The madman

The madman on sallah day
So, just yesterday I got off from bed filled with joy and happiness all because it was sallah and I was to rest and not attend lectures or even bother about anything.

So I quickly got up prepared like I had a whole year to rest, after which I ate and slept off. After a while, my friends visited and after some fun filled moments playing ps4 they had to go and I escorted them.

On our way, we saw how kids who normally look dirty and not well catered for where properly dressed for the sallah celebration. Just immediately my eyes caught a madman with a stick chasing the children because they were making fun of him, you know how children play with madman, they like being chased by them. So with his big stick he will chase them and stop until he saw a cow that was tied nearby, so he went straight to the cow and he was talking, what he was saying didn't even make any sense to me and then he seemed like he was getting angry and then he used the big stick to hit the cow and immediately the cow reacted and the road with which it was tied snapped and it was about to use his horn on the madman and I thought the madman would use the stick on it but to my greatest surprised the madman run away, I was surprised oh, so mad people can be scared to die too, no wonder it rare for you to see them being hit when crossing the road

πŸ˜‚MY NEIGHBOR ROOMπŸ˜‚

So three days ago, I knocked at my neighbor's room to ask for his mob. I have a mob, but then I noticed he has two. One is for mobbing the floor inside of his house and the other one is for mobbing the tiled floor outside of his house. So I wanted to borrow the one he uses for outside to use and mob the entrance of my house.

When he opened the door, I smiled and pointed to the mob.

"Abeg Bobby help me with your mob for outside."

He looked at the mob and shook his head.

"No vex o. This mob you see so, na only for my door. I no like to the share mob. If e spoil now, nobody go contribute money give me to buy new one. No vex abeg."

I carried my hand on my waist and kept nodding.

"It is true o. You are making sense. No wahala. I will just tear one small rag."

He said okay and entered his house.

I was not angry o.#nΓ€zzyjΓ±r

I did not show any sign of disappointment.

This evening, I was inside my house when a knock sounded on my door. I opened the door and saw it was my neighbor. The same man that denied me his mob.

"Uncle NΓ€zzy, how na."

"I dey."

"Abeg you get like two pepper? I just realize my pepper finish and indomie dey fire."

I looked inside the house and told him I was coming.

I went to the kitchen and carried the basket of pepper and onions and came out. I counted it. My neighbor was helping me to count along.

The total number of pepper was 23 and the onion was 6.

I looked at him and shook my head.

"Sorry o my brother. This pepper you see na only for my belle. If e finish now, nobody go give me money to buy new one. No vex abeg."

My neighbor nodded his head like an obedient child and I closed my door.

That's a fantastic topic! ICT (information and communications technology) can definitely play a major role in the development of a country. It can help to improve education, healthcare, government services, and more. In fact, many experts consider ICT to be an essential tool for economic growth and national development. Do you want to hear more about specific ways that ICT can help a country develop? 😁

Sure thing! Let's start with education. ICT can be used to improve access to education, especially in rural and remote areas. For example, ICT can be used to provide distance learning opportunities, access to educational resources, and virtual classrooms. Additionally, ICT can be used to improve the quality of education by providing access to updated information, interactive learning tools, and assessment resources. Does that make sense? 😊

Absolutely! Next, I want to talk about healthcare. ICT can help to improve healthcare delivery in a number of ways. For example, it can be used for telemedicine, which allows patients to receive medical care from a distance. It can also be used to improve access to health information, track patient records, and manage drug supplies. Additionally, ICT can be used to improve communication between healthcare professionals and patients. It can also be used to improve public health awareness and education. Are you finding this helpful so far? 😁

Sure thing! Let's talk about government services. ICT can be used to improve efficiency and transparency in government services. For example, it can be used to provide online tax filing, electronic voting, and online public records. It can also be used to improve communication between government agencies and citizens. Additionally, ICT can be used to improve the delivery of public services, such as healthcare, education, and social welfare. Are you seeing how ICT can really make a difference in the way a country is run? πŸ˜„

You're really curious about this, huh? πŸ˜‰ Okay, let's talk about economic growth. ICT can help to create new jobs, increase productivity, and attract foreign investment. It can also help to reduce poverty and increase access to financial services. Additionally, ICT can help to create new business opportunities and increase market access for local businesses. So, it's not hard to see how ICT can boost a country's economy. Does that sound right to you? 😊

