Arguing in Ignorance

Arguing in Ignorance
How can someone who is clueless about a thing continue to argue like he knows anything about it? This guy was actually very clueless about the point I was making, yet he continued to rival my points and facts with his ignorance. I wanted to give him some advice about building an online community, but he was trying to make a point where there isnt.

I'm already running my community, and it's going quite well, I can say. In the heat of the conversation, I wanted to offer him tips on how to build his own community for free, but he wouldn't let me. His mouth was rattling like a snake, and he talked too much for a man. He was countering my facts with invalid points and absurdities, which got me pissed, and I thought to myself, isn't it better to keep to myself?

Then, as I reflected on the situation, I realized that I was at fault and that I shouldn't even be talking publicly about these points—usually very valid points and credible information that are hidden and not just supplied easily to the mass. This guy was a stranger to me; we just lived in the same compound. I had come out to take some fresh air, and then he also came around, leading to our conversation. As he wouldn't agree with my points, I decided to keep quiet and admit that I was wrong.

Tonight′s Blessings

Tonight′s Blessings
I will not lie; I did not attend the crossover night during Christmas, but this New Year, I made sure to be there. I prepared early—ate all my meals in advance—and was ready for the special night. Right now, I'm in church, and I had typed this story, knowing how the outcome of the event would unfold, and it's already going as planned.

We've already kicked things off with good music, the kind that makes you want to jump and shake the whole building. It's crossover night, and everyone is in high spirits, filled with vigor and energy. We are ready to celebrate and thank the Lord for helping us enter the new year of 2025 in good health.

At this moment, I've supported about five of my friends, and we've also gathered some vanguards, knockouts, and rockets for the prime time to reach. The fireworks are already set up, waiting for the clock to strike 12 AM. Once the church minister announces the crossover into a Happy New Year, we will make the fireworks look like pure magic. I can't wait for that moment.

Happy New Year, friends! 🎉

God Sustains

God Sustains
We were on a bus heading to Asata, when suddenly we noticed the vehicle ahead of us start to malfunction. We could see the driver struggling to control the car, but he couldn’t manage it. Upon closer inspection, I realized that one of the car's tires had already sprung out from its socket and was rolling down the road.

The driver couldn’t see the tire loss; he was still trying to balance the vehicle. Miraculously, the car didn’t flop or sag at the point where the tire was lost. It instead bounced up and down and moved uncontrollably, but somehow, it never fell over.

I prayed silently, not only for the lives in that vehicle but also for God not to let me witness a tragic event during this period.
I thought about the occupants family mbers and what they had as plans, and this made me plead more to God not to permit the plans of the enemies to prevail.

We thanked God for this tiny miracle, and our driver decided to overtake the malfunctioning vehicle. We had to inform him about the situation. He quickly stopped, and together, we expressed our gratitude, thanking God for our safety and for everything we still have.

Thought we shared a lot

Thought we shared a lot
When people usually spoke of roommate issues and similar topics, I would often exclude myself from the conversation. However, I must say that I now have personal experience with these roommate challenges. I once had a roommate with whom I shared a lot. I literally took care of him by providing most of the food. Every meal I cooked or bought, we would typically eat together.

He was usually very conservative with his own food, but I wasn't like that. I lived a very simple and transparent life. Eventually, it reached a point when my food supplies ran low, and I needed to rely on what little we had left until I could get more groceries from my parents. However, he reacted strangely; he seemed upset and even angry about the situation.

headed home, hoping to replenish my supplies. When I returned, I discovered he’d already eaten most of his own food, leaving only a few raw items behind. This time, I wasn’t as willing to share my food like I used to; I needed to look out for myself too. My change in attitude seemed to drive him even more over the edge.

He accused me of being a bad person, and shortly after, he decided to move out. I was conflicted. While part of me felt relieved, another part of me felt uneasy about how things had escalated. As the weeks passed, I noticed changes in him at school. He looked very stressed and was slimming down each day; the weight loss was evident, and he appeared pitiful to the eyes.

