It Struck Me Big-time

It Struck Me Big-time
Many years ago, I was still a juvenile kid. It was during the yuletide season like this, my now late dad had given my mom a certain amount of cash to get Christmas cloths for my siblings and I.

Even though the outfit was so lovely, I felt I deserved something better; so bad of me in all honesty.

On Christmas day after consuming my sumptuous meal, I stepped out of the house wearing a foggy sad face about to visit house to house like a tax collector; barely a minute of stepping outside the compound, I saw another boy of about my age walked past me cheerfully, the outfit he wore shocked me to my bone marrow.

The shirt was completely faded and old, his worn-out trouser was torn from the back exposing a large portion of his butt. But still yet, he was happy, he was fulfilled, and he didn’t mind.

My legs became heavy like a bag of cement was suddenly attached to it. My heart plummeted down to my stomach. I began to shiver and quiver in deep regret for being ungrateful for the outfit my parents squeezed to get for me.

That day I learned an unforgettable and invaluable lesson, to be appreciative and grateful.

The truth is, many things you have and don’t treasure or value it is currently another person’s prayer request.

Where you are today is another person's dream to be. "Never let the things you want make you forget the things you have." — Sanchita Pandey

Since that Incident many years back, I turned a priceless new leaf; and that has made all the difference in my life.

Always be thankful for what you have and you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough.
