Life doesn't allow us to go back and fix what we have done wrong in the past, but it does allow us to live each day better than our last.

This is not necessary at a time like this. There are more important bills to be sponsored.

I receive grace to stop whining about this nation going forward. Nothing has changed ever since. I've decided to turn my groaning into prayers.

How I lost a sum of money to a popular supermarket in Abeokuta due to my poor reading habits.

Steer clear of the trap! Check your supermarket bill

Steer clear of the trap! Check your supermarket bill
Do you cross-check the receipt after payment?

I want out this afternoon to get some groceries for home use.

After selecting what I needed. I moved swiftly to the payment point and then quickly moved to a less populated point.

I handed over my ATM card to her. My bill was calculated in the usual way and the money was debited.

The receipt was handed over to me without cross-checking what she had calculated and then I moved to the exit door.

Though, I was not in a hurry. I trusted her that she had done justice based on what I bought.

Then, something prompted me to even check the receipt. At first glance, I noticed the tax deducted was much, but nothing I could do about it.

On getting home, I brought my mobile phone out to even do the calculation by myself so I could know how much tax was collected on items bought.

I was furious when I discovered I could not reconcile what I had calculated to what was printed out as a receipt, the sum of 1,100 was missing. Mehn I was sweating like....

It was then, that I began to suspect that something was fishing. Thereafter, I had a close look at the receipt. I traced the products one after the other with the number of the items I bought, coupled with the price.

It was too late to realize that she multiplied a particular product to be two, instead of one.

Now I can't go back to the supermarket because I have no proof. Had it been, I had checked the receipt accordingly before leaving the supermarket I couldn't have lost my #1,100.

"Don't count your chickens before they hatch" is a proverbial expression meaning not to rely on something before it actually happens or materializes. In other words, don't make plans or assume success until you're certain of the outcome. It emphasizes the importance of being cautious and not becoming overly confident or presumptuous about future events.

We have not chosen you to compare where we were to where we are now. The only language Nigerians can understand now is to bring the prices of foodstuff and other commodities down. It is as simple as ABC. no need for blowing grammar.

"It is better not to have become a champion than to be an ex-champion while still at one’s prime. The pain of the ex-champion is not the bruises on his body, it is the shame of walking in the streets and seeing those that had been hailing him as a champion suddenly turn their faces away from him.". ~ Today's Open Heavens.
