Sitting high

This morning was church cleanup day, so I arrived early to join in. After the opening prayers, we had a short meeting where everyone was given refreshments. The atmosphere was lively, with people chatting and preparing for the cleanup. It felt good to be part of the team, knowing we were working together to keep the church clean and organized.

Once the cleaning started, I suddenly remembered something we used to do as kids. Back then, we would stack up plastic chairs and climb to the top just for fun. Feeling a bit nostalgic, I decided to try it again. I carefully arranged several chairs, making sure they were stable, then climbed up and sat at the highest point. The feeling was incredible, like I was on a throne, watching everything from above.

As I sat there, completely relaxed, I almost forgot about the cleanup going on around me. The cool breeze, the height, and the slight swaying of the chairs made it an oddly satisfying experience. I was enjoying my moment when, suddenly, I heard my leader’s voice calling my name. He was urging me to come down and lead the closing prayer. At that moment, I realized I had been sitting up there for quite some time, just enjoying the view.

With a smile, I climbed down from my "throne" and joined the group. Everyone was already gathered, waiting for the prayer to wrap up the day's work. I took a deep breath, cleared my mind, and led the closing prayer, thanking God for strength and unity.

A minute turned hour

A minute turned hour
Today, my department had a photo and video session after class. After the class ended, we were called to a specific spot to form letters with our bodies to represent the institutional TV sign for our department.

When we gathered, the sun was very bright, so we had some ice cream to cool down. At first, some people didn’t want to form straight letters, and we kept messing up. Every time we tried to make the letters right, someone would accidentally break the line, and we had to start over.

Despite the heat and the mistakes, we kept trying. Finally, we managed to line up correctly to form the letters. The photographer took our picture just as we posed together, proud of our teamwork.

After the session, we all enjoyed our ice cream and celebrated the fun experience we had.

I was ready to escape from the sun and crowd due to my just recovering health state, when I was ceased by a course mate who insisted on taking pictures with me, and when I thought it was all over, a friend came to join, a pair tagged in too.

Influenced Effect

Influenced Effect
I’ve always been someone who attended school early and never missed lectures. I would always sit in the front row during class, and my peers knew me as a very serious person. I wouldn’t say I was the brightest student, but I was certainly intelligent and knew how to handle my studies.

However, everything changed when I relocated and made a new friend in my department. Unfortunately, he turned out to be a bad influence. He often encouraged me to take things lightly, and as a result, my punctuality took a hit. Instead of leaving the house early for our 8 a.m. classes, he would ensure that we left at exactly 8 a.m just when class was starting.

Today was the worst example of this. We had an exam scheduled for 10 a.m., and instead of being prepared and arriving on time, I found myself scrambling at the last minute.

Just as we were about to leave our residence for school, another friend called to inform us that the exam had already started, and we were still far from campus. Panic set in, and we instantly began running. You can imagine how I was trying to maintain my composure, all while wearing my polished shoes, which quickly became covered in dust with every step.

When we finally arrived at the exam venue about ten minutes late, we faced additional delays. The invigilators lingered before allowing us in, and it took a lot of pleading and arguing before they would even listen to our explanations for our tardiness. It was a humiliating experience.

In that moment, I made a decision: instead of letting someone else’s negative influence drag me down, I would focus on making a positive impact on my own life and choices.

Rush in Wetness

Rush in Wetness
I woke up for school, but this day was different. I had an exam that I was really worried about. As I got out of bed, I remembered everything that happened the night before—a mix of studying, dinner, and trying to finish my homework before going to sleep.

When I looked in my closet, I had a big surprise. My white shirts, which are part of my school uniform, were all dirty. I realized I had worn them all the day before, and the shirt I planned to wear for the exam was still stained. I started to feel panic rise inside me.

I thought hard for a solution. I remembered the sweater I borrowed from a friend. It could hide the messy shirt! But when I looked for it, I saw that it was too long for me to wear over a wet shirt, and I couldn’t return it in bad condition. My heart sank even more.

Feeling desperate, I rushed to the wash basin and scrubbed the shirt as fast as I could. I hoped it would get clean and dry quickly. But as time passed, I grew more anxious.

Suddenly, my phone buzzed. I looked at the message and saw that the exam was postponed! I felt a mix of relief and frustration. I had spent so much time cleaning a shirt that I didn’t need to wear anymore.

