Last week, I went to a small village to cover an event. I had learned about videography, which is how to use a camera to make videos. I knew how to get good shots to make a nice video, and this was my chance to practice.

A friend of my aunty asked me to help cover her event. She had promised to pay me some money before the event, but I decided to go without asking for the money first. I wanted to focus on the experience and have fun.
When I reached the village, everything was full of life. There were children playing, adults chatting, and the smell of tasty food in the air, the canopies were set and chairs being put in place. I felt ready to capture everything as I set my camera up.

As the event began, I moved around the crowd, capturing smiles, dancing, and the joyful moments happening all around but not shifting too much from the major scene and purpose of the gathering.It was like watching a movie behind my camera and asides filming the event, I felt happy to be part of it all.

At the end of the day, just when I finished filming, I checked my phone. I saw that my Aunty's friend had sent the money she promised. Everything was perfect beyond my plans.

Later, as I looked at the video clips I had taken and was cropping the clips together, I felt proud. Each shot reminded me of the fun and happiness that day brought. I realized that by taking just an opportunity whether prepared or not could be the best option one could take.

An old time friend visited me some days ago. It was a tiring walk going to bring her from the junction.
After we happily met, walked about 2 minutes before we got to my house.

We were tired because it was a very hot afternoon. I myself, who walked the short distance to bring her in, was so tired. Now you can imagine how tired she herself was.

Just as we entered the house and she had seated and made herself comfortable, I had given her a cup of water and then a can of malt to help cool her off when all of a sudden we spotted a scorpion entering through the door. It was just as if she had invited the scorpion with her.

As if in expectance, she stood immediately and killed it with a broom, uttering some words of prayer as she ebuked the harmful creature.

Almost throughout her stay, our conversation was centered at scorpions and other similar harmful organisms. It was fun to have her around.

I was in the market today, and I found myself watching this fascinating scene before me. Let me tell you guys about it. A guy was switching wallets, and it was captivating to see how he switched three wallets around, moving them into different positions. Then he will then ask us who had gathered to identify the one that had a red stripe on it.
I’d seen him do this countless times, about four times, to be specific, and each time I had guessed correctly when he opened the wallets to confirm my choice.

Feeling confident, I was about to step up to stake my 1,000 Naira and win the 3,000 Naira prize for any correct guess when suddenly, another man came up first and handed over his 1,000 Naira. I watched as he performed his usual wallet switch, and I made a pick like I had done the past times in mind, absolutely sure it was the right choice.

To my surprise, the man beside me chose the same wallet I did. We both stood there, waiting with confidence, but then When he revealed the wallets, it wasn’t the one we had both chosen that had the red stripe. We were dumbfounded, I looked at the man who made a stake as his eyes were changing to a cloudy red balls. It felt like a trick, and deep down I knew there was something off, but how sure can one be?

Today was one of the active days in our faculty week, it was a costume day.
We had been earlier encouraged to wear outfits that creates diversity and made us look apart and showcased our uniqueness. Some of us dressed as doctors, others as lawyers, while a few old school styles. The variety of costumes was too many to count, ranging from clowns to other ver y funny attire that transformed us into characters from different worlds.

I found myself taking up multiple roles, acting as a cameraman capturing the great moments and other events that l thought looked like creativity around me.
The sun was shining brightly overhead, but we didn't let the heat stop us. Everyone was laughing, posing for photos, and enjoying every bit of the event.

It was such an interesting day, filled with joy and lots of fun. I loved every moment of it, I can’t deny it. The energy and creativity everyone brought to the occasion made it truly unforgettable.

Today, I was in my room just relaxing when Suddenly, I heard a loud shout and then a door bang. I quickly put on my shirt and went outside to see what was happening.

I saw my neighbor standing at his door. He looked scared and was looking into his room. I walked over to him and asked him what happened that made him shout in such way.

He said that his wire caught fire.
I couldn’t help but smile because it sounded funny that someone's wire cat he's fire and then he abandone his house.

I went into his room to look. When I stepped inside, I saw that there were some wires on the floor, and they were puffing out smoke.

I turned off the wall switch so it would be safe. Then, I fixed the wires. I used some tape to make them tight and that was all the work needed.

I smiled back at my neighbour who was already beaming in joy. He kept saying thank you and how grateful he was until I was out of sight

I looked around my room, hoping something would just make me happy or less moody. But, nothing good to My sight . I just wanted to feel light but after staring, to see, nothing came out, plus I was tired of pressing my phone.I was definitely in a downcast mood, but I had to do something to change it after glancing at my bluetooth. And then it hit me, music would do it.

I rushed over to my speakers, I didn’t care about anything else at that moment. I just wanted some good tunes to play away the weight in my mind. And then I connected my phone, raised up the volume.

My room felt alive. I could feel the beats shaking the walls, vibrating into my soul. It felt like the music worked because for moment it started distracting me away from all those heavy thoughts.
I didn’t want to hear anyone’s opinions, and I didn’t care about the world outside. All I wanted was to let the sound fill my space, to drown out everything else, even if just for a little while. Neighbors always complain in meetings about loud music, but if only I was to disobey today, then no troubles.

Around 1 PM today, the almighty anticipated listing of the Hamster Kombat market was supposed to happen, and we were all eagerly waiting for it.

When it finally listed at just $0.001, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. I thought about all the coins and tokens that my people had been boasting about over the last week, them be no gree me hear word.

They told me they were going to get rich today, on listing day, and how they were planning to cash out before anyone else. Me too, i jejely, accepted and we were waiting for the millions to hit their accounts.

But seeing the reality was like a gunshot. After the listing, it became painfully clear to them that they would be making nothing more than a minimal amount of dollars.

It was hard to contain my laughter as I watched them lament all through the day 😃😃 their time investment in something that turned out to be a little reward.
I knew the amount of time these guys invested into tapping.
