TOPIC: THE FORCE OF SEED SOWING

SCRIPTURE: Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again. LUKE 6:38.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Until your hands are opened towards God, your destiny can never be opened by God.

One of the forces behind destiny fulfilment is the force of the seed.

The seed is key to the future. The seed is cure for adversity. The seed is a trigger for a change of season.

Isaac sowed and his life changed (Genesis 26:12-17).

When Solomon became king, the first thing that he did was to offer a thousand burnt offering and his life and destiny opened (1 Kings 3:4).

After the Flood, when Noah came out of the Ark the first thing he did was the offering of burnt sacrifices, and his life and destiny opened (Genesis 8:20-22).

A closed hand is a closed destiny. A closed hand is a closed future. Until your hands are opened towards God, your destiny can never be opened by God.

You see, Joseph was so liberal with his gifts, and his liberality brought him to the palace.

The prophet Samuel was a product of seed sowing. Hannah, the mother said to God, “If you will give me a son, I will give that son back to you” (1 Samuel 1:11).

What about Peter? After fishing throughout the night and caught nothing, Peter handed over his ship to the Master Jesus Christ. And Jesus said to him, “You have literally sown your work tool for the work of God; now, get ready for a harvest.
Launch your net into the deep.” (Luke 5:1-4, paraphrased). Peter caught great multitudes of fishes because he first sowed his fishing tools to God.

You see, seed sowing changed the life of Isaac, Solomon, Noah, Hannah and Peter. Your life or destiny is just a seed away from your future.

Make up your mind to release your substance towards God and towards people to have an enviable destiny.

Remember this: Until your hands are opened towards God, your destiny can never be opened by God.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to release seeds towards God and His Kingdom.
2. Refuse to be tight-fisted. Change your life by your seed.

TOPIC: LIGHT – THE ANSWER TO DARKNESS

SCRIPTURE: But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. MATTHEW 4:1.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You are only at the mercy of the devil if you are bankrupt of light or insight from God’s Word.

Many years ago, Paul Yongi Cho of Blessed Memory was trying to cast out a demon. He said he did everything he could do, but the demon refused to be cast out.

Then he suddenly got a flash of light or insight about his identity in Christ Jesus. He saw what Christ did for him on the Cross of Calvary.

The light emboldened him, so he went ahead and told the demon, “You have to go out now. Two thousand years ago, my elder brother, Jesus Christ, defeated you on my behalf on the Cross of Calvary. I hereby stand in his shoes to command you to get out now!”

He said it was unbelievable what happened next: the demon said, “Hold on! I will go, but please don’t tell anyone about this, because many people are not aware of it.”

Beloved, can you see this? Light is the only answer to darkness. The revelation of the word of God is light that disarms the devil. This is why ignorance is a strong weapon of the devil.

Jesus used the power of light and revelation to disarm the devil. When the devil tempted him to turn stone into bread, Jesus told the devil,
…It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:1.
Please note that it is the revelation of the Word of God that Jesus had that made him defeat the devil.

The truth is, you are only at the mercy of the devil if you are bankrupt of light or insight from God’s Word.

Beloved, this is my counsel for you today: arm yourself with light; arm yourself with the weapon of insight from God’s Word so you can fight against the wiles of the devil. Search the Scriptures and let God reveal His Word to you.

Remember this: You are only at the mercy of the devil if you are bankrupt of light or insight from God’s Word.

ASSIGNMENT:

TOPIC: THE PLAGUE OF CHARACTER FAILURE

SCRIPTURE: Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 2 TIMOTHY 2:19.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The plague that has done the worst harm is not natural disasters; it is the plague of character challenge.

We live in a world today that is plagued with a myriad of character challenges. When you look around the world, you would notice many plagues like earthquake, flood, tsunami, epidemics etc. ravaging the earth. But the truth is, the plague that has done the worst harm is not natural disasters; it is the plague of character challenge.

Our world is plagued with extreme forms of lovelessness and wickedness. Hate is a destructive plague ravaging our generation today.

Sometime ago, while ministering and praying for people in the Healing and Deliverance Service, I gave a word of knowledge. I said that there was someone that God was setting free from cultism.

