Testing my Patience

Testing my Patience
I stumbled upon a disturbing video on my reels today that honestly upset me. It was hard to watch a little kid wreaking havoc in a house while the adults around him tried to pacify him instead of addressing the chaos he was causing. They coddled him, even when they saw the destruction unfolding right under their noses.

I watched in dismay, battling with a mix of emotions. It was frustrating to see such a lack of discipline; the child was smashing things, tossing toys, and struggling to break am installed camera all was in total mess while his parents and guardians scrambled to soothe him as if it were all just a game. I couldn't comprehend why the foreigners are that way?

My patience wore thin, and I felt a surge of anger cooking within me. I couldn't help but wish I was there in that moment, so that I can show the little boy how it is been done in Nigeria, discipline often means more than just gentle words; it's about setting firm boundaries and teaching respect for both people and property.
I could have spared some rod on his body.

Testing the femaleā€²s Might

Testing the femaleā€²s Might
As I sat down to play chess, I was lostā€”only familiar with Draft back home. The designs of the pieces confused me, and I lost countless times despite my opponent's attempts to teach me. But I didnā€™t give up! I downloaded tutorial apps, practiced with computer opponents, and after two weeks of dedication, I gained skills. In our next match, I displayed my new abilities, and my competitor was thrilled he couldnā€™t believe the transformation.

People around haild me and stated that they hardly come across a girl who was good in chess. That boosted my confidence.

I refused to give up after that first matchā€”I saw the shock in his eyes when I won, and I was determined to wow him next time.

I dove deeper into chess, realizing it wasnā€™t just a game but a tool for technical thinking and self-development.

During our next competition, he was laughing, claiming he'd been training too, but I wasnā€™t worried.

We began, and I won 2-0, then 4-0, and ultimately crushed him with a stunning 7-0 victory.
No dey underestimate girls o.

The Real Gossip

The Real Gossip
I found myself completely engrossed in house chores and didnā€™t even have a moment to grab my phone or check it until around 1 p.m. Finally, when I picked it up, I was eager to catch up on recent messages from classmates, friends, or family. To my surprise, I saw a long text from someone I thought was my friend.

I opened it, only to find her expressing disappointment and accusing me of gossiping about her. I was taken aback because I hadnā€™t said anything about her. She had jumped to conclusions without talking to me first. I wanted to explain myself, but something held me back. Why should I be the one to explain when she didnā€™t give me a chance to clarify? In her frustration, she blocked me on WhatsApp, leaving me feeling helpless and wanting to call her right away.

After giving it some thought, I decided not to call her or disturb her about what happened. Interestingly, we ended up crossing paths today. We both acted like strangers, which seemed to be what she wanted. She looked cute and almost as if she expected me to say something first, but I held back.

I couldnā€™t shake the feeling of disappointment, not just for her actions but for how she chose to believe gossip instead of coming to me for clarification. Itā€™s frustrating how sometimes friendships can become complicated by misunderstandings and third-party opinions. Despite all the ups and downs, we continuously push through and make new friends along the way.

Maybe, if she can come back, apologize, and really listen to my side of the story, we might find a way to mend things and become friends again. For now, though, it feels better to keep things as they are and give it some time.

Likeness

Likeness
Was scrolling through TikTok when I came across a video about a woman with autism. Usually, I prefer videos that help me relax instead of educational ones, so I almost skipped it. However, this video caught my attention.

To my surprise, it was longā€”about 9 to 10 minutesā€”much longer than most TikTok videos. As I watched, I realized it was a documentary about the woman's life, showing her experiences and daily challenges. The scenes were well put together, and the woman's personality shone through. I was really impressed by how they captured her journey.

What captivated me most were the women's struggles with her autism, including her unusual hand gestures and speech patterns. Over time, she became more fluent and even pursued critical thinking in engineering. She explained concepts, which I found challenging to understand, but I could tell that she was passionate about it.

She studied at a university and graduated with flying colors. Many people in the video expressed pride in her accomplishments, and Iā€™m sure they feel the same way in real life. Additionally, she focused on how to prevent inhumane treatment of wild animals and livestock. All of this was so inspiring and truly brightened my day.

After watching, I tried to search for the documentary but couldnā€™t find its title. However, I plan to keep looking for it. Who knows? Maybe Iā€™ll find the name and download it to my device.

