counsel to you: critically assess your life to know if you are truly dedicated to God.

Remember this: Dedication implies a life that is totally owned by God.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to totally submit your life to God .

2. Allow God to take the centre stage of your life.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to be truly and fully dedicated to You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DATE: SATURDAY, AUGUST 10TH, 2024.

TOPIC: DESIRE – A PATHWAY TO INSIGHT.

SCRIPTURE: As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? PSALM 42:1-2.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Where there is no interest, there is no insight; where there is no desire, there is no discovery.

It has been established that desire is key to insight. Desire is the secret of discovery. Desire is critical to light and insight.

Show me a person who is desperate for God and his purpose in life, and I will show you a person who has a lot of insight and revelation concerning that which he desires.

In the Book of Daniel, king Nebuchadnezzar had a dream which he forgot, and none of the magicians or astrologers could recall or interpret his dream. But in Daniel 2:16-19, the dream was revealed to Daniel at the frequency of desire. Daniel called his friends and they prayed to God concerning the revelation of the dream of Nebuchadnezzar, and in the night, the dream and its interpretation were revealed to Daniel.

The secret was revealed to Daniel at the frequency of desire. Daniel desired to know the dream at the place of prayer, and he got the revelation of the dream and its interpretation.

You see, the level of revelation a person possesses is determined by the level of his desire.

For example, as a pastor, if you need light concerning the issue of the fruit of the womb, you must have passionate desire for the healing of people with barrenness. And with that passionate desire, you can easily access revelation in that area.

The truth is that where there is no interest, there is no insight; where there is no desire, there is no discovery. Where there is no research, nothing can be revealed. So, it is desire that makes a man to discover.

Desire is what makes a person to see what others cannot see out of Scripture.

Beloved, my counsel is: ask God to increase the level of your desire for Him in your heart, and your insight would also increase.

Remember this: Where there is no interest, there is no insight; where there is no desire, there is no discovery.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Ask God to increase your level of hunger and passion for Him.

2. Seek relevant insight from the Scripture in the direction of your passion or interest.

PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You increase my desire and passion for You and for the Kingdom. Open my eyes to behold wondrous things out of Your Word, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: THE GOD-FIRST
MENTALITY – A KEY TO SUPERNATURAL PROVISIONS.

SCRIPTURE: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. MATTHEW 6:33.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you seek God first, all other things will seek you.

It has been established that when the principles of God are followed, the resources of God flow.

The question then is, what principles should one follow in order to experience the provisions of God?
We shall look at a one of those principles in our study today.
The God-first Living

The God-first living is the first principle responsible for supernatural provisions. If a man or a woman will experience the supplies of God, God must be first in their lives.

Matthew 6: 33 says,
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added on to you.

Abraham sought God first. He sought God first in prayer as he prayed first thing in the morning.

Genesis 19:27 says,
And Abraham gat up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the Lord:
When Abraham woke up in the morning, the first person he sought after was God.

David also sought God first.

In Psalm 27:4, David said,
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.
David desired one thing, and that was to seek after God. He did not desire two or three things; he desired just one thing – seeking after the Lord.

David seemed to have said, “I'm not looking for money or fame; I am looking for God. I want to dwell in His house all the days of my life.”

Beloved, the God-first mentality is responsible for supernatural provisions. When you seek God first, all other things will seek you. The omission of God in the priorities of many people is a major reason for the dryness of their hands financially.

Beloved, I counsel you to seek God first, and all other things shall be added unto you.

Remember this: When you seek God, all other things will seek you.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to seek God first above all things.
2. Give your relationship with God the topmost priority.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to seek You first above all things. Help me to give the topmost priority to my relationship with You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DATE: THURSDAY, AUGUST 8TH, 2024.

TOPIC: ACTIONS THAT ATTRACT HEAVEN'S ATTENTION.

SCRIPTURE: Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him. EXODUS 32:26.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you stand for God in your generation, you provoke His attention and intervention.

It has been confirmed that there are human actions that provoke divine attention. There are things that people do that draw the attention and intervention of God.

It is very important to know these things, and do them in order to draw the attention and intervention of God. This is because divine intervention is the cure for all struggles in life; divine intervention is also key to breakthroughs in life.

Now, what are the things we must do to draw God’s attention and intervention?

i). Standing on the Side of God.

This also means standing with and for God.

When you stand for God in your generation, you provoke His attention and intervention. When you stand on the side of God, His attention and intervention become automatic in your life.

Exodus 32:26 says,
Then Moses stood in the gate of the camp, and said, Who is on the Lord's side? let him come unto me. And all the sons of Levi gathered themselves together unto him.

When Moses made this call, only the Levites responded to him to be on the Lord’s side. And what happened? God distinguished them from the rest of the tribes of Israel.