Then a young man ran out and began to narrate his involvement in the cult. He told us how he ran from his village eight years earlier because his cult group killed and decapitated someone.

That is the world we live in. It is a world plagued with extreme lovelessness and wickedness.

Other ravaging character plagues in our generation are dubiety, dishonesty, falsehood, and insincerity. People speak lies, eat lies and live in lies.

I got talking with someone sometime ago, and the person was telling me about someone else who was like falsehood personified. Everything about this person was a lie; even his name was a lie.

The person who was talking with me said, “I don’t know what is true about this person.”

Then I said, “There is something that is true about this person, and that is the fact that nothing about him is true.”

Many people relocated to other countries on the basis of lies. Some even had to organize fake marriages.

Beloved, what is my counsel to you today? Refuse to spread the plague of character challenge. Make up your mind to live right.

Remember this: The plague that has done the worst harm is not natural disasters; it is the plague of character challenge.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind not to be part of the plague of character challenge.
2. Use the weapon of righteousness to quell the plague of ungodliness.

TOPIC: THE TRAGEDY OF UNGODLY COMPANY

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You lose your godly character when you associate with people with ungodly character.

In one of our previous studies, we saw that character failure is an epidemic in our generation. Character challenge has caused untold harms to the lives of people. Character failure has caused so many misfortunes to people, and in many cases, untimely deaths.

Now, it is important to know that character challenge started from the beginning of times, not long after creation.
The root of character challenge is traceable to Adam and Eve.

Character failure began with the very first man.

Now, I would like to highlight one root of character failure that was responsible for the fall of Adam and Eve.

A major cause of character challenge is company with the enemy. Anyone who keeps the company of the enemy, the unrighteous, and the ungodly will lose character.

Eve began a communication with the serpent from the beginning.

Genesis 3:1 says,
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
Eve was in talk with the devil. That was the origin of the collapse of man’s character.

1 Corinthians 15:33 says,
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

It doesn’t matter how good your character is, whenever you decide to engage with the devil or his agents, your character will be lost. You lose your godly character when you associate with people with ungodly character.

Remember this: You lose your godly character when you associate with people with ungodly character.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Refuse to keep company, communion and communication with the enemy.
2. Maintain the company of the godly to maintain godly character.

TOPIC: NO WEAPON FORMED…

SCRIPTURE: No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord. ISAIAH 54:17.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every tongue or weapon fashioned against your life shall not prosper because you are an unstoppable wind.

Many years ago, as a church, we were preparing to hold a meeting in one of the facilities in town.

The young man we sent to inquire about that facility said that a particular man vowed that it was only over his dead body would we hold our meeting in that facility.

The young man was shaking while telling me what the man at the facility said.

But then, I told the young man, “The man didn’t say anything bad. You misunderstood him. He only said he wanted to die first before the programme could take place. He wants to die before the programme. So, don’t panic.”

And do you know what happened? The man died and the meeting held.
The same weekend we were to hold the programme, he died and the meeting happened at the same facility.

Anytime you see someone jumping on the rail track while a train is advancing, it is either the person is insane or he wants to die. The man had possibly dreamt that he died, and only wanted to actualize the dream.

Our anchor Scripture reveals that, No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.
Isaiah 54:17
Every tongue or weapon fashioned against your life shall not prosper because you are an unstoppable wind (John 3:8). Even the forces of your father’s house are too limited to stop you. No ungodly government legislation can stop you. No agenda of hell can stop you. The conspiracies of witches and wizards are too useless to stop you.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When God said that he would give you a mouth, it means, he would give you a gift for your life’s triumph.

Our God is the God of purpose and objectivity. He created every organ of our body for specific purposes.

In our study today, we shall explore the function of the mouth.

The question is: what is the function of the mouth?

i. Your mouth is not just a body part; your mouth is a gift from God for your triumph in life.

Luke 21: 15 says,
For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.

When God said that he would give you a mouth, it means, he would give you a gift for your life’s triumph.

ii. The mouth is not just for eating food; the mouth is also a weapon of war.

