The Season is Upon us

I woke up to the wind rustling, lips dry with that feeling of arid air, I could feel my skin thicken in defense to the atmosphere. 'I know this slightly irritating feeling, it can only be Harmattan' I soliloquized, clearing my eyes of the dirt that had piled up in my sleep.

Mustering every energy left, I sprung to my feet, my disgruntled stomach was not having any fun as it sent out rumblings that were translated to 'man, don't let us die from hunger.' Didn't toss anything to the tummy before leaving for church at dawn, the low tone chitchat downstairs between neighbors interrupted my tete-a-tete for a while, "Tummy will have to wait," I mumbled moving out to eavesdrop on the chitchat.

It was a lady, and a guy who had just returned from the Cathedral, he expressed dissatisfaction with the incoming Harmattan while the lady who looked prepared to go out praised God for such a wondrous atmosphere stating that her clothes will dry faster now and sleeping time much more comfortable. I inhaled the dry air, I'm not so comfortable or displeased, I will just have to adjust and survive.

Taking my dried clothes off the rope, I smiled in satisfaction, harmattan reminds me of one thing; the season of good tidings, it's been a long year, alas! there will be time to sit back with loved ones and celebrate under the sound of jingle bells ⛄
There's nothing to worry about, the atmosphere is perfectly setting the floor for CHRISTMAS

Mistaken Identity

Mistaken Identity
Once there were twins, Mark and Michael, Mark was the owner of an old boat. It so happened that Michael's wife died the same day that Mark's boat sank.
A few days later, a kindly old woman saw Mark and mistook him for Michael. She said, "I'm sorry to hear about your loss. You must just feel terrible."
Mark, thinking that she was talking about his boat, said, "Heck no. In fact, I'm sort of glad to be rid of her. She was a rotten old thing right from the beginning. Her bottom was all shrivelled up and she smelled like old dead fish. She was always losing her water; she had a bad crack in the back and a pretty big hole in the front too. Every time I used her, her hole got bigger and she leaked like crazy. I guess what finally finished her off was when I rented her to these four guys looking for a good time. I warned them that she wasn't very good, but they wanted to use her anyhow. The fools tried to get in her all at once and she split right up the middle!"
The old lady fainted.
🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
Have a nice Friday!

WHAT DID THIS GOVERNMENT PROMISE US

Sulaimon Olamide works with LAWMA. He was one of those that championed “Yoruba Ronu & Iya Chukwudi.” He was part of those that unleashed violence against an ethnic group in Lagos. He has become a chronic beggar on Instagram, & he is asthmatic.

How did we end up like this, how?

Peter Obi has been vindicated.

It took less than 6 months for them to start wailing. While the Obidents are having fun, the Children of the Corn are protesting.

They are angry because fish & food prices have gone up in the market. Now they claim that Obi would been as bad as Asiwaju. Medicine after death, they should cry more!!

Peter Obi's promises to Nigerians:

1. Hourly wage.
2. The Rule of Law.
3. Quality education.
4. Quality healthcare.
5. Constant electricity.
6. I & Datti will secure Nigeria.
7. From Consumption to Production.
8. If I & Datti are not corrupt, we would have reduced corruption by 50%, etc.

WHAT DID BAT PROMISE YOU?

"Farmers will make money. Recruit, fifty million youths!! What they will eat? Cassava, Garri, Ewa. Widen the tax net, reduce their purchasing power, & further slow down the economy. Na statistics we go chop?”

He said “Renewed Hope” & you thought your name was being mentioned? FOOL!! Renewed Hope was for his fellow political elites. Renewed Shege, that's yours!!

Mama Pablo, give them two shots of hot Kai-kai, add sachet Squadron on top.

Are we will still standing as a nation

1 Tom Tom for 20 naira

1 Tom Tom for 20 naira
In this country, I have witnessed so many things that disgust me. It's always just 'click ignore' for me. I can't ignore this, though. I just made a purchase of N4,980 at a corner store, and my change was N20. The woman inquired if I could buy anything for N20 and stated she didn't have any N20 to give me. "Give me, sweetie," I say. She also handed me one Tom Tom. She stated that the 1 Tom Tom was N20 when I enquired. I thought, What? Tom Tom, that's three for N10. What year is it, she asks? Please let me know how much one Tom Tom costs, my people.