Even with the news, I still needed to go to school, so I put on the wet shirt and ran out. The outside air was chilly, and I felt nervous about how I looked, but I tried to smile as I walked to school.

As the day went on, I felt tired and kept thinking about my choices. When I finally got home, I felt sick from the cold and the stress of the day

you should know

you should know
I was thinking this evening, and I thought about how I performed academically when I was still with my parents until I moved out independently to study in my 300 level. I noticed a significant difference in my academic performance, and now I could understand why. Back then, while I was living with my parents and siblings, I usually turned off the light at night before sleep. Most times, I drank coffee in the morning. However, after I moved out, I cut down on my coffee intake, and there was usually light—my light was on 24/7. I hadn’t known that this was affecting me, particularly my memory consolidation and retention, until I read an article recently about how these little things can impact memory retention and cognitive functions.

In addition to the insights I gained from the article, I realized that exposure to blue screens also significantly impacted cognitive function. I became increasingly aware of how much time I used to spend on my phone and other screens, prompting me to dive deeper into this topic. I wanted to enlighten others about the myriad of ways these small factors can affect memory and overall physiological functions.

First and foremost, exposure to blue light interferes with our sleep patterns. This disruption not only hampers our ability to fall asleep but also disturbs our circadian rhythms during the night. As a result, this affects memory retention. Interestingly, while coffee can enhance brain retention to some extent, it is also crucial to recognize the importance of quality sleep and the darkness we experience during that rest.

Understanding these connections has been enlightening, and I think it’s vital for everyone to learn this and keep it in mind.

Paying it forward

Paying it forward
As I watched students rushing around, I felt a wave of memories wash over me. Just two years ago, I was one of those nervous second-year students, studying hard for a tough exam. Many students had failed that course, and I remembered how stressful it was.

I saw my classmates flipping through textbooks and writing notes. They looked stressed, and I felt some sympathy for them. I remembered all the late nights and cups of coffee I had gone through to prepare.

Let's go back to the main business of the day as I wouldn't want to waste my entire morning on things that wouldn't benefit me. Just then the memories of a senior colleague who happened to be of a great help and assistance during those hard times and how we had grown close while studying together.

Feeling inspired, I decided to talk to some students nearby. I walked over to a group at a table covered with books. “How’s the studying going?” I asked with a smile.

They looked surprised. One student admitted, “It’s overwhelming. This course feels impossible.”

I remembered those feelings from two years ago. “I know how you feel,” I said. “But it’s manageable. I got through it.” I shared some powerful mnemonics that will help them remember some important points, and I left them with some tips on staying organized and taking breaks. Their faces brightened, and soon they were laughing.

After a good chat, I wished them luck and went to my usual study spot. I didn’t get my favorite table, but I felt good for helping others who were facing the same challenges I once had.

As I opened my textbooks, I felt a boost of energy. I thought about how important it is to encourage each other. Today was about more than just my studying; it was about building a supportive community. With that in mind, I dove into my work, grateful for how far I had come.

Knowing Your Worth: A Lesson in Self-Respect

Last year, I found myself in a situation that taught me a valuable lesson about self-worth. I had mustered up the courage to ask someone special out on a relationship, only to be rejected. But that wasn't the hardest part – it was what came after. She asked if we could just be friends, and I declined.

At first, it might seem harsh or prideful, but for me, it was a matter of self-respect. I knew that accepting her offer would have meant settling for something less than what I deserved. It would have been a compromise, a consolation prize.

But here's the thing: I'm not desperate. I'm not so eager to be in someone's life that I'll accept any terms. And I'm certainly not a coward who will hide in the friend zone, hoping that someday things might change.

Men, like fine wine, only get better with age. But sometimes, we forget our own worth. We settle for less, we compromise, and we lose sight of what we truly deserve.

I've had no regrets about my decision. In fact, it's been liberating. Since then, she's tried to reach out, but I haven't looked back. Why? Because I know my worth. I know that I deserve someone who wants me for who I am, without conditions or compromises.

So, to all the men out there, remember this: you are worthy of love, respect, and happiness. Don't settle for anything less. Don't be afraid to walk away from something that doesn't serve you. And never, ever forget your own worth.

