Witness to God′s Mercy

Witness to God′s Mercy
As I was walking down the path with my umbrella, I heard a loud crash. It was such a shocking sound that I quickly unplugged my earpiece. When I looked up, I saw two cars that had crashed right next to me! They were sliding on the slippery road after the rain.
Not like overturned, they were just pushing each other along the road as an effect of the collided force.

How life could be gone in an instant, it could be anyone else. The people around began to gather around the spot, ready to help if theres meed to and I joined too.

At first, I felt scared about what I would see. But then, I noticed that the crash wasn't as bad as the sound made it seem. The drivers got out of their cars, looking surprised but okay. A wave of relief washed over me.

We all stood there for a moment, taking in what had just happened. I felt grateful to see everyone safe. The drivers began to thank each other for being unharmed, and we all looked up and thanked God that day.

As I continued my walk, I thought about how quickly things can change and how important it is to appreciate life. Happy Sunday.

The best of plans

The best of plans
This morning, I wanted to get to church early. I wasn’t feeling great, so I thought it would be good to start the day right. I planned to wake up early and take my devices to my friend’s house, which is near the church. I knew this would take some time, so I made sure to leave early.

Our street light was having faults and we have not perceived electricity for some days now.
I had already contacted a friend who lived close to the church and as he confirmed that their vicinity had electricity, I planned how to cover the distance and still make it in church early.

After I arrived at my friend’s place, I plugged in my phone and other devices to charge. Then, I went to church.

I was so happy because I got to church 15 minutes before the service started! I sat in the front row and looked around. I felt ready to pray.

The Sunday was very nice, and now I’m back home, feeling good about my time at church.

Me and the greeny thingny

Me and the greeny thingny
When I was about four years younger, there was a guava tree next to our house that I loved to climb. I felt like an explorer, sitting up high and looking at the pretty view. But one day, everything changed.

I was up there in thd tree, daydreaming and watching the clouds float by, when suddenly I saw something that made my heart stop. I quickly took a closer look and saw a tail slithering up the branches. Oh no! It was a green snake!

I freaked out! My brain started racing. What should I do? Make friends with it? Offer it a guava? Nah, definitely not! So, I called for my brother, running around the tree like a crazy person. “Help! There’s a snake! A bright green one, it will bite me!"

But my brother was inside, happily munching on snacks and totally oblivious of the trauma that I was facing. I decided I had to jump down from the tree. I looked at how tall it really was, and guess what? It wasn’t that tall after all (this judgement was out of panicked)

So, with all the bravery left in me, I leaped off the tree and landed on the ground with a thud. I was safe! But I didn’t waste any time. I ran inside faster than I ever had, craving some chilled water to calm my nerves.

When I got inside, I flopped onto the floor, panting like I’d just run a marathon. I couldn't wait to tell everyone about my big adventure. “I have an amazing story!” I shouted, waving at my other siblings who were engrossed looking at a movie.

Immediately I mentioned that a snake was close by, they all gathered around me as I spilled my story to them.

Lost Routine

Lost Routine
Yesterday, I finally broke free from my busy student life and put on my shoes for a Saturday jog. I had been so occupied in the previous months that I hadn’t had the chance to get outside and run, but something about yesterday filled me with determination. I decided it was time to reclaim my Saturdays.

As I approached the school stadium, I felt a familiar air that I always felt In the past.
Before, I usually ran at least 15 laps around the stadium before getting tired, but this time felt different. By the time I completed my third lap, I was already gasping for air, feeling like every pore on my body was begging for me to stop and breathe.
I continued, telling myself that it was just a matter of getting back into the swing of things.

However, on the ninth lap, I could feel my legs starting to protest angrily. I had to stop. I was out of breath and my muscles were beginning to ache.
Strangely enough, I wasn’t too disappointed. It felt as if I was re-learning how to run again after being away from the tracks for long. I reminded myself that with a little persistence, I’d soon be back to my old self, maybe even running like a pro again.

Happy Sunday!

Struggling Expert

Struggling Expert
After being away from his hometown for almost two years, Ebuka returned feeling like a "city boy", ready to impress everyone with his City experiences. He boasted to his friends and fellow townspeople with tales of steady electricity, claiming that during global power outages, he would have to take charge and switch on his uncle's solar inverter himself. His stories amazed and impressed everyone, feeling fly and superior.

To further solidify his city boy image, Ebuka boasted about driving his uncle's fancy cars, despite being just 18 years old. His friends and the community were in awe, believing every word he said. At least they regarded h with respect.

One day, a local resident lost consciousness while driving, and Ebuka was called upon to drive the car to safety. As he got behind the wheel, his feet started trembling, and his confident began to crumble (papa no sabi drive o). Despite his claims of being a skilled city driver, he found himself unable to handle the pressure of the situation. The car wouldn't move, or rather he didn't know where to touch or match, he just sat inside staring at the steering with teary eyes.

The townspeople watched in disbelief as Ebuka struggled to control the car, realizing that his city boy image was not quite what it seemed. To his relief, another experienced driver quickly took over.

Immediatey someone took over, Ebuka claimed down and thanked God for his life before scampering away for home, his friends laughed as they chased after him.