Change in Plans

Change in Plans
After trying and failing with airdrops too many times, I decided to give up on that whole thing. I wanted to find a better way to make steady money, something more reliable that didnā€™t feel so hard to get.

Then, I thought about testnets. It kept coming to my mind, so I decided to give it a try. I called a friend who was into it and learned that he was making a little moneyā€”about $5 to $10 here and there. While that didnā€™t seem like a lot, it was better than what I had been doing.

I asked him to send me the links to the latest testnet projects on his phone, and he agreed. I felt excited and more confident knowing I was taking action.

I jumped right in and clicked on all the links he sent me. Some needed me to set up wallets, while others had simple tasks, like sending a small amount of crypto or using certain apps. I carefully followed each step, making sure I didnā€™t miss anything. Each task I completed felt like I was getting closer to making some real money.

Differences

Differences
We all came out to do the Saturday cleaning, but this particular guy that moved into the compound was stubborn. He didn't know how things were done in this new residence, and he had just popped in a week ago, claiming he was a big boy and muscular, but we wouldn't give him a chance.

Immediately our lodge president identified that he was proving stubborn and not ready to join us for the Saturday cleanup activities. We all rushed out to meet him as we knocked. He was just bewildered. He couldn't talk again. As we dragged him to the spot for the cleanup, it looked like it was a movie because he was far outnumbered. People had clustered around him, and if he had made any wrong move, he could have been taught a very severe lesson.

If he had come from a lodge where they don't do cleanup or they don't respect anybody, this particular lodge and residence is quite different.

He thought that with his big head and wooden shoulders, that he could come here and claim superiority. He's lucky he didnt chop sand.

Just the movies, donā€²t want it real

Just the movies, donā€²t want it real
I just finished watching a horror movie, and I really enjoyed it. It was incredibly scary and fun. I usually prefer these kinds of movies over others because they keep me on my toes. I love experiencing the thrill, the waves of jitters, and all the shocking moments. The suspense in horror films is often out of this world, and thatā€™s what I enjoy the most.

During the day, I watched the movie until the evening, and then it was time for my bath. I typically take a bath twice a day: one in the afternoon and again in the evening. To be more precise, I prefer bathing close to 10 PM to 11 PM at night. It really helps me sleep better.

So, there I was, just about to take my bath, with scenes from the movie replaying in my head.

Suddenly, a wave of wind blew through the windows, chilling my body, and thatā€™s when the fear really set in. I felt the tension I had been experiencing while watching the movie increase, combined with the cold of the night. Just then, a spider landed on my back, causing me to jump up from my squatting position in fright.

In a panic, I rushed out of the bedroom and decided that I wouldn't let myself be won by mental stress this time. Although I realized just a minute later that it was only a spider that had scared me like that, I was already in a towel drying myself up.

I think Iā€™ll skip the bath for tonight. Itā€™s time for some rest. Iā€™ll see you all later. Goodnight!

Wonders in concoction

Wonders in concoction
I was never a fan of herbal remedies, but after I tried synthetic drugs for some time, I resorted to my grandmother's concoction. She had just started preparing it and told me that it would help reduce my stomach ache, which was caused by an ulcer. I doubted her. I doubted the herbal remedies, and I doubted everythingā€”in fact, I even doubted if the ulcer would really go away. I didnā€™t actually know the composition of her concoction. This is what school had taught us: not to believe in anything without facts to back it up.

However, after experiencing so much pain, I decided to give the herbal remedy a try. I tried it for the first time on that day, and to my surprise, the pain subsided a little bit. I didnā€™t immediately give credit to my grandmotherā€™s herbal concoction, though. It wasnā€™t until the next day when the pain began to decrease significantly that I was truly amazed. This change caught my attention, and I asked my grandmother about the composition of her herbal concoction.

She gave me the names of a few trees that I recognized, along with some wild plants that I didnā€™t know about. My grandmother described them to me, helping me identify about two from the long list she provided. It was quite fascinating to realize that we have so many natural resources around us, yet we often wait for synthetic drugs to solve our problems.

Even after my experience, I still wasnā€™t completely comfortable taking herbal mixtures. If it hadnā€™t been for my grandmother and my own frustrations with synthetic medications that didnā€™t work, I wouldnā€™t have turned to herbal concoctions at all. Uhmm, we all know that many of our natural plants contain vital compounds and nutrients.