Celebration outside

On my birthday, all I really wanted was to stay home, cook some nice meals, and enjoy myself in peace. But school had other plans for me. They scheduled three classes on the same day, leaving me no choice but to spend my special day on campus. It wasn’t the kind of birthday I had hoped for, but I had to make the best of it.

The day was tiring and stressful as I moved from one class to the next, barely having time to even think about my birthday. I couldn’t celebrate the way I wanted, but what made it better was the thoughtfulness of people around me. Friends and loved ones called and sent messages, reminding me that I was still being celebrated, even in the middle of my busy day.

Though it wasn’t the celebration I had imagined, I felt grateful for the people who took the time to wish me well. Their kind words and messages helped me get through the day, and despite the stress, I still found a reason to smile.

First Experience in Hostel

First Experience in Hostel
The first time I moved into the hostel, I never once considered that people could be so mean and cruel. After washing my clothes, I approached the public line to hang them up, only to find that all the lines were occupied, leaving no space for my things.

As I touched some of the clothes already hanging there, I realized they were dry. I decided to carefully move them to one side to create some space. I stacked the dry clothes neatly and spread out my new uniform, my selection of white shirts on the line I had just cleared for myself.

I felt a sense of happiness and satisfaction once I was done. However, when I went inside and returned two hours later, I was shocked to see my clothes and white shirts lying on the ground. Someone had taken the clothes I had moved aside and thrown my garments onto the ground. I was deeply disappointed.

From that day henceforth, I usually woke up very early each time that I wanted to wash my clothes with the lines free at that time of the morning.

Let the war begin

Let the war begin
This morning’s exam was nothing short of chaos. The lecturer in charge wasn’t from our department, and we’d already heard he had a tough character. Before he arrived, our department’s staff had done a good job arranging the seats and briefing us. Everyone was ready to begin when he finally walked in, and that’s when the drama started.

He got into a heated argument with the other lecturers, claiming we weren’t supposed to take the exam. For several minutes, we just sat there, watching them exchange words. Finally, he handed over the envelope with the question papers, but not without a condition, he announced that we must sit one person per seat. His instruction immediately messed up the seating arrangement, and students were moving around trying to figure out where to sit.

Frustrated with the confusion, the man completely lost his cool. He grabbed the question papers, stormed out of the hall, and left us all in shock. Some of us laughed while others were just confused.

After what felt like forever, he returned. He looked calmer and began distributing the question papers without saying much. We finally got to write the exam.

Another Opportunity

Another Opportunity
To the Glory of God the Father ,the Son, and the Holy Spirit. I am your Beloved brother Victor saved by God's Grace from Cultism to Christ.

