As It Counts

These are few of the things I've learnt this year and I hope it helps you;

- Forget what is proper and do what is right.
- Shred your excess luggage. Fly light.
- Sometimes trying to prove you are the e best is an insult to yourself.
- No masterpiece was created by a lazy artist.
- Don't judge people for the choice they make when you didn't know the options thy had to choose from.

The Sojourn

When I was younger and with mum and dad, we lived down the street. I had lot of friends, most of whom thought I was an uninteresting fellow with so little to offer. I wasn't the brightest of kids, neither was I amongst the dumb ones.

But not a day went by for me without being mocked for my timidity and my being too emotional and sensitive.

They said I weep too much and that's a show of weakness. They said I don't mingle, always indoors, and that makes me socially awkward and incapable. Always scared of mama and wouldn't enjoy the risk that comes with growing; that, they said, will make me gullible.

So in order to be appreciated I imitated them, what they did I did, where they went I went, how they spoke I spoke.

If only I knew the timidity proves my introverted nature that bore solitude where outstanding muses and creativity would have spring up from.

If only I knew that my sensitivity and my quick emotional breakdown was my emphatic self, a virtue that is real lacking in the world today.

If I had known that the gullibility they saw was the leadership spirit in me.

Well now that I have imitated them, the world isn't a better place, even I don't walk in my own shell. I work all day searching for the me you made me despise.

There's a greater risk and exposure to cancer now than ever.

The good way about it is early treatment and that involves regular medical check.

Prevention is finely better than cure.

THE 1-MINUTE RULE

THE 1-MINUTE RULE
Last Sunday, I promised myself I was going to get a-2 hours nap mid-day. At 2pm, I lay down to get the supposed nap, but guess what? Each time I tried to settle into sleep, I felt a nudge in my mind. I had been procrastinating on calling the electrician, I was too lazy to do it! So each time I try to doze off, I get this mental reminder of this little undone task, and it made me so restless. I couldn't achieve the bigger goal which was to get adequate sleep during the day.

In our journey to effectiveness, this endless mental reminder of small undone tasks add up to big stress. Completing these small tasks silences the reminders and create a calm and productive environment.

The 1-minute rule suggests that if a task takes less than a minute to complete, you should do it right away instead of delaying it. This rule encourages quick action on small tasks, such as fixing your bed, replying to an email or organizing your workspace, to prevent accumulation and potential procrastination and to maintain productivity. By promptly handling short tasks, you reduce the chances of forgetting or neglecting and keep your workload more manageable.

The term "1-minute rule" was coined by Gretchen Rubin, and is described as "incredible easy, incredible effective"

As it came.

One must be gracious during bad times, because time takes no time to change.

Don't stop being alive.

Silent Whispers

I never chose the way I met you
Your smile beams like the rays of Sun
I never chose how I loved you
Your aura soothes like
Watching a cosmos

Now that you're here
I can make a choice to be and to become

A piece of your mind.

Silent Whispers

Silent Whispers
"Be careful on your way home, so you don't get lost”
Those were mama's words
In my thought, those were mere words
Now I'm grown and I know more
Those words mean more

Home is not confined in those walls
Home is more, home is where I belong
Home is Love
Home is the heart mine longs for
Just like mama's words

On my way home, I hope I don't get lost.