A Piece of Nature

A Piece of Nature
As the raindrops tapped gently against my window, I found solace in the rhythmic harmony of my Chinese tranquil music. The melodic tunes wrapped around me like a comforting embrace, creating a serene atmosphere within the confines of my room.

The absence of electricity enhanced the tranquility and fully complemented the soothing music. Each note seemed to synchronize with the rain's gentle drops, I could only get more engrossed with such a masterpiece.

Closing my eyes, the sound of raindrops became a backdrop to my thoughts, allowing my mind to wander through the world painted by the music. The music transported me to a realm where time seemed to slow down, and the worries of a long Sunday melted away.

The music became a companion, guiding me through a dreamlike journey. Hours slipped by unnoticed, and when I finally opened my eyes this morning, the rain had stopped but the music lingered in the air, reminding me of the tranquil atmosphere that enhanced my night. It was a night where nature met with artistry, leaving a memory that would stay alive in the melody of my thoughts for nights to come.

Dogs Kingdom democracy better than Nigerian politics

Once upon a time, in the enchanting Dogs Kingdom, a democracy flourished that put Nigerian politics to shame. In this whimsical land, dogs of all shapes and sizes gathered to elect their leaders with a level of integrity and fairness that seemed unimaginable elsewhere. The canine citizens were astute and discerning, sniffing out the true intentions of their candidates with remarkable accuracy.

In this remarkable democracy, campaigns were conducted with wagging tails and playful barks instead of deceitful speeches and empty promises. The candidates, adorned with colorful bandanas and shiny collars, showcased their skills and abilities through friendly competitions and acts of kindness towards their fellow dogs. The citizens, ever vigilant, evaluated each candidate's loyalty, compassion, and ability to fetch a stick with grace and precision.

The Dogs Kingdom democracy was a beacon of hope, where leaders were chosen based on merit rather than personal gain. The elected officials, known as the "Paw-liticians," worked tirelessly to improve the lives of their fellow canines. They implemented policies that ensured equal access to treats, established dog parks in every neighborhood, and even organized a national holiday dedicated to belly rubs. The Dogs Kingdom had truly achieved a level of governance that left Nigerian politics in the dust, proving that sometimes, the most unlikely places can teach us the greatest lessons in democracy.

The World from Heights

Just another Monday to get productive, there were no scheduled classes but I'd be unfruitful if I spent the day wallowing at home and so, I proposed to my friend to take a walk into campus and flip through some pages.
He usually goes to a different location called The Tower while I visit a lab which had become very disturbing lately as more and more noisy students troop in during the day to read, the shuffling, the gossips, I could barely focus. Instead of battling to read, I decided to visit the Tower for the first time.

"Man, living in the second floor can take a lot of things off your mind" I murmured to Chris as we stepped into the scorching sun, "So it seems" he responded indifferently. The first half of our journey was silent and full of sighs of fatigue, we reached a kiosk and grabbed soft drinks before continuing, chattering about school affairs and the fast approaching Christmas. Chris talked about how lovely it is to be home, I can agree with him, the feeling is such a tranquil one after a long back-breaking semester.

"Here we are!" Chris exclaimed, right before us was an uncompleted mighty building, about six storeys, "It's dusty here" I remarked, "But let's see what it looks like." We reached the fifth floor and found a place to sit. Such a picturesque view I had from there, I've never seen the campus from a perspective as this and even beyond it, seemingly tiny people down there, the arrangement of houses, the relaxing breeze that constantly blew.

Unarguably, it is so beautiful to see the world from this height, it's not lonely at the top after all, and as I sit here to write this, I can end with it with: There are aspects that must be viewed from an unusual perspective to get the best outta it

Alvira the ghost

NEW STORY ALERT! ELVIRA

CHAPTER 1

It had been a long day for me. Firstly, I closed late from work, and then, I went out to hang out with some friends. I got back home around 9:30 PM and was too tired to even go to my bedroom to change my clothes. Instead, I slumped on my favourite sofa and before I knew it, I had passed out.