Some years ago after completing my secondary school certificate examination ssce, i fortunately gained admission into a federal university in Enugu State University, Nigeria after my family refused me attaining NDA Kaduna due to the death of a Colonel's son. It was a moment I have been waiting to see myself in the higher institution some day because my dream was to get an opportunity to achieve my desired goal in life.
It was a time to choose a career for myself in other to exploit and make the whole family proud. The ego of now been a university student was also there knowing well that their are some of my mates who are still seeking for admission.
Little did i realize until I was a victim that the campus is more of frivolities and evil engagements that can change a person's good focus into living a life that doesn't care about the future. I was already into a close friendship with a boy called Ezenwabefore I noticed he is a member of a secret cult. On many occasion we have been going out together to attend parties and bear joints.
Sometimes we spend the whole night browsing in cafés to practice crypto transactions . We spend many times in Smoking Cigarettes with alcohol alongside to fornicate with ladies.
This continued for long until a particular night one of them got annoyed with me for carelessly mentioning a slang that belongs to the cult group.
This matter was so serious that I was reported to their leaders and summoned for a dialogue to come and join the cult group otherwise i will continue to be threatened.
So my co-sinner friend Ezenwa came to speak with me and advised me that joining the cult group will be the best option for me if i want quick relief from this people.
But i never knew that there are some stupid decisions that can ruin a person's life in a seconds. And there are some careless choices that can re-arrange a person's career into a low quality of life.
After much persuasion ,I choose to join the cult and initiation was conducted on a day not disclosed to us because we are two that was initiated the same day into the cult group. We were told to off our clothes and lie down facing the ground inside the jungle.
What followed next was a severe continuous beating and torture with harmful objects for over an hour.
The initiation process was extremely dangerous and life threatening in fact, I was told that some might not make it out of the jungle alive and that's why the initiation day was undisclosed to us.
Meaning that if anyone had died during the initiation his/her corps will just be dumped somewhere and will not be easily traced to them no matter how.
We were made to crawl naked in a devil's passage formed by the existing members that were present at our initiation.
After that ,i was given a moulded substance that looked like an egg to swallow alongside with some other things that space/time couldn't allow me to write all here. I was also told to recite a compulsory pledge of allegiance to the cult ,devoting my life with an oath that I'll be faithful and will never renounce my membership otherwise, I should bear the consequence.
Believe me that their is no greater consequence to be compared with the one Sinners who died in their Sins without Repentance will face in Hell-fire for rejecting the saviour Jesus Christ.
After I recited the pledge and took the oath, I was then given a new name and told to check mine in the dictionary which happened to be a name of an animal .
Imagine!!!
Living a life of an animal is what next after a semi- experience of hell in the jungle.
That is why major society criminal acts can easily be linked with secret cult members such as; Kidnapping, Sexual assault, Armed robbery, Hard drugs, Intimidation of others,Fraudulence, etc.. And other related animal behaviors.
Some of the foolish reasons why many students joined cult groups are
#Quest for recognition & Popularity
#Quest for power and search for Protection
# License to oppress & to revenge
# Desire for Social competition and other unreasonable things.
I have come to discover that stupid decisions are decisions with a very little or no gain but always with a colossal negative consequence of life.
"For What Shall it Profit a Man If he shall gain the whole World and loses his own Soul " Mark 8:36.
The Bible is saying that even to gain the whole world at the expense of the Salvation of your Soul is a Loss to your entire lifetime.
And the greatest evil that can endanger your poor soul is to care for it outside Jesus Christ . So even if you're not a Cultist but just a common Sinner not saved yet, then you're the greatest enemy of your soul if you die in such pitiful situation.
After i managed to survive the initiation process I became so desperate for power and seeking more charms because of interfraternity clashes that is common between rival cult groups.
There are hundreds of cult groups in this nation that Satan has been using as a medium to unleash blood shed within and outside campus environment. Eg.Klu Klux Klan(KKK) , Knight- Cadet, Neo , Aloras, Pirates, Temple of Eden, Eyes, Daughters of Jezebel, Black bras, Blue Angels, Red fishes, Buccaneers, Greenish fraternity etc...
Satan has angrily programmed a scheme of destruction for the careless Youths that will reject Christ in this Endtime.
Please if you're a youth and you're reading this, do not be deceived to continue in your sins because the Enemy of your Soul is too violent and working tirelessly on how he could send you to Hell before you repent. And you could be Satan's victim as long as you're living in Sin not necessarily until you're a secret cult member.
"Be Sober, be vigilant ; because of your adversary the devil ,as a roaring lion ,walketh about, seeking for whom he may devour:" 1peter 5:8
So I was introduced to an herbalist who promised to help me get some powers for personal safety but his first dealing with me was so hard because he gave me 3 tiger razor blade with some powdered concoction to chew and swallow. I did it under a fearful compulsion alongside with some other terrible things because i was indeed seeking for powers.
Dear reader, did you know that with all this things I still lack inner peace because I was not walking in the path of God for my life.
The true and reliable power comes from God alone through Jesus Christ the Saviour. Only in Him you can find Salvation and Safety for your Soul .
Neither is their salvation in any other for there is none other name under heaven given among men ,whereby we must be saved" Acts 4:12

Power of prayers

Power of prayers
I called my mother about five days ago to relate to her about my supervisor and how he has been incompetent and very wicked concerning our seminar differences. I had come to my mum, and she promised to take action about it. Well, first, she went to the prayer house and collected some Bible verses.

She was determined to pray for me and my situation, believing that divine intervention could help turn things around. My mother went on to share the verses with me, encouraging me to meditate on them and trust that things would improve. She always had a way of uplifting my spirits.

In the following days, I noticed a slight shift in my supervisor's behavior. While I wouldn't say he completely changed overnight, there were moments when he seemed less critical and more open to dialogue. I continued to follow my mother’s advice, praying and holding onto hope.

But I also knew I had to take some proactive steps. I started preparing for the seminar more diligently, gathering my materials and reviewing my presentations. I wanted to be well-prepared, not only to impress my supervisor but also to prove to myself that I could rise above the challenges.

