Latest Hair Advisor

Latest Hair Advisor
I noticed that my auntie was having chronic hair loss. The hair that framed her face was almost gone, and she was starting to go bald. For a lady to be growing bald was so awkward, so I decided immediately that I should help her. After I touched her head and hinted at my concern, she asked me, as a science student, if I knew something that could help her regrow her hair. I told her yes with all the confidence I could muster, but deep down, I didn’t really know. That was the spoiler.

Instead of allowing her to think I was dumb or not well educated, I decided to Google it. After all, what do we have the internet and AI tools for? I quickly searched for natural remedies for hair regrowth. When I was done, I came up with several options, and she decided to try them for about a week. To our surprise, her hair began to grow back! It was wonderful to see her confidence returning along with her hair.

She called me on the phone that she was noticing traces of hair, but she wasn't sure because it had taken some days to grow. It didn't seem like she was almost clearly bald in those areas on her head, but she was noticing some growth, and she was telling me that my remedy prescription was effective. Although I couldn't help but just smile at myself, I had now invented what I didn't. Now I've gotten some sort of respect from her, and she called me almost every two days to ask about my welfare. She had even sent me about #10,000 for my school support, which she had never done, and I appreciate it. This was simply done, and this favor was simply gained just because I looked up some things that are on Google and on AI, thanks to Google.

Gossiping Man

I was really tired of listening to my friend gossip about his roommate. It bothered me, not only because I didn’t like the way he talked about this guy, but also because gossip just felt so petty. Typically, I’m more of a listener than a talker, and I found myself stuck in this conversation while he rambled on, believing I was enjoying it. I gave him what he thought was my full attention, but inside, I was struggling.

It was hard for me to speak up. I wanted to tell him to stop gossiping and also to remind him that he was a man and should rise above this. I wanted to say that we all make mistakes, and his roommate wasn’t worth all this negativity. Yet, I couldn't find the words to confront him. He was so cheerful, laughing loudly and turning every little evdnt that he narrated into something funny. But I couldn’t join in on the laughter.

So there I was in silence, listening as he continued to share his ridiculous stories. It felt like no matter how much I didn’t want to hear it, the conversation kept going on. And when it finally came time for him to leave, I just sat there, still thinking about how a full grown man visited me just to gossip and talk about his fellow man.

Regaining my trust

Regaining my trust
I had gone back to the tailor who sewed one of the most disappointing clothes I had ever seen in my life. I returned to her shop about two days ago, and you wouldn't believe what I saw there. I noticed what I call top notch fashion dress. It was so goodlooking, and beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off it. At first, I didn't even realize it was mine, but I recognized the material immediately.

Many thoughts were running through my mind, and I wondered whether it was still the same tailor who had sewn something so rubbish the last time I visited now creating something so beautiful. I decided to first meet the tailor and ask her about it.

When I finally confirmed that it was my clothing, I was filled with joy. I didn’t even know how to express myself, especially since the last time I had come, I vented my anger and showed her how disappointed I was. But this time, I didn't know how to react. I felt disappointment from the past and happiness from what I was seeing hanging before me.

She understood immediately that she had done a nice job, so she smiled and told me to try the cloth on. I put on the cloth, and it was a perfect fit. Not only was it a perfect fit, my waistline showed, and I admired myself in the mirror for several minutes until she was begging me to take it off so she could iron it before I took it. Well, I took it off, and then she ironed it. I paid her a tip, you know, an extra tip for the work, and everyone was happy. This is what I expected, not the other garbage.

When My Man Meets My Woman

When My Man Meets My Woman
You know that feeling in your stomach when you run into someone you didn't expect to see again. Well, that was me today, and that feeling held me in a tight embrace. I was coming back from the seminar this afternoon when I walked past this lady on nose mask and brown tinted sun shades.

“Excuse me”, she said. “You are Desmond right?”
“And who are you?”

“Oh I am Chinwe, Chinwe Nwachukwu”, she said as she removed her glasses and nose mask.
“Oh, I see, holla”

And that was how I found myself in a restaurant with her where we had some rice and chicken. We talked about things one would normally talk about when you meet someone after a long time.

We used to be friends in school back then. With time, we stopped talking. I didn’t know why, but I think it had something to do with one guy she met back then. Good for her. But I was hurt when she excluded me from things we normally did together and went incommunicado. It was exhausting but I walked anyways and here she was, sitting opposite me.

She is popular on YouTube these days. I had seen her in some movies. She was good alright. Her flair and talent was kool.

Her phone rang a couple of times and in the presiding discussions that followed, it was all about her man. You try talking with her about work, politics, the economy or life in general and she would go like, “Her Man thinks, Her Man says, Her Man this, Her Man that…” I tire oh. Nah so the food wey I chop come vanish for my body like this. I had to excuse myself to use the men’s room.

While in there, I called Trisha (that my coursemate from Lagbaja) and told her it was a code 9 emergency. Girl, you gotta get me outta here.

In the next few minutes after using the restroom, she called me and I was like, “That’s My Woman, I got to get this”, I made sure the call sound was a little more audible so Chinwe could hear.

“Boo, where are you?, I have missed you…”
“Awwwwwwwwwwwwn, I miss you too, I am having lunch with an acquaintance”,
“But Babes, I was gonna take you out like I said nowu😢🥺”
“My world, I am sorry, I will be there soon. My Lady, My Angel, don’t be mad, I am coming”

Me to Chinwe: Did I take long? My bad.
Chinwe: I heard it all, you guys were cute on phone.

Me (Pretending I didn’t know what I did but smiling inwardly in Ekwensu Red Expression): You don’t mean it. Was it on speaker, oh nooooo (Acts shy). Sorry about that.

And that was how I wrapped up things with Chinwe. We split the bills and I walked home. Thanks to Trisha for the acting. We should star in a movie sometime. No be me Chinwe go frustrate. Inukwanu m nonsense in condensed form.