My usual tradition when I was tired and wanted to have a good rest was to put my phone either on silent or vibration, so that if a call or a text came in, I would not even hear it. In the past, I used to switch it off completely or simply put in on flight mode. However, I had to desist from doing that after I ran into trouble with my boss. There was a day he tried to reach me after work because something urgent had come up, but he couldn’t get me because my phone had been turned off. I was severely reprimanded for that.

Today, however, I left my phone on loud ring because in spite of the fact that I was dead tired, I was expecting someone. I couldn’t stay awake while waiting because I was not just tired, I was absolutely exhausted. So, I had to make sure my ring setting was on loud, so that if she came and my doorbell didn’t wake me up, she would call my phone and that would of course, wake me up. You know Techno Phones and their loud ringtones.

It started raining as soon as I shut my eyes, and you know what rain does to sleep. I adjusted myself comfortably on my favourite sofa, with my clothes and shoes still on and slept off. I don’t know for how long I slept but I was suddenly woken up by my phone ringing. I checked and it was Elvira. Oh my gosh! I thought to myself. I hoped she had not been standing at the door for too long. I woke up from the chair and hurried to the door, almost knocking my table lamp as I did so. I got to the door and opened it.

Elvira stepped into the house. She looked strange and wild. It was still raining outside but I noticed that she didn’t seem to be wet. There was also a wild wind blowing outside, but I noticed that it didn’t ruffle her long black hair, since the door was still open. She looked at me sadly with her wild eyes, brushed past me and went straight to the bedroom. I quickly locked the door and looked at the large wall clock. It was exactly midnight.

For a while, I stood beside the door and thought to myself. Why was she behaving so strangely? It was raining outside but she was dry. She didn’t seem to look like someone who had been in the rain. Or could it be that she had been brought by a bike that had an umbrella? That was possible. But she looked strange. What was wrong with her. She didn’t even greet me or talked to me. Instead, she walked past me without a word.

Could it be that she was angry with me? But how could that be possible? This was the first time we were meeting in person. She was only able to accurately locate my compound because I had given her a vivid description, and also because she claimed to have once lived in that neighbourhood several years ago when she lived in this town. She was also able to locate my apartment because all the apartments in that compound were numbered. So, why would she be angry with me?

I had sent her the money she requested for her transportation and had been chatting with her as she travelled to see me. She had been given me constant updates about the progress of her journey until about two hours before I got home. I noticed that she had stopped replying to my texts, but I associated that to the spotted and irregular network coverage along that area.

Could it be that the okada man who brought her had annoyed her? Some of these okada men were riff-raffs. I hoped he had not tried to hurt her since the hour was so late. But if that was the case, why would she not to tell me, why would she instead transfer her aggression to me? Unable to answer all these questions, I went into the bedroom to look for her, and talk to her but I didn’t find her. Where could she have gone to? Confused, I went to the guest room and still didn’t find her. Then, I went to the bathroom and found her there. She was stark naked.

The sight of her shapely body without clothes gave me a woody. I quickly removed my clothes and shoes, leaving just my boxers. I walked up to her. Since I was wearing just a mini boxer, my LGA, which had now pushed up against the boxer was able to rub on her behind. She turned around, looked at me and smiled.

“What do you want?” She spoke for the first time.

“A little bit of nighttime fun.” I replied.

“But I have only just arrived.”

“So?”

“So, I need to bathe and freshen up.”

“Why?”

“Because I feel quite nasty now.”

“Have I complained?”

“No, but for the sake of cleanliness and decency. Please, let me bathe first. Just go to the bedroom and wait for me. I will be with you soon.”

“Ahh!! You are killing my mood. This thing is good to be served when it is hot. Give a man food when he is hungry, and not when you feel like it.” I complained.

“I have heard you, Sah. I will be done soon, and I will give you.”

“Alright, but don’t give me that talk about finishing soon. Women never finish soon when they are bathing. Take your time, Elvira. I will be in the living room. Let me know when you are done.” I said, walking away. My LGA was beginning to calm down.

“What are you going to do in the living room again? Is it not late already? You have to go to work tomorrow, and that means you need to sleep early.”

“Yes, I know but I just remembered that I promised my fans that I will be posting the next chapter of my story, A COSTLY MISTAKE, this night. I don’t want to disappoint me. I have very aggressive readers. If I don’t post this night, they will crucify me, quite literally.” I explained to her.