My supervisor call me just some days ago, apologizing for how things had gone and a possible solution to it.
It was just a miracle! And prayers can never be overrated.

Manner Of Approach

Manner Of Approach
I was very tired after my lectures in the evening, and began walking back home when I met our university security officer, quarrelling with a certain guy in front of the university's sport field, to the extent that they almost exchanged blows. As tired as I was, I was forced to stop and asked what the problem was. The field has a tennis court, basket ball court, football field, and an enough space for leisure and sitout. They were the only ones there.

The guy was about entering the field to have his quiet time, as there was no one else there. The security officer walked up to him and yelled at him to leave the field, the guy picked offense at the harsh behavior from the security officer. The guy told the security officer that he is a student, and asked why he's not allowed to enter the field, the security officer continued his reply in harsh and offensive tone, refusing to give the guy a reason.

This ignited the quarrel that almost led to exchange of fist blows. The field was restricted from student's access, no one was allowed to enter there, that's because a student was raped and killed there last semester, in the dark evening. So since then, the school authority banned everyone from going there, the guy had just returned from his Industrial Training (IT), so he didn't know about it. The security officer was bent on being rude to the guy, other than nicely explaining to the guy.

I explained to the guy why the field was restricted, he was okay with it, but still pissed off at how the security officer talked to him, he didn't know because he wasn't around. The security officer mellowed down after realizing that the guy wasn't around, he apologized to the guy for being harsh to him. The guy accepted the apology and went his way, it was a small issue, but have the potentials of escalating to something very big. The security officer should have been nice in his approach.

The two of them almost fought, if not that I intervened, something a little nice and soft approach would have handled nicely. The security officer was doing his job, but the manner he went about it was offensive. Words have ways of hurting people very deeply, especially when the person is passing through tough times, some sweet words will go a long way in healing the person a bit. No matter the circumstance, the first manner of approach should be gentle and nice, else, you risk sparking a fight that should have never been.

Village people dey

Village people dey
I was walking very slow to school today after I prepared early for classes. I started off walking slow and then when I was halfway in the journey, I saw one of my female crush, a beautiful girl, Favour is her name, when I saw her from afar, she was ahead of me. So I increased my pace in order to reach her so we could just talk and reach the school together.

We were conversing and I was maintaining my composure and everything was in order but all of a sudden my village people decided to call and my shoe began to make my toes uncomfortable.

When I looked, the mouth of the shoe was already open, the sole had been cut off and I hadn't known this all along.

Immediately I noticed that my shoe was in bad shape, I got a little bit embarrassed and I hoped she wouldn't look at my shoe. As we walked on and I do not know whether she noticed, but every eye that I saw seemed like they were looking at my shoe even when they weren't looking.
I couldn't go back home after the long walk, there was no repair shop around that area too, leaving me with the option to walk until I was close to my department.

Internal struggles

Internal struggles
I had practiced my seminar over and over again, going through every point in my head. Yet, as the moment drew closer, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of being unprepared. My heart was racing, and I started doubting myself. To calm down, I tried one of my favorite tricks – turning that fear into a source of confidence. I told myself, "If I can feel this nervous, it means I care enough to do my best."

As I sat outside the seminar room, waiting for my turn, a lecturer opened the door slightly. From where I was, I could see Patrick standing confidently, arms crossed, answering questions from the panel. I watched closely, and instead of feeling more nervous, I felt relief. He was almost done, which meant my wait was nearly over too. The thought of finally getting it over with eased my tension.

When Patrick stepped out, he gave me a reassuring dap and said, "You’ve got this!" That simple gesture boosted my confidence even more. I stood up, took a deep breath, and walked into the room. My nerves were still there, but they didn’t overwhelm me. I focused on everything I had practiced and spoke clearly, answering their questions as best as I could.

To my surprise, the seminar turned out to be a huge success. The panelists were engaged, nodding in agreement, and their questions felt manageable. By the time I walked out of that room, I couldn’t believe how well it went. What I thought would be terrifying ended up being one of my proudest moments. Fear had tried to hold me back, but in the end, it fueled my success.

The cost of conformity

The cost of conformity
When my lecturer yelled, "If you bring that hair back to my office, I won't attend to you," I knew she meant business. She was one of the strictest in my department, and while most of the other lecturers never minded my hair since I always kept it combed and neat, this particular woman seemed to have a serious problem with it. Her irritation was clear, and I didn’t want to risk any issues with her course.

