Energy boost or sleep buster

Energy boost or sleep buster
Last night, I decided to take Fearless drink so I could stay awake. It was my second time trying it, but the first time was during the day, so I didn’t notice anything unusual. I didn’t expect that it would mess with my sleep. I was just trying to stay alert and finish some work.

Once I went to bed, I kept waking up every single hour until morning. At first, I didn’t even think it had anything to do with the drink. I just thought maybe I wasn’t tired enough, I’d fall asleep, and the next thing, I’m awake again.

When I finally got up in the morning, the first thing I did was go to the bathroom. That’s when I noticed something strange, I was urinating way more than usual. But even then, I brushed it off, thinking maybe I drank too much water before bed or something simple like that.

By 10 am, I was so tired from the messed up night that I ended up falling asleep again. I didn’t wake up until 3pm. After I woke up, I found myself rushing to the bathroom once again, passing out more urine. That’s when I mentioned it to my roommate, and she was quick to point out I had taken Fearless. It hit me that the drink was responsible.

After that realization, I didn’t waste any time. I grabbed the bottle, and without a second thought, I threw it in the trash. I wasn’t about to mess with that stuff again, especially knowing how it messed up my body like that.
Next time, I’ll definitely think twice before buying an energy drink, especially late at night.

Triumph through persistence

I’ve been struggling to make good custard for a while now. Two weeks ago, I decided to go on YouTube and learn how to make it. I watched a few videos and thought it looked simple enough. But when I tried it myself, it turned out too watery each time. I gave up after four failed attempts.

Since then, I kind of left it alone. I figured maybe custard wasn’t for me. But today, I decided to try again, this time with a friend’s help. She made hers, and it came out perfectly. Watching her do it gave me some hope that maybe I could finally get it right.

When it was my turn, I tried again, but the same thing happened, it was too watery. I was really frustrated at that point. My friend saw my struggle and gave me a little tip. She said to keep pouring hot water until the custard changes color, which is something I hadn’t heard before.

I followed her advice and, to my surprise, it worked. The custard finally came out smooth and just the right consistency. Now, I can finally say I know how to make custard, and I’m proud of it. It’s going straight onto my list of things I can cook.

Survival of the fittest

I had plans to work on my system for days, expecting to use the electricity to power my work. But NEPA had other plans. For days on end, they failed to bring light, leaving me frustrated and unable to achieve anything.

I tried to find an alternative solution by buying fuel for my generator, but the current fuel price in Nigeria was too expensive. I couldn't afford it, so I was stuck. The deadlines for the summition of my project was fast approaching , but unfortunately there is actually nothing I could do to help the situation.

Just when I thought all hope was lost, I remembered my friend's place, which has a renewable energy, and as such not affected by the unfortunate situation. I packed my bags, grabbed my system, and headed to their house. Luckily, they welcomed me with open arms and allowed me to use their power to boost mine. I was finally able to work on my system.

My project was done in few hours and I found my way back home, just few steps to my compound I heard a shout "UP NEPA"

The war in-between

There’s this stubborn wall gecko that’s been giving me serious headache for a while now. Every time I try to find it and kill it, the thing disappears like it has special powers. I can’t count how many times I’ve turned my room upside down just trying to catch it, but it always hides before I can even get close.

Tonight, I had enough. I bought a sniper spray and decided I wasn’t going to let it win this time. So, I waited patiently for it to show up. Sure enough, as usual, it crawled out from its hiding place. I didn’t even think twice and I quickly sprayed the sniper on it, hoping that would be the end.

But this gecko was stubborn. Instead of going down, it ran back inside its hiding spot like nothing happened. I was frustrated, but I knew it wouldn’t stay hidden forever. After a few minutes, it came out again and this time, it ran straight under my bed. At that point, I was done with the whole hide-and-seek game.

I couldn’t sleep knowing that thing was under my bed, so I decided to scatter everything and face it one on one. I started moving things around, sweating as I tried to bring it out from under there. The bed, the chairs, everything got shifted. The room was a mess, but I wasn’t stopping until I got rid of it for good.

After what felt like ages of chasing it around the room, I finally cornered the annoying creature. I gave it what it deserved. No more hiding, no more sneaking around. This was the end of its reign of terror in my room.

