The new hotel

The new hotel
There was a new hotel around the corner, and during this festive season, I had already concluded with some of my siblings that we were going to go there and spend our Christmas, enjoying the atmosphere and all the fun that comes with it. On Christmas Day, I had saved up a little money, and my siblings had saved up as well for our hotel outing.

When we arrived, we ordered a plate of chicken and some drinks. It wasn't as expensive as we had feared, but we were pleased that our savings had served their purpose.

We were seated and moved from one form of entertainment to another. There was also a hype man who made the whole atmosphere even more enticing and enjoyable. I enjoyed every single bit of the experience—the lively clubbing, the excellent hotel management, and everything else. The staff was surprisingly friendly, which added to the warm

Far Success

Far Success
I went to the market today with my friends to retrieve my phone. This phone was particularly important to me because I had saved up five crucial emails on it, which I submitted for an online work application. I even drafted an email to resume work before the phone began to malfunction unexpectedly, getting stuck on the Samsung Galaxy interface and not progressing past that point. No matter what I tried, it just wouldn’t boot up properly.

My friends were incredibly supportive during this ordeal. They encouraged me to keep seeking help, taking me to various experts in the market in hopes that we could find a solution to the problem. Despite their efforts, as the day went on, I began to feel more and more disheartened.

In the end, after numerous attempts and consultations, we came to the last resort: claiming the phone, but I felt very bad because I didn’t succeed in preserving my important emails. I had started the day in a cheerful mood, but by the end, I was left feeling defeated, knowing that I had lost something so significant.

Mystery of rods

Mystery of rods
It was a lazy evening, and I found myself scrolling through TikTok video clips until I came across a particularly educational video that I decided to share with you all. In the video, there was a man who had been caught with some iron rods. He had dug up these rods from graveyards, and then he went on to explain what these iron rods were used for. I must admit, I didn't fully understand the mystery behind it.

I personally have come across several hundreds of videos of people either complaining or lamenting about how, during the night while asleep, robbers invaded their homes and swiftly made off with their belongings and valuables. The mystery of how they managed to do this without ever being caught was one that needed to be solved—until I watched that particular video.

In it, a man made a startling confession. He disclosed that these robbers often used iron rods taken from graveyards. According to him, when they placed these rods in the compound of a target residence, the occupants would fall into a deep, unshakeable sleep. He described it as if they were under a spell, lying still and unaware, completely vulnerable to the intruders. While the homeowners remained oblivious, the robbers would carry out their evil plots, taking whatever they desired without the slightest disturbance.

The cold aspect of this revelation left me feeling uneasy. Not only was it disturbing to think about the use of such dark methods, but it also made me question the safety of the Lodge where I live.

Signout experience

Today was the final day for the Faculty of Business Administration here at my university. A friend of mine, actually two people from that faculty invited me, but I went mainly because of this particular close friend of mine who had personally invited me two weeks earlier.

Praise had invited me two weeks ago before the main date, so I had already added it to my plans. Today, I went for the sign-out, and he was so glad to see me that he came over and gave me a warm handshake, his face lighting up with smiles as he grinned from ear to ear. We walked out together and headed to a nearby restaurant, where we enjoyed some bites to eat. After that, we returned to the school, and that's when the real fun began with the whiteboard marker contest. We wrote all sorts of silly things on people's white shirts, and it was incredibly funny.

It was an incredibly fun day, and I even made some new friends from FABSA, exchanging contacts with them. Usually, I'm an introvert, but there are moments when I find the courage to socialize—maybe it’s triggered by an event or a particular situation. When that happens, I genuinely enjoy myself. I sometimes wish I were an extrovert so I could socialize even more freely.

As the day went on, I noticed one of the beautiful ladies who was signing out. Mustering up my courage, I approached her to say hi and congratulate her on her accomplishments. To my surprise, we ended up having a pleasant conversation, and without feeling pressured, she gave me her phone number and encouraged me to call her. It was such a comfortable interaction that I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as I walked away.

right in my face

right in my face
I ran into Cynthia today was an old friend and my former classmate from JSS3. She was my first crush, though I'm not willing to disclose any details about that.
Back then, I had drawn a very beautiful picture of a flower, and to make it special, I wrote Cynthia’s name on it. I brought it to classhappy to show my artwork.

I was quite skilled at drawing, and when I displayed it, my classmates marveled at my creation. However, everything changed when a good friend of mine, a guy in particular, approached the picture. Without asking for my permission, he grabbed it from my hands and rushed over to Cynthia. As he presented the artwork to her, he shouted that I was into her.

Kaii! That moment left me completely speechless. It felt like my heart had stopped for a second.

Cynthia appreciated the picture, but disappointedly, she gently declined to accept it. She claimed her parents would be against it. I didn’t understand her reasoning at the time. To me, it was just a thoughtful gift, a good gesture meant to show my appreciation for her beauty and nothing more. I hadn't pushed for anything romantic; I didn't even accompany the gift with a wish or a declaration of feelings. I was still young and inexperienced, simply wanting to express my admiration.

Reflecting on that moment now, I realize how much I've grown. When I ran into Cynthia recently, it opened my eyes to how naive I had been. Perhaps then, I was just a kid, caught up in the idea of beauty without grasping its complexities. Cynthia was a fair girl, definitely beautiful in her own right, but she was also quite short compared to my preferences these days.

rumpled steeze

rumpled steeze
I began my journey around 7 AM, with the intention of reaching Lagos before the next day. I packed my traveling box with plenty of clothes, excited to show off my style.

However, just as I was halfway to the park to board the bus, the handle of my large bag broke. It’s important to mention that there were no available means of transport; everyone there simply walked to their destinations.

So, I had no choice but to carry my big box despite all my fashion sense, my drip, i had to carry it on my head. It was a challenging situation, draining my baller steps, my composure, and all my pride. Despite the struggle, I managed to arrive safely in Lagos, and I was grateful for that.

On arriving, I got a relaxing welcome. A cold chivita to cool down my cooking blood and afterwards, I was blessed with a plate of well cooked Egusi soup. I forgot about the stressful journey immediately I was done with the food fight.

Always go with a list

Always go with a list
In the market today, I wanted to buy some very spicy stuff for my food. I was looking for good condiments that would make my meal taste better. Since I already had spaghetti at home, I aimed to spend just a little amount on maybe some meat, tomatoes, green beans, onions, pepper, and other spices.

After I was done shopping, I had to recalculate and recalculate again after checking my balance. I had already spent over 10,000 Naira, and I couldn't wrap my head on what I bought.
Let's break it down: I got meat for 2,500 Naira, and then there was a short sized bottle of groundnut oil for 4,000 Naira. I think that’s what took the money.

I couldn't believe that I had spent such an amount when I just wanted to cook a very small meal and enjoy myself for the day. That amount was supposed to last me for a week or two! laughs But it’s alright; let’s hope for another day and a better week ahead.