“You are a blogger?”

“Nope.”

“An influencer?”

“I don’t consider myself one.”

“So, why do you talk of fans?”

“Let me just say I have a page where I write stories. I am a writer.”

“You look like one.” She smiled.

“What do you mean by that? How do writers look like?” I was amused.

“That overgrown beard that you keep makes you look like one.” She laughed for the first time. However, in spite of the laughter, I was still able to discern that her eyes were sad and strange.

“I don’t blame you.” I said, walking away. “Let me know when you are done.”

I went back to the living room and turned on my laptop. I was about to start typing when I decided to check my page first to see if there were any notifications. There were many but I didn’t open any of them. I was always afraid to open my notifications when I had delayed to post the chapter of a story I was writing. I always felt bad seeing my fans and readers complaining that I had taken too long to post. If only they knew how tight my schedule was.

I put the phone on the table and resumed typing. About thirty minutes later, she came to the living room wearing nothing but a white towel. You know how a white towel makes a lady look. She came beside me and read a few lines of what I was typing on my laptop. She was really impressed by it.

“You write so good. I never knew you were a writer.” She commented.

“Thank you, Elvira. That is one of the many gifts God blessed me with.” I replied.

“Hmm!! Many gifts, you say? Which other gift do you have?”

“Bedmatics?”

“What? Never heard of that kind of a gift. What does it mean, and how does it work?”

“Wait for me at the bedroom. This particular gift cannot be explained by word of mouth, it can only be shown. It is an action gift.” I laughed.

“You are crazy, do you know that? Like for real, you are mad.” She laughed too.

“Go to the bedroom and wait for me. Once I have finished writing this chapter and I have posted, I will come and show you how mad I can be.” I laughed.

“Indeed, by the way, why don’t you post in the morning? Most of your readers will be asleep by now.”

“That is what you think. I have a group of them that are always up. I wonder if they ever have time to sleep. I have nicknamed them ‘The late-night crew’. Once I post, you will see them surfacing.” I told her.

“Wow!! Are you sure you are not being followed by vampires?” She laughed.

“Not really. It is possible that the differences in time zones could be the cause. Now go to the bedroom. You are distracting me.”

“I am not going anywhere. I will stay here and wait for you until you are done.” She announced.

She reclined on another sofa and watched me as I type. By the corner of my eyes, I looked at her every now and then and realized that she was looking at me and shaking her head sadly. I didn’t know the reason for that particular action. However, I didn’t question her. After a while, she gave up and went to the bedroom. Some minutes later, I finished typing, posted and went to the bedroom to meet her.

When I got to the bedroom, I met her lying on the bed. She had removed the white towel, and she was as naked as a newborn. I smiled at what I saw and my LGA started picking up steam again.

“Are you done?” She asked.

“Yes.”

“Have your late-night crews seen it?”

“Ha!! I hardly barely finished posting before they attacked it with relish. Check for yourself.” I spoke, handing my phone to her.

“OMG!! A thousand reactions already.” She was dumbfounded.

“Yeah, I told ya.” I laughed.

“You are good, really, really good.”

“Yes, but now let’s see how good I am in bed, too.” I spoke and jumped on the bed, hoping that she would be happy that I had finally come to her.

Instead, she turned her back to me and started crying suddenly. I was confused. Just a few moments ago, she had been in a better mood. What was the reason for the sudden outburst? I hadn’t said anything wrong, neither had I done anything wrong. What could be the reason for this attitude. I tried to turn her around, but she wouldn’t budge. Instead, she shifted gears and cried harder.

