  • It takes hard work to become a champion, but it takes even harder work to remain one.

  • Memorise: Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee? -Psalm 85:6

Excerpts From: Different Types Of Sons (2)

“Many times, when we talk about how a Christian should behave, dress, and act, some people will say, "God is not that difficult, He is a God of love. Where the Spirit of God is, there is liberty." I always say, "We shouldn't quarrel about it, live your life the way you want to live it. It all depends on how close you want to be to God.”
  • A closer level than becoming a friend of the father, is for a son to become His favourite friend.
  • Spend more time with God than they spend with anyone or anything else.
  • Surrender your appetite (be ready to fast like no man's business) to draw closer to God then most others ever will.
  • Hate the things of the world and prioritise the kingdom of God. -James 4:4 (It will cost you material things, choosing between God and mammon. -Matthew 6:24)

  • Memorise: I will be his father, and he shall be my son. If he commit iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men, and with the stripes of the children of men: -2 Samuel 7:14

Conduct a sincere audit of your relationship with God.

4 Keypoints From: Becoming A Son Of God (2)

  • A son dwells in the house of God, he does not come and go; sons ensure that His presence is with them, wherever they go.
  • Don't joke with your quiet time with Him. That is when it is just you and Him in the morning, conversing.
  • Become addicted to speaking to Him every morning to start your day, then dwell continually in His presence by living basically on His voice. -Psalm 10:4
  • A son is always seeking to glorify his Father's name. He never wants to do anything that will make people say 'And You call yourself a child of God.'

  • “If you are a son of God, abiding in His presence must be like breathing to you. *-1 Corinthians 10:31”

Memorise: And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. -John 8:35

3 Keypoints From: Servant Or Son?

  • Unlike a servant who can resign or be sacked, a son abides in the house forever (-John 8:35), under the shadow of the almighty (-Psalm 91:1), with goodness and mercy surely following (-Psalm 23:6).
  • Being just a visitor that only comes into the presence of the master when he is needed, the servant does not see everything the master does, whereas, the son even sees ahead, and knows what God is going to do. -John 5:20
  • Being a son of God is superior to just being His servant.

  • “God called Job "My servant", little wonder he allowed Satan to experiment with him (Job 1:8-12); My father will never permit the enemy to experiment with my health, resources or anything that concerns me because I am His son.”

Memorise: I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: -1 Chronicles 17:13

  • Dwelling in the house of the Lord precedes feasting at the table set before you; which no enemy can tamper with.

  • “The benefits of being in God's temple are far too great o be missed.”
