MY MATRICULATION STORY

MY MATRICULATION STORY
Being in the university is so sweet.
families are proud of you.😃

On that special day that fell on a Tuesday, I woke up as early as 4:37AM as i had a sleepless night,,, cold wan finish me😤, as everywhere was so windy at the early hours of the day. It is quite unusual to have such a beautiful weather in Ekpoma (Edo State) in a season like that. This suggested to me that even the weather knew the specialty of that day’s event and then contributed to it’s pleasures😂.

So let me start by bringing my parents into this,,, before the D-Day, my mum and my grandfather has already come all the way from Benin to Ekpoma 🙄 just to celebrate with their son😊. My brother e nor easy to be first grandchild, if you don't get it, forget about it!
So to continue with our gist; as a devout christian that my momsi is, we had our morning devotion for almost for an hour😫, that woman can pray for heaven, Iye🤧.
And moreover I barely had such period of time to pray as days before have always been on tight academic schedules. After prayers, my mum and I did a little clean up in my room with my eyes terminally looking at the wall clock😂, I could not afford to arrive late at the special event. Was more like a wedding day to me. So my mum left me do the rest chores, while she quickly prepare something for me and my grandfather to eat. Mothers will always be mothers🥺
After the clean up, I quickly rushed to take my bath and brush my teeth and also I ate my food,,, then the time was already 8:57AM.

The event was scheduled to start by 10:00AM but i was already at the venue by 9:55AM,,,as the Bini spirit in me chooses not to show up its face that day, if you know, you know! Well my aim was to sit in the front row so i could obtain good visuals of the programs as they unfold, that kind tin😜

After the African time syndrome had been honoured, the program eventually started at about few minutes past 11:00AM and by then,we the matriculating students were already sited in our rightful place in the hall. Guests, lecturers, academic staff, non – academic staff, board of directors, the registrar and other dignitaries were already on sit and the master of ceremony asked a pastor who is the Dean of the Faculty of Arts to say the opening prayer and the event started properly. Oshe!!!

The euphoria in the hall was great as we sang the national anthem. All the high table members were honourably introduced by the master of ceremony after which the opening speech was given by the Father of the day, . The guest speaker of the day was invited to the stage with applaud from the audience and he gave a speech on “the roles of good moral behaviour in attaining academic excellence” and he admonished the students on the code of conduct of higher institution. After the speech, the registrar presented the Matriculating students to the dean and we were directed to swear the Matriculation oath after which the rector gave the closing remark. Again, the national anthem and pledge was taken and the program was brought to a close as we matched out to the red carpet for group pictures. The Great AMBROSE ALLI UNIVERSITY!

I was opportune to take pictures with some dignitaries. I also took pictures with my friends and course mates. I toured different music bands and danced till i was very tired and then i the venue at about 4:00PM. On getting home, i landed on my bed and slept the whole evening.