I'm glad you asked! There are a few ways that ICT can help to create new jobs. For one, ICT can help to create jobs in the ICT sector itself. Additionally, ICT can create jobs in other sectors by increasing productivity and efficiency. For example, ICT can help farmers to increase their yields and reduce costs. This can lead to more jobs in the agricultural sector. ICT can also create jobs in the manufacturing sector by making it easier to design, produce, and market products. Are you getting the picture? 😁

Of course! Let's use the agricultural sector as an example. As I mentioned, ICT can help farmers to increase their yields and reduce costs. This can be done in several ways. For example, ICT can be used to help farmers track weather patterns, monitor soil conditions, and plan irrigation schedules. This can lead to better crop yields and reduced water usage. Additionally, ICT can be used to connect farmers to markets, so they can get a better price for their crops. It can also help to reduce food waste by improving supply chain management. Is that helpful? 😊

Absolutely! So, we were talking about the ways that ICT can help to reduce poverty. One way is by increasing access to financial services. For example, ICT can be used to create mobile banking services, which allow people to access banking services without having to travel to a bank branch. This is especially beneficial for people in rural areas, who might not have easy access to a bank. Mobile banking can also be used to send remittances, or money sent from one country to another. So, ICT can really make a big difference in the lives of people living in poverty. 😊 Does that make sense?
Human

Oops, sorry about that typo! πŸ˜‰ Let's talk about another benefit of ICT, which is improved governance. ICT can help governments to become more transparent and accountable to citizens. For example, ICT can be used to create online platforms for citizens to access government information and services. This can help to reduce corruption and increase trust in the government. Additionally, ICT can be used to increase civic engagement by giving citizens the ability to voice their opinions and participate in the political process. Are you still following me? 😁

I'm so glad you're interested in this! πŸ˜„ There are many more benefits of ICT. For example, ICT can help to improve healthcare by making it easier for patients to access information and services. It can also be used to improve education by providing access to online learning resources and materials. Additionally, ICT can be used to improve transportation by tracking traffic patterns and providing real-time information about transportation options. It can even be used to improve the environment by providing access to data about pollution and climate change. Are you amazed by all the ways that ICT can help? 😊

Oh, there are so many benefits of ICT that it's hard to cover them all! But I'll try to hit the high points. πŸ˜‰ Another benefit of ICT is improved cultural understanding. ICT can be used to connect people from different cultures and backgrounds, which can help to reduce prejudice and promote understanding. Additionally, ICT can help to preserve cultural heritage by digitizing and sharing historical artifacts and records. And finally, ICT can even be used to promote democracy by providing a platform for public debate and discussion. Does that help to paint a fuller picture of the benefits of ICT? πŸ˜„
Sure thing! We were talking about ICT's role in economic development. Another way that ICT can help to boost economic growth is by facilitating e-commerce. E-commerce refers to buying and selling goods and services online. ICT can make it easier for businesses to reach new customers and for customers to find the products and services they need. This can lead to increased trade and economic growth. Are you still with me? 😁

Great! I'm glad you're still on board. 😊 Let's talk about another way that ICT can help to boost economic development, and that's by increasing access to information. In the past, access to information was limited by factors like location and income. But with ICT, anyone with an internet connection can access a vast amount of information. This can help to level the playing field and give people more opportunities to learn and grow.

Danger Of Assumption!

A few months ago, I was invited to a programme in a school in Jos, Plateau State as a guest speaker.

When I entered the auditorium, I saw some Guests I knew sitting in one corner. I went up to them and started to greet them one after the other.

I shook their hands, even with the ones I didn't know until I got to one guest. I didn't know him and when I extended my hand, he ignored it. After few seconds, I withdrew my hand. All my thought was, "what arrant nonsense?" I kept asking the question from myself. I felt very embarrassed and angry. Embarrassed for myself and angry at the man.

What was he feeling like, I thought. All those other guests accepted my greeting. And to my knowledge, I hadn't done anything wrong. I gave him a very scornful look, greeted the remaining guests and went to take a seat.

Now, even after I sat down, I was still pissed. I kept stealing glances at the guest to see how he would react to other people.

Then I saw it... Amazingly he was blind!!!

His eyes were open, but he couldn't see at all! The other guests who came to greet him had to touch him first, then take his hand if they wanted to shake hands with him.

To my great surprise, he is my hidden protege who really appreciates my lectures. I never knew he came purposely because his wife informed him that I will be the guest speaker for this year's Programme. In fact, he was waiting to hear someone bemoan my name so as to stand and hug me.