As weeks passed, he tried to rekindle our friendship. Yesterday, he even texted me, pleading to come back to our previous arrangemen, but I just couldn't overlook the betrayal. Trust, once broken, is hard to mend.

What a day!

What a day!
It was supposed to be a smooth day after preparing for a particular exam. I had dedicated about two weeks to studying for this exam. However, leading up to it, we faced some ups and downs, including a supervisor who hadn't properly arranged the exam settings.

Finally, we entered the exam hall, hoping that the delays were the worst part of the experience. But then we faced the reality of the questions. We were terrified, staring at questions that seemed completely unrelated to what we had diligently prepared for.

As we exited the classroom, the atmosphere was heavy with disappointment. Everyone wore either a sad expression or had tears in their eyes. Despite it all, I tried to remain optimistic. When I got home, I took a good dose of sleep, hoping to recharge when I woke and I did.

After my needed sleep, I woke up feeling a little more refreshed, but the weight of the exam lingered in my mind. I decided to call my friend Angie, who had been preparing for the exam alongside me. I needed to hear how she had fared.

When he answered, I could hear the frustration in his voice. "I don't think I've ever felt so unprepared in my life! Those questions were completely off all we read bro", he said.

Disarming Kick

Disarming Kick
While taking a bath this evening, a memory from my childhood popped into my mind, making me chuckle while I was in the bathroom. I fondly recall the years between 6 and 13 when I felt a sense of strength that set me apart. I wasn’t muscular in the average sense because I was still a kid after all, but I had a physique that was more developed than most of my peers.

My brother often used me to intimidate his friends, as I was his “older brother” in a way. There was one particular incident that stands out. He challenged me to a fight against one of his friends, who was older than both of us. I had all the confidence in the world, thinking I would easily win. But then the unexpected happened: I got the first kick right in my stomach.

That moment was a turning point for me. I remember standing there, holding my stomach and feeling a mix of embarrassment and pain. That first blow was disarming, i lost all my strength.

After that fight, I adopted a new mindset. Instead of trying to portray strength, I focused on being smart and clever, by only intimidating with my physique but never initiating a battle.

A Little Twist

A Little Twist
It's been a few months now, and I've been running around with my course supervisor, trying to find the best topic to present for my project defense. At first, it felt a bit hopeless. Most days, I left our meetings feeling like we hadn’t made any progress at all. I thought today would be just like the other regular day where we wouldn’t come up with anything good.

But then, something amazing happened...
.. My supervisor gave me the chance to pick a topic that I really liked, one that I thought would be fun to work on. I explained how perfect it would be for me. But at first, he didn’t agree. He said it seemed too easy and that I might need something more challenging.

Today, though, I decided to think about it differently. I added some more details to make the topic look more complex and interesting, just some twists here and there. When I presented my ideas to him again, he finally chose my topic.
I couldn't believe it, it came as a shock. Immediately I started telling some of my friends about it and how they could help me with research and ideas.
It's going to be a busy week.

Next Day

Next Day
decided to get a mackintosh for my bed. I didn't have any particular problem, but sometimes when I removed my bed sheet to wash it, I would accidentally stain the bed itself. This really irritated me because I didn’t know how to wash the original fabric used to make the bed.

So, I thought that making a mackintosh would be a good solution. I measured the sizes I needed and took it to a tailor last week to start the work.

After I retrieved the finished work yestraday, I tried to insert my bed into the mackintosh, but it wouldn’t fit. I had took the proper measurements, but clearly, I must have made a mistake somewhere or the tailor was trying to conserve the material.
On top of that, I was frustrated about the price I had to pay for this. The tailor had raised the prices of everything, blaming it on the economy. I ended up paying about 12,000 Naira for the material, while usually, it wouldn’t cost more than 8,000 Naira no matter how big the bed is. And my bed wasn’t even that big, just a standard 6 x 5 size.

But it's okay. I’ve already contacted the tailor, and I’ll be taking it back tomorrow to get it fixed. Hopefully, it will work out as I planned.

Wow that's a good development. This terrorist group shouldn't be a lot of task for the government if the military is up to take them out.
