Teaching your children the fear of the LORD

Teaching your children the fear of the LORD
What does the phrase “the fear of the Lord “mean? The word “fear“ is associated with terror, feeling of anxiety and agitation produced by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain e.t.c. This however, is not the sense in which the scripture uses the word when it talks about the fear of God. The context in which it is used in the bible implies reverence, awe and great respect. In essence, what the scripture is teaching is that we are to have deep reverence and respect for the Lord.

Literally, we are to be awed and humbled by His presence. When we fear the Lord, we live our lives in reverence for His name and His word. We will surrender our lives to Him and we will live to please God in all we do.

Not only adult are obligated to fear the Lord, children too are. Hence, you are to preach to your children to fear Him too. To do this, you must begin the following from early stage:
  • Pray for them and with them
  • Introduce them to the scriptures
  • Tell and show them the way of truth
  • Take them to church and cultivate their interest in the things of God
  • Preach the gospel of salvation to them.

  • As you prayerfully embark on this great task, the Lord will graciously save and instill His fear in your children′s lives.

Helpers of Destiny - Mark 2:1-12

Helpers of Destiny - Mark 2:1-12
God did not create any man who would not need the help of other men. Whether you are rich or poor, popular or not. To grow in life, and maintain good life, you need some help. Doesn?t it amaze you that a sick man; though being a medical doctor can hardly treat himself. A man sick of palsy needed the help of four men to get his healing from the Ultimate helper. Mark 2: 1-12.The Bible speaking of the ministry of Jesus Christ says ?How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.? Wait a minute! Did you read that? ? (Acts 10:38)...for God was with him...? It implies that Jesus would have failed if he didn?t get the help he required from God.

As important as help may be, not everyone gets help. I pray for you today dear reader that help will not be far from you in Jesus name. In the lives of many a Christian, help is scarce. Many do all that they do by themselves and on their own. They labour so hard but they only go as far as their labour could carry them. Let me tell you one truth dear friend. Hard-work is extremely important but it would be great misery if all your growth is determined by the extent of your labour. Labour alone has never prospered any man. Labour alone can never make a man amount to much. The Bible says ?...the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.? (Ecc 9:11)You can write this down: those who don?t find help don?t go far.
The question now is this: how can a man access his helper.

First, I must have you know that no man can help another man whom God has not helped. This is why some are so very close to help and then they never get help. There can?t be a better illustration of this than the life of the man by the pool of Bethesda. John 5:1-9. He had a family and a people; some of them are probably his siblings yet when Jesus asked him ?Do you want to be made whole?? he replied ?I have no man?. What he actually meant is that my relatives are all nonentity. He probably meant that my family does not care. He was probably beginning to think of himself as an orphan. Let?s face it. If you have people who can help and they don?t, isn?t it just normal to conclude that you have no people at all? That was what he did.
It was in this mess that help arose from the helper of the helpless himself. Jesus of Nazareth showed up for him. I pray for you today dear reader that when you need help the most the Almighty will arise for you. I remember the man by the name Mephibosheth (2 Sam: 9). King David had felt indebted to Jonathan his father and wanted desperately to bless him. But the challenges of life including his lameness had kept him away from the reach of men wallowing in obscurity in Lodebar. He had a waiting helper but he was not visible. David wanted desperately to help him but the forces of helplessness held him bound.

Dear reader, even when a man makes up his mind to help you if God does not enable his help he would be scarce to find. Thank God for Ziba. God used him to help the destiny of Mephiboshet. For this reason the Bible said ?Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth? (Ps 124:8). As you go out of your way seeking help this day please understand that there is only one place to look to for help and that is ?up?. Psalms 121:1-2 When you look up to God in prayer He compels men to do what they would ordinarily not do for you. They will offer help to you and still feel blessed for doing so. They will offer help to you and still feel honoured helping you. I bet you that is the kind of help that you need. It is my prayer for you as you begin in this new month, help of the helpless will be for you a very present help in the time of need.