I didn’t know what to make of this attitude. I sat on the bed for a while, and then decided that it is possible that she was a virgin and was afraid of her fi

Benefits of Eggs

Benefits of Eggs
I and my relatives were having lunch earlier today and eggs were part of the meal. While eating we discussed the benefits of eggs. After the meal, I did my research abs found out some interesting things about eggs that I would like to share with you.
I found out that eggs are a versatile and nutrient-rich food that offers a wide range of health benefits. They are an excellent source of high-quality protein, essential vitamins and minerals, and beneficial antioxidants. Here are some of the key benefits of incorporating eggs into your diet:
1. High-Quality Protein: Eggs provide all nine essential amino acids, making them a complete protein source. Protein is crucial for building and repairing tissues, producing enzymes and hormones, and maintaining muscle mass.
2. Nutrient-Dense: Eggs are packed with essential vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin B12, riboflavin, folate, choline, phosphorus, and selenium. These nutrients play vital roles in various bodily functions, from supporting eye health to promoting brain function.
3. Weight Management: Eggs can promote a feeling of fullness and help regulate appetite, potentially contributing to weight management. Their high protein content can also help preserve muscle mass during weight loss.
4. Eye Health: Eggs contain lutein and zeaxanthin, antioxidants that protect against age-related macular degeneration and cataracts, two leading causes of vision loss.
5. Brain Health: Choline, an essential nutrient abundant in eggs, plays a crucial role in brain development, memory function, and nerve signaling.
6. Affordability: Eggs are a relatively inexpensive source of high-quality protein and essential nutrients, making them an accessible and budget-friendly food choice.
7. Overall Health: Regular egg consumption can contribute to overall health and well-being by providing essential nutrients, supporting muscle and bone health, and promoting satiety.
There are several benefits of eggs and I believe you too would know some that I didn't mention here. Please, you can add more in the comment box.

TAJ MAHAL: MONUMENTAL BUILDING DURING WAR TIMES

TAJ MAHAL: MONUMENTAL BUILDING DURING WAR TIMES
Taj Mahal is a great historical monument designed very beautifully and prudently. The white marbles are the sole reason behind the monument's grand and bright snowy look.

During WW2, the authorities covered Taj with a huge scaffold to create an illusion of appearing as a stockpile of bamboo. As a result, any enemy bombers in the nearby area were easily misguided. In 1942, the government erected scaffolding to disguise the building in anticipation of the Japanese Air Force air attacks. Also, during the India - Pakistan war of 1965 and 1971, scaffolding was again erected to mislead bomber pilots.

Pretend you love me

Once upon a time in the whimsical town of Make-Believe, there lived a mischievous young girl named Lily. Lily had a knack for playing pranks on her friends and family, always keeping them on their toes. One sunny afternoon, she stumbled upon a magical book hidden in the depths of her grandmother's attic. The book was said to grant one wish to anyone who could solve its riddles.
Curiosity piqued, Lily opened the book and found herself face-to-face with a peculiar creature called the Witty Wombat. The Wombat, known for its sharp wit and cleverness, offered Lily a challenge. "If you can make someone believe you love them without saying the words, I shall grant you one wish," it said with a sly grin.
Determined to prove her wit, Lily set out on her quest. She began by showering her best friend, Oliver, with affectionate gestures. She baked him cookies, wrote him heartfelt letters, and even serenaded him with silly songs. Oliver, oblivious to Lily's true intentions, was overjoyed by her sudden display of affection. He believed her love was genuine, and their friendship blossomed like never before.
As the days went by, Lily continued her charade, pretending to love everyone she encountered. She complimented strangers on their fashion choices, helped elderly neighbors with their groceries, and even adopted a stray cat, showering it with endless affection. The town of Make-Believe was abuzz with rumors of Lily's newfound love for everyone.
Little did Lily know, her acts of pretend love were not in vain. The more she pretended, the more she realized that love, even if initially feigned, had a way of transforming her heart. She began to genuinely care for those around her, and her once mischievous nature softened. The Witty Wombat, impressed by Lily's growth, granted her wish, but Lily no longer needed it. She had discovered the true power of love, even if it began as a playful pretense. And so, Lily continued to spread love and laughter throughout the town of Make-Believe, forever changing the lives of those she encountered.

My Lodge Mate

My Lodge Mate
Part 2

No one seems to know her except Tunde who never really is a good gossiper. I don't know if he really knows anything about her but I could guess they had somuch past business with each other that made them react in such a strange way towards each other.