Stepping outside, I thought long and hard about my options. Keeping my hair meant appearing stubborn, and that could backfire during the semester. Reluctantly, I decided it was best to trim it down. I walked to the nearest barbershop, sat in the chair, and told the barber to make it low. It felt like a small price to pay for peace with my lecturer, but little did I know it would open a whole new set of problems.

The reactions were immediate and brutal. My friends and classmates couldn’t stop teasing me. They said I looked like a monkey, a new primary school student, and even a newly admitted boarding school kid. The taunts came from everywhere. People weren’t used to seeing me with a low cut, and honestly, I wasn’t used to it either. It was embarrassing, but I had to endure their jokes and awkward stares for the next two months until exams were over.

From that experience, I made a decision: never again. No matter who complains or what the stakes are, I’ve sworn to keep my hair. That semester taught me more than just academics, it taught me the cost of trying to please everyone.

making the most of extra time

making the most of extra time
It was a bright Monday morning, and I was excited but nervous. Today was my presentation day. I had worked hard on it for weeks and couldn’t wait to share it. Even though I had wasted extra time maybe to prepare harder and build this core confidence.

When I got to school, I took my seat in the classroom. The first few students presented, and I felt my excitement grow, and I can't wait to share my thoughts

Some part of me was already telling me that I might not present considering the number of students and the the little delay the lectures had, though they tried to catch up with time

He rushed through the presentations, and I waited for my turn. Just when I thought it was almost my time, the lecture said he couldn’t continue. He was too tired and promised we would start with me next week.

I felt frustrated. I had spent the whole day waiting, and now I had to wait even longer. I walked home feeling disappointed.

When I got home, I dropped my bag and lay on my bed. I thought about how I had imagined sharing my work. But then I realized I still had a week to prepare. I decided to use that time to make my presentation even better. Next week, I would be ready.

INCOMPETENCE

INCOMPETENCE
If you all remember, I wrote a story about my project supervisor and how untalented he was when it came to our meeting schedules. His indolent nature had always deprived us of making progress with our project and seminar work. Knowing this, I proposed submitting a formal letter to address both his laziness and his indifferent behavior toward our work.

After I got in contact with the staff member in charge of student affairs, she advised me to approach my project supervisor gently. She also suggested that she would join in to help encourage him to be more engaged in our meetings.

Following her advice, I arranged a casual meeting with my supervisor, expressing appreciation for his guidance while subtly mentioning the issues we had been facing.

After I had the meeting with him, it became clear that he wasn't acting differently or making significant progress regarding our work. As a group, we decided that it would be better for us to work individually and improve our projects, unlike other groups that were having regular meetings with their supervisors who provided them with guidance and instructions. In our case, we received no specific instructions from him, aside from his attempts to correct our work. Simply coming to school to review our progress appeared to be a major inconvenience for him, resulting in us waiting countless times and weeks without complaints, as we were all just students.

I struggle even now to express my concerns. The main issue arose when it was announced that we would be presenting and defending our seminar work a few weeks after the Christmas celebration. I reached out to him to request that he come and sign our approval form, but he informed me that he wouldn't be returning anytime soon and didn't offer any suggestions.

On the day of the seminar defense, I contacted him by phone, only to have him turn the situation around on us. He claimed that we had been unserious all along and said he had been begging us to take our work seriously. His statement offended me, especially since I was speaking to him through my phone at that moment. It really pissed me off.

To make matters worse, he reached out to other panel members who were judging the seminar defense and recording scores, telling them that we weren't serious. The only approval he granted was for a girl he was interested in, claiming she was the only one who took her work seriously. However, I knew very well that this girl was not serious at all. In fact, that same morning, she had sent me her seminar work to help her arrange into slides. Her references were poorly done, and her outline was terrible. Despite this, I helped her as much as I could and advised her to meet with a cyber cafe expert the following morning, which she did.

Now, we were not able to do our presentations, and I’m still reflecting on the whole experience and the best action to take at this point.