Teach your children about the end time

Teach your children about the end time
Some people have argued that letting children know about the rapture and events of the last days is tantamount to scaring them. The truth is that no parents who understand the need for their children to take part in the rapture will deprive them of knowing about such an all important global event. You need to empower them with all available information about rapture so as to prepare them to partake in it.

Moreover, there is no better time to teach them about the end time events than now. Start teaching them now. Use every available medium and method to teach them. Take advantage of social media to reach those that are staying far away from you.

Reason why you should teach your children about the end time event:
  • It gives them comfort and assurance
  • It keeps them on guard
  • It equips them with biblical doctrines
  • It gets them prepare for the rapture.

Teaching Your Child The Fear Of The Lord

Teaching Your Child The Fear Of The Lord
The word fear means “a feeling of anxiety and agitation produced by the presence or nearness of danger, evil, pain e.t.c. This, however, is not the sense in which the scripture uses the word when it talks about the fear of the Lord. The context in which it is used in the bible implies reverence, awe and great respect. In essence, what the scripture is teaching is that we are to have a deep reverence and respect for the Lord. Literally, we are to be awed and humbled by His presence.

When we truly fear the Lord, we will lives in reverence for His name and His word. We will surrender our lives in reverence to Him and live to please Him in all we do. We should run away from sin and everything that can bring Him displeasure. We should nurture our young ones to love and serve Him. We will speak of His love to the lost and dying world with so much passion that they will see Him beckoning to them through our message.

In a nutshell, the fear of the Lord is a deep seated reverence for God that makes you want to please Him at all cost.

Not only adults are obligated to fear the Lord, the children too are. Hence, you are to teach your child to fear Him too. To do this, you must begin the following from early stage:

  • Take him/her to church and cultivate his/her interest in the things of God.
  • Preach the gospel of salvation to them

  • As you prayerfully embark on this great task, the Lord will graciously save and instill His fear in your child in Jesus name.

5 Watermelon Facts That Might Surprise You

5 Watermelon Facts That Might Surprise You
    1. Watermelon Juice May Relieve Muscle Soreness.
If you have a juicer, try juicing about one-third of a fresh watermelon and drink its juice prior to your next workout. This contains a little over one gram of l-citrulline, an amino acid that seems to protect against muscle pain.
One study found that men who drank natural unpasteurized watermelon juice prior to their workouts had reduced muscle soreness 24 hours later compared to those who drank a placebo.
You do need to be careful with drinking watermelon juice, though, as it contains a significant amount of fructose. It may be better to eat the entire fruit, or opt for these other tips to prevent muscle soreness.

    2. Watermelon Is a Fruit and a Vegetable.
Remember how watermelon is related to cucumbers, pumpkin, and squash? That′s because it′s part vegetable and part fruit (it′s a sweet, seed-producing plant, after all). The other clue that watermelon is both fruit and vegetable? The rind is entirely edible.

    3. You Can Eat Watermelon Rind and Seeds.
Most people throw away the watermelon rind, but try putting it in a blender with some lime for a healthy, refreshing treat. Not only does the rind contain plenty of health-promoting and blood-building chlorophyll, but the rind actually contains more of the amino acid citrulline than the pink flesh.
While many people prefer seedless watermelon varieties, black watermelon seeds are edible and actually quite healthy. They contain iron, zinc, protein, and fiber. (In case you are wondering, seedless watermelons aren′t genetically modified, as they′re the result of hybridization.)

    4. It′s Mostly Water.
This might not be surprising, but it′s still a fun fact; watermelon is more than 91 percent water. This means that eating watermelon on a hot summer day is a tasty way to help you stay hydrated and avoid dehydration (However, it′s not a substitute for drinking plenty of fresh water.).

    5. Some Watermelon Are Yellow.
The Yellow Crimson watermelon has yellow flesh with a sweeter, honey flavor than the more popular pink-fleshed Crimson Sweet. It′s likely that yellow watermelon offers its own unique set of nutritional benefits, but most research to date has focused on the pink-fleshed varieties.