I still don't understand why she has problems with Tunde. Tunde is really a cute tall fair guy. but from the looks and approaches of Tunde himself towards Oyiza, suggest something that picks everyone's curiosity in our compound. She laughs and hugs everyone in the compound but when it comes to Tunde she has a very dark frown on her face and she moves away while Tunde will rest back his outstretched hands back to his pockets and gives a somewhat hilarious grin. It makes me cracks up with laughter whenever I watch them from my room. Being the nosy neighbour that I am, I did ask her what her problem was with Tunde and she will always reply "I don't like him" and when I ask why? She will reply "for personal reasons" and that would be in a stern unnatural voice that makes cold runs down my skin. I can't help but to think that in all this perfection, there's something dark about her. What is she hiding?

It's a Saturday morning, as usual Oyiza refused to let the poor breath. The aroma of her food is a torture to my nose. It makes me salivate more than I want to. We are all out again at the door steps of Oyiza

"Oyiza waiting to happen now…??"

"Oyiza, you want choke us ni….???"

"Let the poor breath now ehhh Oyiz!!!"

I was just waiting outside to hear her magjc words.

"You all should join me oooo".

I don't need a second invitation, we all don't need a second invitation, within a minute, we are all inside her room. She sets a table for us, and before our hungry stomach and hungry eyes, there was hot steaming semo with well stucked egusi soup. Fish, meat, and everything is peeping from different edges of the pot. There's also fried rice with chicken all heaped on a big tray on the table. Fruits and salads with cartons of soft drinks. Oh good heavens! i became scared but the sight of the chicken refused to let me flee out of her room so I joined the others and ate like have not eaten in my whole life.

I do have class every Saturday but I always miss it because of Oyiza's feast. We will eat, share jokes, play games, talk about the books we've read and the movies we watch. We talk about guys and all but, she never really said anything about herself.
After which I will return to my own lodge with a very full stomach, promising myself that I won't eat food for a month but in all this enjoyment, something tells me something isn't just right.

To be continued 🖤

My Lodge Mate

My Lodge Mate
My lodge mate next door is a very interesting lady. I always stare for long anytime she passes through my yard. I'm a lady too but I can't help it most times to help and admire God's works on nog just her appearance but her bubbling personality.

Her name is Oyiza. She never told me about her surname but why do I need to know anyway. What captivates me about her especially her appearance is her hair, she has long dark, rich, ebony hair which shines under the sun. It hits me the day I ask her if she has relaxed it and she replied "no" it's her natural hair. She has a piecing dark brown big eyes that seems to look right into your soul and her eyelashes are too long and too full that, I can't help but to call it an extension but she also told me that it's her real eye lashes. I had to beg her to let me pull it to be sure it her natural eye lashes. In the process I almost injured her eyes.

She's a very good definition of black beauty. With a nose so pointed like she's a Fulani girl, whereas she's an Ebira girl. She has body hairs too but it so slick and sleeps on her skin making it have a glistering shine in darkness. Her teeths are perfectly white with a gap tooth which has no stain whatsoever. I had to ask her what toothpaste she's using and she told me she's using MacLean!, Ordinary MacLean? I didn't believe her. I believe she's using something else to make her teeth this white!! She also have the most beautiful charming smile with dimples that sinks so cutely into her full cheeks.

To crown her perfection, she's endowed with a body that's the envy of every woman. Full front yard and full backyard with a stomack so flat like a pan. She's a perfect model.

Oyiza my lodge mate is also an azar woman. She has money like cool money. I don't know her account balance but what will one expect of a perfect creation like her? She definitely has men of all caliber lining up to her just to earn her glance. I said men of all caliber because I saw her bringing home sculpted gold and lots of gifts of which I heard she won an award plus a scholership in her depertment after engaging in a competition which she blow everyone with her intellectual prows. So, who won't like someone like that? She also have the most beautiful musical voice that makes you want to listen to her. She's all friendly and a generous giver she gets along with everyone except Tunde our next door lodge mate.

𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

𝗥𝗘𝗙𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡
It had been a long stressful day, after toiling on the farmland for 2hrs, I had to pull out my bottle of water which had become warm already and sat under a tree quite a reasonable shade from the scorching sun and a lovely distance to view the flowing stream.

I gulped down some of the water from my bottle, brought out my device to check out how much time I had left, it was about 35mins, my battery would die before it clocked the time. "Maybe I can explore a little more of nature before I go home" I lazily shrugged, moving closer to the stream. Squatting, I scooped some water and washed my face, I didn't understand if it was necessary or I was just being carried away in the lukewarm wind of thoughts.

