Solomon

There lived a boy named Solomon. He was known for having a bigger head than most children his age. Although his head size didn't really bother him, Solomon's stubborn nature often got him into trouble.

In school, Solomon would often tease and bully his classmates because he believed that having a bigger head made him superior. He would make fun of their clothing, their hobbies, and even their grades.

One day, a slim and small kid named David transferred to Solomon's school. Despite his size, David exhibited a strong sense of confidence and intelligence. He noticed how Solomon's actions were hurting his peers, and he decided to do something about it.

With his calm approach, David approached Solomon and said, "Hey Solomon, I've noticed that you've been teasing and bullying others. Do you think that's fair? Wouldn't it be better if we all treated each other with kindness and respect?"

Solomon scoffed, not taking David seriously. "Why should I listen to you, you skinny little nobody? My head is much bigger than yours!"

Undeterred, David replied, "Size doesn't determine a person's worth or character, Solomon. It's what's inside and how we treat others that truly matters."

Solomon rolled his eyes but couldn't help but be intrigued by David's words. There was something different about this slim kid. He seemed confident and wise beyond his years.

As time went on, David continued to show kindness to everyone, including Solomon. He would offer help, share his knowledge, and even compliment others. His behavior began to influence Solomon, who started observing his actions closely.

One day, when Solomon witnessed David standing up for a classmate who was being bullied, he couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration. He realized that it wasn't his head size that made a difference, but his character and the way he treated others.

Filled with remorse for his past actions, Solomon approached David and apologized for his behavior. "I'm sorry, David. You were right. It's not about the size of my head; it's about how I treat others. I want to change and be a kinder person."

David smiled warmly and said, "Solomon, it takes courage to admit your mistakes and want to change. I believe in you, and I know you can become a better person."

Protest

We had just heard of the call-off order by the governor of the state instructing indigenes to stop observing the usual sit-at-home orders on Mondays.

People couldn't obey the instructions due to fear, gunmen usually paraded the road and most time, they deal with defaulters.
After the news of the Governor's order was disseminated, people rumoured and trembled at the repercussions of continuing with their business on that day.

He came around with armored cars and several security bodies who were armed to the tooth.
They passed a fine bill on the business centers that weren't open. It was a #100,000 fine for defaulters to pay not considering the economics situation.

On Tuesday, business owners and managers weren't having it. It was inappropriate to extort such amount from those who simply were protecting their lives.

The next day, they took to the streets on a protest movement. They cutoff all banners having pictures of the state governor and littered the road to portray their annoyance.

It didn't end well by the way, some incurred severe injuries when the force was sent to restrict the movement. There were more critical casualties.

My lift

My secondary school days were among the fun times in my life. Though not seemingly fun then but reminiscing over that last and the presents provides a prudent answer.

The distance from home to school was far, very far I must say, about an hour and 30 minutes fast walk. But we don't mind, we never mind walking it 😂.

With friends, the distance always seemed shortened. We just save up our supposed transport fare so we can buy larger snacks during real-time in school.

Most often when we are running late, we do wait along a long tarred path definitely after walking an hour walk.
Free lifts do give people free rides there to the junction and that saves a lot of energy and time.

This particular day, we were running late and decided to wait for a free lift. While waiting, someone I knew stopped for me, he drove a mate-mortorcycle. I was running to meet up with it when a female in senior class who was also waiting for a free ride ran ahead and mounted the motorcycle🥴.

He didn't even check if it was me who mounted it, he zoomed off and almost immediately, the force jerked the senior off. She landed with a loud crash. Her nyash slamming the hard floor😔

And then he looked back and called me, I ran to him and mounted it, shaa I said sorry to the fallen victim 😂.