Now, my room feels lighter, like I finally got rid of a heavy burden. I cleaned up the mess and lay down, satisfied that the annoying gecko was gone for good. I just hope no new one comes around to test me again.

A lasting solution

When the handle of my knife broke, it was like the start of a bad habit. My roommate and I kept procrastinating buying a new one, telling ourselves we'd do it soon. Instead, we started buying food from outside almost every day. On the days we felt like cooking, we had to borrow a knife from our neighbor. It worked, but it wasn’t ideal.

Each time I had to ask for the neighbor’s knife, I felt a bit uncomfortable. I didn’t like the idea of using someone else’s things every time I wanted to cook. It made me feel like I was always bothering them, even though they didn’t seem to mind. Still, it wasn’t a great feeling.

At one point, my friend who was traveling close to my hometown offered to help. I asked him to pick up a knife from my parents’ place. It seemed like a perfect solution, but when he got back, he had forgotten all about it. I was frustrated, but I couldn’t blame him.

Today, though, I hit my breaking point. I couldn’t bear the thought of borrowing the neighbor's knife again. So, I decided to search for a new one myself. I walked around, determined to find a place where I could buy a decent knife. After some effort, I finally found a shop that had what I needed.

Now that I have the knife, I feel relieved. It’s a simple thing, but it makes a big difference. No more procrastinating, no more borrowing from the neighbor. I’m just glad I can cook in peace again.

A deadly mistake

A deadly mistake
Yesterday, I returned home late from church to find our lodge mates gathered outside, worried about a suspected gas leakage. They pointed to our line, claiming that's where the leak was coming from. But I didn't panic. Instead, I decided to investigate for myself.

My first instinct was to check the neighboring lodge next to ours. I remembered that I hadn't left my gas on, so I thought it was unlikely to be the source of the leak. As I approached the other lodge, I noticed something strange. A guy had used a nylon to tie a broken gas cooker.

What possessed him to come up with such an idea? Thankfully, others had already taken action to help the situation. They had removed the gas and taken it outside, preventing a potential disaster.

The guy who had attempted to fix the gas cooker was lucky to have avoided serious injury. God was truly watching over him, protecting him from harming himself or other people. And thankfully, everyone in our lodge was safe and sound.

He will pay before the gas cylinder is released to him 😂 abi him no know na so fire outbreak dey start for lodge?

Persuaded

I finally gave in to my friend's persuasion to try out a newly opened restaurant in town. I'm not a fan of buying food outside, but my gas cylinder was empty, and I had no choice. She assured me that they cooked amazingly well, so I decided to give it a try.

I was pleasantly surprised by the appearance of the restaurant. It looked clean and welcoming. Whild waiting for my order, I saw a familiar face walk in (my lecturer.) He came in a Jeep and looked quite casual, far from his usual formal self in class.

I mustered up the courage to introduce myself, and to my relief, he recognized me instantly. I guess being an outspoken student in his class had its bonuses. We exchanged pleasantries, and he even gave me his number, asking me to text him later.

Now, onto the main event - the egusi soup. Oh my goodness 😭, it was love at first taste. The condiments were perfectly mixed, and the flavor was heavenly. I ended up wanting more, but, I had only bought one plate.

All in all, it was a great experience. I'm glad I gave in to my friend's pressure, and I'm definitely going back for more of that delicious egusi soup.

Graduating with a Sore throat

I'm so happy. Yesterday, I finished computer school and got my certificate. The problem was that I woke up with a sore throat. Drugs, herbs and warm water refused to work for the throat for more than 4 days.

I worked really hard for this, and my family and friends were coming to celebrate with me. So, I pushed through the pain and got ready.
When I got to the ceremony, my throat hurt, but I was still excited. I saw my loved ones smiling at me, and my friends were talking with each other. We sat down, and the coordinator started talking.

I made it through the ceremony, though, and when they called my name, I walked up and got my certificate. My family and my friends congratulated me.

Afterward, we took pictures, and I tried to smile. My family asked me to say something, but my voice was very bad. I just said thanks and was glad it was over.
Please drop a like for your latest graduate 😁💜