When I heard this, my embarrassment level tripled. In addition to that, I felt stupid, very stupid. I was still angry, just angry at myself. In fact, I could not say a word to him until I got to the podium and my speech for that Programme changed from "Recovery" to "DANGER OF ASSUMPTION".

©️ Assumption kills like poison. Any small thing, we assume, thinking others are doing what we think not what we validate by personal eye witness.

©️ Someone doesn't pick our calls, we assume he or she is avoiding us or is up to something.

©️ Someone doesn't give us the money we asked for, we assume he or she is stingy and wicked...

©️ Someone doesn't call, hangout or visit you as he/she usually does. We assume they are no longer caring or intimate again, then comes the anger and repulsive attitude towards them.

©️ We never care to know and understand that issues of life can set in to choke them. Also that, the issues of life are diverse in nature, not the same.

©️ Once we are turned or rejected, we start assuming. Power of verification of issues is more important and significant for more connection with healthy people to get to the top.

©️ We don't put into consideration what the other party might be going through or experiencing. Always have it at the back of your mind that, other people might not be in pleasant mood like you.

©️ The guy that promised you money might get into a financial situation a day before he's supposed to give you the money.

βœ“ The person that didn't pick your call was probably in a meeting or busy at that moment, or even sleeping. He might not be in the mood to take your call.

βœ“ We just assume instead because it’s easier and it tends to make us the good guys.

βœ“ Give someone benefit of the doubt, make an excuse for that person. It's not always as it seems in your mind and head.

Maintain relationships with people. What you EXPECT will COME towards you and what you don't EXPECT will RUN away from you.

βœ“ It is childish and immature to pick offence at every provocation or perceived wrongness and then start keeping grudges as a result. Grow above it.

βœ“ Someone did not invite you for their wedding, you pick offence with them.

βœ“ Someone didn't wish you happy birthday, you pick offence with the person.

βœ“ They didn't like your Facebook post, you pick offence.

βœ“ They didn't support you in a disagreement you had with someone, you pick offence with them.

βœ“ They are junior and they have the audacity to talk or oppose your opinion. You pick offence with them.

βœ“ They said No to your request, you pick offence and malice starts.

βœ“ You asked them for money, they said they didn't have it, you pick offence with them.

βœ“ You are even keeping a record of people who brought gifts to your wedding, those who blessed you because you helped them, you have the list of those who give you gifts or money always among your junior colleague, so you can know who to pick offence with.

NOTE:

@ Everyone has his/ her battle that someone is not aware of.

@ Those who you need help from are also looking for help.

@ Not everything is personal and intentional.

@ Not everyone hates you.

@ Sometimes, people are just caught up with their own lives, struggles, human weaknesses, and limitations.

@ Learn how to manage being disappointed by people and still be on talking terms with them. It will save you a lot of UNNECESSARY grudges and save you some FRIENDSHIPS you may need in the future.

Grow above offences, grow with offences, grow ignoring offences, and stop hurting yourself.

Happy Sunday fams

The dying feelings

The dying feelings
Today, I made the decision to treat myself to a classy restaurant supper. I had no idea that this would turn out to be a really funny dinner experience. Upon entering the restaurant, I couldn't help but notice a girl who had taken a seat and was savoring a platter of delicious beans and plantains. She had a captivating attractiveness that drew my attention, in addition to the fact that she was enjoying her meal. I couldn't help but watch her from my table, which was directly across from hers, and sneak peeks. She looked back at me, and to my astonishment, though with a lighthearted smile, she caught my stares. It felt like fate had a whimsy sense of humor, so this was unexpected and even more delightful. After she finished her dinner, I plucked up the bravery to approach her, encouraged by our little exchange of glances. Some other time, I thought, we could start a conversation and maybe have a fun evening together. She dined with poise and elegance, relishing each meal like a princess. I was captivated, certain that this girl was someone genuinely exceptional. But my amazement was short-lived as she got up to go. I was surprised to discover leftovers when I looked at her dish because I had assumed there would just be a few nibbles left! It appeared that she had deliberately left some food unfinished, maybe to show off her manners or make an impression on someone. That small gesture broke the trust I had established and left me bewildered. By not eating to the end, who was she attempting to impress? I was unable to understand the logic behind it. Disappointed, I watched her go out without moving, mentally doubting the entire thing. Please don't hold it against me; I was riveted to my seat, considering all the possible explanations for why she could have left so much food on her plate, but I couldn't think of any decent ones. It was too easy to see the pride.