Right after washing my face, I gazed at my reflection in the water for a considerable time, 'Must life continue like this always? Struggling to get a good life, family and then die off?' It's like an insane endless cycle that sometimes get you wondering why we're even here.' I paused for a second, stood up and retreated to the tree shade, it was already sunset.

"Bethrand has been gone for one hour already, did he got trapped in his traps?" I soliloquized before emptying the contents of my water bottle. I tried dialing his line but on the second try, my phone buzzed and died out, "Such a pity" I hissed, "We're like this, one day our battery is going to run out, we don't even know whe-" "C'mon let's go home man," Bethrand interrupted from a distance holding a meat in his hand, "Right away" I hastily responded, it's a relief to finally let these thoughts die for a while and live life good while I can.

Either like the flowing stream or the dead device, what matters is the legacy they left behind, just make yours worth it

The corona phobia

From school I fell very ill and when I returned from school too it wasn't funny at all , I kept on taking drugs for over two weeks it wasn't just working out or it will stop during the day and at night it will be like I was delivered to the devil himself and the whole process starts again.
So parents suggested I go for test buh I was so scared because at my dad's work place some people were diagnosed of Corona virus so I just had the phobia for the so called test. The illness wasn't getting funny anymore I decided to go for the test anyways and the results came out and it was malaria and typhoid fever.
Long story short am responding to treatments now , never let fear take the better part of you or you might die in the process , lesson successfully learnt.

My strange Neighbor

We had a neighbor that had stayed in our compound for two years. She seemed so quiet. The woman would leave her house early in the morning without greeting anyone including my parents and none of us had seen her going to church.

The compound was fenced and the houses were spacious with each having their own flats(one bedroom flat). The flats were up to eight in total.

People call her different names of which they said she gave herself.

Regardless of the number of times people preached for her, they all fell on deaf ears. The day I tried sharing the word of God to her she drove me off adding that I should better distance myself from her hence, deáth would be my calling.

That word alone got me thinking.

With the way the woman was behaving, everyone became so curious about her, seeing a grown up woman like that staying all alone wasn't normal at all except if something was hidden underground. She barely had visitors.

Some person's thoughts were

"Is she childless? Could she be barren? What about her friends and family members?"

Others were murmuring and gossiping about her. Seeing her weird behaviours, my parents warned me to stay away from her. Of course I told them I would heed their advice.

I was the type of person that always loves to dig into something that I found suspicious.

"There's something fishy about this woman. I'll get to the bottom of it. I'll look for a way to enter that her house that no one has entered." I told myself.

The day officially came. That day I closed from church on time because of her. The compound was scanty except for the woman that I sighted from our window sitting down on her verandah with hands placed on her cheeks. She was soliloquizing and smiling at the same time.

They restored power and I abruptly went to turn on the pump so that the two tanks could get filled up with water.

Not long, I saw her dressed on a red gown and leaving the house with her bag. I noticed she didn't lock the door. She just shut it and left, I decided to grip hold of that opportunity to dig out what she was hiding.

I trailed her till she left the gate before turning back. I observed the whole place and everyone was absent and majority of them were still in church.

I rushed to our verandah, pulled my palms and crept to her room door. I observed and no one was watching so I opened it, entered inside and shut the door behind me.

Inside the room was filled with sands giving the impression that it hadn't been swept for years.

I trailed it to her room. Everywhere was filled with cobwebs and on top of her bed was a human skull tied with a dark material. I got frightened till my legs began to shake like a leaf. About five red candles were lit they were already half burned. The mattress was so filthy.

The smell oozing out from her room wasn't friendly at all.

I abruptly heard someone's sound and my heàrt flown out. Immediately I turned, I saw her standing there looking at me and speaking in a weird tongue. She had a visage that threatened more than a charging bull.

I retreated and accidentally slipped off, collapsing on the ground.

"What are you doing in my room!" She thundered furiously while drawing close.
Has anyone had such strange experience??

Tragedy

The cool ambiance hit my face as I peered outside the taxi I was sitting in.

I sighed. Today would be my last visit to where Tom was.

Tom was my younger brother whom I have been taking care of. It was my mother's last wish before she passed away.

