Door conversation

Door conversation
We were called for a sudden lecture by one of our stubborn lecturers who doesn't value our space nor does he work with our timetable. He fixes classes anytime he feels like.

After I arrived home after the stressful hot day, before I forget, the class ended around 4pm and while I was on my way back, it started raining and I had to wait under a shade along the way for close to two hours.

When I arrived home, I embraced my bed and slept like a baby. When I woke, I had to figure out what to eat.
I quickly walked down to a shop that sold foodstuffs down the street, I got some okro and vegetables which I made soup with.

I was done dressing my bed and ready to retire to bed when my friend came around. He was just passing, but after we exchanged pleasantries, a word led to another.
Funny enough, we stood at the door discussing for close to 3hrs, it was so funny when we realised how far we had stood and conversed, though he was just passing.

A New Likeness

A New Likeness
I visited my cousin’s house about a week now. I was excited to see him, but when I got there, I noticed something very interesting, it was a small dog.

Shaa, I’m not usually a fan of dogs. They can be loud and jumpy, and I usually prefer to stay away from them. But this little dog was different. It had curly hair all over and was so small and friendly. It shaked it's so fast when I walked in, and I couldn’t help but smile.

At first, I watched the dog from a distance, but as time passed, I got closer. I sat down, and the dog came up to me, looking up with its big, sparkling eyes. It cuddled my hand playfully, asking for some love. I started to pet it, and lol, I'll be truthful, it was adorable.

As I spent more time with my cousin and the dog, I realized something, I was starting to like dogs. Not all dogs, but this special little dog. We played together, and it made me laugh with its silly hop from here and there.

Now that I’m back home, I can’t stop thinking about that little dog. I want one for myself! But then I remember that having a dog means spending money and taking care of it. I know I would have to make sure it eats well and stays healthy.

Agba Representative

Agba Representative
I was call to represent my football team in a community meeting. When the meeting started, the Chairman stood at the front, smiling and welcoming everyone. I listened carefully as people began to share their concerns and ideas. I was amazed at how cooperative everyone was about making our town a better place, I had thought that I would be meeting the village touts but no. Some spoke about improving local foot ball fields, while others discussed the need for better Agencies that could attract external relationships .

Finally, it was my turn to speak. I walked up to the front, my heart pounding. I looked out at the crowd and took another deep breath. “Hello, everyone! My name is Destiny and I’m here to share some ideas from my neighborhood.

I talked about our community set ups and how unorganized we were which needed more support, and how we could create fun events to bring people together. The crowd listened, some even nodding in agreement. As I spoke, I felt kingly inside. This was my moment to shine.

After I finished, I received applause, and I felt a big smile spread across my face, I couldn't even control it. I returned to my seat, my heart still racing, but i still felt proud as i listened as the redt made their nice contributions.

As people started to leave, many came up to me and said how much they liked my ideas.
That alone would be sufficient to make my whole week.

A mistake

A mistake
Last week was a big problem with my phone. It started freezing, and I got very frustrated. I couldn't use my apps or send messages without waiting. After a few days of this, I decided to do something.

I heard that clearing the app data for Chrome might help my phone work better. I went ahead and did it without thinking too much. I thought it would fix my phone, but I didn’t know it would cause more trouble!

The next morning, I woke up feeling hopeful. I wanted to log into my MindViewers account to catch up on things. But when I tried to sign in, I started to panic. I realized that clearing the app data had deleted all my logins and passwords. I couldn't remember my MindViewers password, and I struggled to think of it.

To make things worse, I had changed the email linked to my account recently and couldn’t remember my new email address. I felt completely lost and frustrated. I looked at my phone, feeling stuck, like I couldn't get in.

For a couple of days, I tried to stay calm, but it was hard. I searched through all my notes and tried every email I could think of. Every time I thought I had the right one, it was wrong. Just yesterday, something good happened, I backed up my google cloud and got my password back.
I had to wait out the 24hr interval until now.

Lost Hope for New Shoes

Lost Hope for New Shoes
I've been saving up for a new pair of shoes I saw two months ago, and I was so close to reaching my goal. Just last week, I only needed about 2,000 naira more to buy them. But then problem came.

My friend came over and borrowed my phone charger. I specifically told him to only use it in his house, but he didn't listen. He took the charger to a betting shop to charge his phone, and that's where the trouble started.

Someone in the shop swapped my charger with a fake one that doesn't work at all! Can you believe it? My friend was lucky they didn't steal his phone too. Maybe the thief took pity on him.

Because of my friend's carelessness, I had to use some of my savings to buy a new charger. I couldn't wait any longer, I needed it urgently. But now, I have to start saving all over again for my shoes. It's frustrating.

I'm still annoyed with my friend for not listening to me. If only he had followed my instructions, none of this would have happened. Now, I have to wait even longer to get my new shoes.

I'll be more careful about lending out my belongings, and I hope my friend learns to listen to instructions too.

Smart Scammers

Smart Scammers
my phone rang. The caller ID showed an unfamiliar number, but I answered it anyway. On the other end, a friendly voice introduced himself as a parish priest. I was surprised; I hadn't spoken to a priest in years, let alone one who was calling me out of the blue.

He went on to explain that he was reaching out about a grant application I had filled out three years ago. It seemed odd that they still had my information after all this time.
Maybe this was the good news I had been waiting for all this time. He told me that the grant was now active and that he wanted to send me some contact numbers to follow up.

I was puzzled and, honestly, a little hopeful. Maybe this was a blessing finally coming to fulfilment. The priest gave me a couple of phone numbers and encouraged me to reach out to them. With a renewed sense of optimism, I decided to give them a call.

After a few rings, a voice on the other end answered. I explained who I was and mentioned the call I received from the priest. They seemed friendly enough and quickly expressed that I had missed a seminar the previous week. I hadn’t even known about it; life had gotten in the way, as it often does. They began discussing the details of the grant, and I felt my excitement building up, as I imagined what I could do with the funds.

But then, as the conversation continued, I started to pick up on certain hints in their tone. I found myself feeling a bit uneasy. They suddenly mentioned that in order to proceed with the grant process, I had to send a payment of 30,000 Naira. My heart sank immediately. Up until then, I had genuinely believed this was a legitimate opportunity, but now?
I just hung up thinking about how many people these deceitful people were going to scsm with their well thought up tactics.
Just be careful out there all of you, and please like my story.
