I still believe strongly that the cause of the cholera is poverty. The economic hardship in the country lead to production of substandard drinks not minding the health implications or challenges that may arise after consumption. People have to survive, hence, go into the production of unhygienic drinks at least to meet up with the daily bread, boycotting even the due process and NAFDAC.
Consumers patronizing them were doing that out poverty or economic hardship as well,in the country. Imagine the cost of maltina and other soft drinks in the market today how many Nigerians as I speak can afford them. This is why many Nigerians speak most on reduction of food prices in the markets.
“Cholera: Nigeria records 53 deaths as govt warns against unhygienic drinks - Premium Times”The NCDC DG noted that a recent risk assessment placed Nigeria at high risk of increased cholera transmission and impact.