"Take care of Tom, and protect him at all cost, Phoebe," she said as she let go of the hem of my gown.

Her words continued ringing in my ears for years. I have been shouldering the responsibility of taking care of Tom. He was someone I ought to take care of at all costs.

But now, things have changed because I was leaving for port-harcourt without him.

For some weeks now, whenever I went to visit Tom, he never answered back. I did the talking alone and listened to the bouncing back of my voice.

Hot tears ran down my cheeks. I no longer live a tough life. I was in money, but it looked like something was missing.

"We are here, Miss," the voice of the taxi driver jolted me back from my thoughts.

I wiped my tears with the back of my hand, took out a clean thousand naira note, and told him to keep the change.

I stepped out of the taxi and walked briskly to the duplex where I had workers taking care of Tom.
A slender, tall, fair lady came out of the building and welcomed me with a smile. I only waved in reply to her greeting and entered the building.

She took me to a room and left.

I stood in the cold room which housed a chair and comfy bed on which Tom was lying.

"it's me, Tom," I started to say as I pulled the chair and sat down.

My voice came back at me noisily.

"I am leaving for port-harcourt, so I decided to pay you a last visit," I continued.

"You know, I'm relieved I won't have to visit you anymore, it has been suffocating," I smiled.

I moved close to the place he was lying and lifted my eyes to the ceiling.

"At least, I would not have to see some scary cor…."

The words suddenly stuck in my throat. I choked on my saliva as I struggled to breathe.

I darted my eyes to where Tom was lying, I didn't see him there.

I felt a strong hand on my neck as the grip became tight.
A sinister chuckle echoed in the room and the hairs on my skin rose.

"This is impossible!" I shrieked as I struggled to break free from the stronghold.

Questions ran in my head.
Why was Tom awake? He was supposed to be dead. I killed him!

The person who gave me wealth said I would not have any problem if I follow the procedure of becoming rich- joining the secret society- killing Tom and visiting his corpse for 14 days.

My wicked landlord

My name is Sarah, but my friends call me mumummy G.O I have this ability to Sense danger before it happens, don't know if it is a gift from God, Also I never knew I could see Ghosts too until one Saturday morning.

I was sitting outside, my new compound that i just parked in few days ago, the space outside was like an air conditioned room, the breeze there could make one to sleep. I sat for about 20 minutes, before I dozed off.

Not too long I slept, Someone tapped me, then I woke up, it was a lady, she was quite pretty, fair in complexion and was around her late twenties.

She asked me if I was new here, I told her yes, and I asked her who she was looking for, as I have never seen her face before. There was something odd about this girl, the foul smell that came from her could tell something, but I wasn't getting what was it.

Then I remembered When my friend classic told me about ghosts. 'Jesus Christ could it be that am chatting with a ghost, No way! .

Hey Miss am looking for your Landlord.
My Landlord is not around he travelled I told her.
Ok when he comes back tell him I came looking for him.

When my Landlord came back, I forgot to tell him about what happened.
Few days later I started having nightmares.

There was this lady always chasing me in the dream, she was looking harmless, but she kept chasing after me like I owed her something.

This continued for weeks untill I then finally remembered the lady that came the other day.
I told my Landlord, He just laughed and said mummy G.O are you sure of what you saw?Because the lady in your description died last year.
No sir it is not possible I saw a ghost, I felt ashamed of myself, because my landlord did not believe my story.

I left and since after that day I stopped having nightmares. It was then I started believing I actually saw a ghost.
I was prepared for her Incase she comes next time.

Life continued I almost forgot about the ghost incident, when one Saturday morning my Landlord was found Dead in his room.
What a world, few weeks back I told him about the ghost, then he dies
Is like this my Landlord hand no clean.

I went to see his family and sympathize with them.He had three children, he left now for his poor wife to train. I had much pity on them, but I know God will see them through.

As I was leaving the compound, I saw her, the Ghost lady.
What are doing here, I know that's your doings pointing at my Landlord house.

Tell me more about yourself and how you died
Because the way am seeing this, my Landlord has hand in your death. Yes he sure does the ghost replied it called tooth for tooth my family members saw how I died unjustified so they buried me with matchet and torch to fight for my self.