Puzzled Language

Puzzled Language
It's been a long while since we started sharing eye contact. I noticed this beautiful girl starting from my first year, 100 level. She was pretty, and I can say for myself that I was too handsome. Most times, I still get most of these girls, you know, under my beck and call. But I was a disciplined guy all the way. Even though someone flirts and they come into my direct message box to message me and text me all sorts of flirty things, I always stay true to myself and my discipline. I've come from a not-too-rich, less able background, and I haven't come to this university to frolic with girls or anything like that. The Lord has continued to sustain me all this while, and I owe Him all my respect and my integrity.

Three years into the university, I think having a girlfriend for myself wouldn't be a bad deal any longer. As I told you before, I believe I need to have that experience, and then this girl came to mind. She has always been secure and has acted disciplined all the way, except when she’s around me. She always likes to sit near me, keeps seats for me during lectures, and frequently checks up on me through phone calls, texts, and physical meetings. I've never heard that she was in a relationship or flirting with other guys, so she seemed like the best option.

I approached her, talked to her, and even took her on a date, but she said we could still be friends. I don’t understand what that statement means, especially since she also said she was not in a relationship.

Wrong Kitchen

It wasn't like I stayed for the holiday long in my home; I actually just stayed a week. But upon returning, I noticed something that shocked me and pulled me off my feet. It was a shocking sight.

As I saw the packet of spaghetti that I had reserved for myself all littered on the ground, my heart sank. I had left about five packs of spaghetti, and I was only seeing two intact. The other three were in shreds. It was a rat. A rat had come into my home and destroyed things this way. I wondered about the root or the hole they had come in from, but that wasn't my main concern at the moment.

First, I had to do my cleanup, and the kitchen was the most troubling part. It was really tiring, especially since I had returned late from my journey back home to where I resided close to school.

Well, just today, as luck might have it, I noticed something making a sound in my kitchen. I went in, and to my dismay, I found that the remaining two packets of spaghetti had been disturbed. The rat was gone. The rat was gone. The rat was gone. The rat was gone. The rat was gone. The rat was gone.

I took note that the rat was still in the house, so I prepared myself as I listened for any slightest sounds. I was just about to sleep when I heard another sound, so I picked up my broom and opened my kitchen door, waiting for it to run out. It didn't, so I hit the broom against the door, making a very loud noise, and then the rat came to where I stood. It was trying to escape through the door before my broom landed on it.

Exam obstacle

Exam obstacle
It was in my JSS1, that was in 2008/.. I had wanted to attend Nigeria military Secondary school unfortunately all flopped so i had to miss the whole of first term.. Second term i resumed at a private secondary school with assurance from my parents i would leave when am going to SS1..which later happened.
Second term, i resumed when the term has already gone far almost close to exam period.. Fast forward exams came, i had no friends yet, my notes where not up to date it was just me myself and i...I had to improvise.. I had just one option, exam malpractice (i was 10yrs). Back then we used pages from long notebook 'fuscap' as we called it then.
My first paper that term was agricultural science.. I took the Sunday night before Monday that the exam is scheduled for to draft my name, class date and all the necessary things written on the top right corner of a typical exam fuscap.. We used to have 20 objectives questions and 5 essays to answer 3. I would just number my fuscap from 1-20 and fill in alphabets from A-D as i deem fit.. Turn my fuscap and write out answers to four possible essay questions and go.
On the Monday of the exams i would enter exam hall with like four fuscap sheets and the one with answers amongst them.. Once exams starts i will pretend as if I am writing and thinking for like 45 minutes solving the objective part i would then boldly bring out the one with answers and strike lines on it like a canceled work, place it ontop of my desk and majestically write out the correct answers that are in them.. I did that for all my subjects then apart from maths and English without been caught for even a second.. After writing it, I always take excuse to use the restroom which I discard the one with answers..(nobody thought a 10yr old cold could pull that kind of a stunt).. I came out tops in my class that term.. I introduced myself to my classmates ina grand style. I remember a day I was nearly caught, I wanted to ease myself as usual but this day it didn't go as how others have been moving freely, that day my teacher was searching around my side and when I asked for permission, he declined. He continued searching, getting to my side, I nearly pissed on my uniform but God never and didn't disappoint me that day. Getting close to my desk, another teacher came in to inform him that the principal is calling him. That was how he left and this my school, once caught in malpractice, the student will be expelled. Nobody taught i would come out tops when i resumed barely weeks before exam...told my friends years later.. Them still no believe me till today..
I pulled that stunt just that term.