That singular action of the Levites got God's attention, and He separated them for Himself. Standing on the side of God draws God Himself to you, to intervene in the situations of your life.

ii). Standing in the defence of God.

Another human action that provokes divine attention and intervention is standing in the defence of God. When you make yourself a defender of God and His Kingdom, you secure Divine attention.

There was a time when the children of Israel began to commit adultery and idolatry in the wilderness on their way to the Promised Land. The anger of God was kindled against the people. A man provoked God further by bringing a strange midianitish woman into the camp while the people were still mourning the judgement.

A young man called Phinehas went after this adulterous man and killed both him and the woman, (Numbers 25:6-11), and then the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.
Now, because Phinehas did this out of his zealousness for God, God gave him and his seed the covenant of peace and everlasting priesthood (Numbers 25:12).

Beloved, when you stand in defence of God like Phinehas, you provoke God’s attention.

Remember this: When you stand for God in your generation, you provoke His attention and intervention.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to stand with God and in defence of His Cause on earth.
2. Go all the way out with God like the Levites, and like Phinehas.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to stand with You and in defence of Your Kingdom on earth. I receive the grace to go all the way with You and for You, Lord in Jesus’ Name.

TOPIC: THE MYSTERY OF HOLY COMMUNION.

SCRIPTURE: And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. MATTHEW 26:26-28.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When you access mysteries, you gain mastery.

It has been established that mystery is the pathway to mastery. When you access mysteries, you gain mastery. In every realm of life, access to mystery equals mastery.

When you see a person who appears to be a master in several realms of life, it is because they got access to mysteries in those realms.

Also, note that when you gain access to mysteries, you eliminate miseries from your life. Mysteries handle miseries. You cannot connect with the mysterious wisdom of God and continue to live a miserable life. Mysteries delete miseries.

Now, one mystery we need to understand to be master over the situations of life is the mystery of the Holy Communion.

The Holy Communion has been taken religiously for many years, especially by people of orthodox background.
It is very important to note that the communion is wisdom, solution, answer, divine help, all packaged inside mysteries.

Now, what does the Holy Communion have to offer?

Matthew 26:26-28 says,
And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and brake it, and gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is my body.
And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, Drink ye all of it;
For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
The communion carries the very life of the master, Jesus Christ.
Jesus said, ‘This is my body…”, ‘This is my blood.”
This means, whatever is in the Body of Jesus Christ is in the communion. Whatever is in His Blood is inside the communion.

Leviticus 17:11 says,
“The life of the flesh is in the blood.’
So, the very life of Jesus Christ is in the Blood (The Holy Communion).
This means, every encounter with the Communion is an encounter with the very life of Jesus Christ.
And since the life of Jesus is indestructible, you become indestructible when you take the Holy Communion.

Beloved, my counsel is: whenever you take the Holy Communion, always know that you are taking the indestructible life of Jesus, and so you cannot be destroyed by the enemy.

Remember this: When you access mysteries, you gain mastery.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Ask God to grant you access to mysteries in His Word.

2. Take the Holy Communion with the revelation that you are taking the life and Blood of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER: Thank You Lord for the revelation of Your Word to me today. I ask that You grant me access to the mysteries of the Holy Communion, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

DATE: TUESDAY, AUGUST 6TH, 2024.

TOPIC: CHARACTER INFIRMITY.

SCRIPTURE: Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? EXODUS 15:11.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When a person has one identity in church and another outside the church, such a person has character infirmity.

Our anchor Scripture reveals the song Moses sang when the children of Israel crossed the Red Sea.

Exodus 15:11 says,
Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

From this Scripture, it is clear that if it must be glorious, it must happen on the platform of holiness. Holiness is a platform for gloriousness.

So, there is an irretrievable connection between glory and character. No one can see the “gloriousness” of God except they operate in the holiness of God.
So, there is a need to know what character is all about.

Now, what is character?
Character is existing with a life that is open

A man of character lives an open life like an opened book.

In Acts 24:16, Pau said,
And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void of offence toward God, and toward men.
Character means a life that is open.

As a man of character, who you are publicly is who you are privately. Who you are in church is who you are at home. Who you are in church is who you are in the office. Who you are among the people of God is who you are among the people of the world.

When a person has one identity in church and another outside the church, such a person has character infirmity.
You see, just as we have bodily infirmity, we also have character infirmity. It is character deficiency or character failure. And character infirmity is worse than bodily infirmity.

If your life is not open, if you have double-faced identity like Jacob, if your life is not straight-forward; then you have character infirmity.

Today, I decree that every form of character infirmity in your life is healed, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: When a person has one identity in church and another outside of church, such a person has character infirmity.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to be a person of quality and positive character.
2. By all means, avoid character infirmity. Ask God for the grace to remain pure and upright always.

PRAYER: Lord, I thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace to live upright, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