The purpose of the mouth is not just for eating food; your mouth is a weapon of war. Luke 21:15 reveals that God gave you mouth that your enemies cannot resist. You use your mouth to fight and stand against the adversaries. Your mouth is a weapon of war.

iii. Your mouth is designed to communicate the wisdom of God.

From Luke 21:15, we also see that God gave you mouth to communicate His Wisdom. God promised you a mouth and wisdom to disarm your adversaries.
Deuteronomy 30:19 says,
I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

Your mouth or tongue is the tool for the communication of your choices in life. When you are speaking, you are choosing. Whenever you are talking, you are not just making statements; you are making choices.

Make up your mind to use your mouth wisely and effectively for your victory and triumph in life.

Remember this: When God said that he would give you a mouth, it means, he would give you a gift for your life’s triumph.

TOPIC: THE PRIVILEGE OF LIFE

SCRIPTURE: Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed anything, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things; ACTS 17:26.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The best way to handle the privilege of life is to use it to fulfil the purpose for which God gave it to you.

It has been established that life is a privilege. It is a privilege because no one woke up in the morning because of the force of their decision to wake up. There were people who slept and could not wake up the following morning. Before they slept, there was no trace of sickness in their body. They slept in health, but woke up in death.

So, life is a privilege. No one is alive because they are too powerful, too wise or too talented to die. No one can be so connected to people that their connections kept them alive.

This means, for every single second we live, we must see life as a privilege, and not a right.

I heard the story of one American president, Theodore Roosevelt. This man was very tough, aggressive, and audacious. He was a man given to adventure; a man who could fight anything.

One day, he slept and died in his sleep. And someone wrote about him and said, “Only in sleep could he have died because if he was awake, he would have fought with death.”
You see, this man was very powerful, but not too powerful to bow for death.

Beloved, life is a privilege; do not abuse the privilege of life. God gave your life to you on trust, and he expects you to maximize it. The best way to handle the privilege of life is to use it to fulfil the purpose for which God gave it to you.

Beloved, don’t live as though your life is a product of your personal merit. See your life as a privilege, and never abuse the privilege of life.

Remember this: The best way to handle the privilege of life is to use it to fulfil the purpose for which God gave it to you.

2. Do not abuse the privilege of life; determine to fulfil God’s Purpose for your life.

TOPIC: POSSESSING YOUR INHERITANCE BY A FIGHTING SPIRIT.

SCRIPTURE: And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. MATTHEW 11:12.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It takes a fighting spirit to change your situation and enlarge your capacity.

Jacob was a patriarch in Scripture who walked with God. He lived such an exemplary life that made him a good example to follow. He knew the God of his grandfather, Abraham and of his father, Isaac. He also inherited the Blessing of Abraham.

Now, one secret of Jacob was a fighting spirit. Jacob was a fighter per excellence. He was the second child of Isaac after Esau. At a point in his life, he realized that his future was bleak because the Abrahamic covenant blessing on his father, Isaac, was going to be passed on to Esau. This realization made him fight his way into possessing the Blessing.

He sat down and thought, “I cannot watch and be rendered useless in this family.” Along the line, he observed how careless and profane his brother, Esau, was. So, he went ahead and negotiated with Esau and “fightfully” took the birth-right. After that, he went for the Blessing, and took it.

Thus, Jacob got the Covenant Blessing through the engagement of a fighting Spirit.

It did not stop there; 21 years later, he wrestled with an angel for a change of identity.

The angel told him, “Let me go, for the day breaketh”
But he said, “I can’t let you go, unless you bless me. I don’t know when I will see you again. Let us fight it out now.” (Paraphrased).

So, he fought with the angel and his name was changed from Jacob to Israel. Jacob is a person, but Israel is a nation. God seemed to have told him, “You are no more a person; you are now a nation.”

Beloved, if you are willing to fight in the realm of the spirit, God will change your story and identity. It takes a fighting spirit to change your situation and enlarge your capacity.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Like Jacob, make up your mind to engage the fighting spirit to possess your God-given inheritance.
2. Persist with God until your change comes.
