The Season is Upon us
I woke up to the wind rustling, lips dry with that feeling of arid air, I could feel my skin thicken in defense to the atmosphere. 'I know this slightly irritating feeling, it can only be Harmattan' I soliloquized, clearing my eyes of the dirt that had piled up in my sleep.
Mustering every energy left, I sprung to my feet, my disgruntled stomach was not having any fun as it sent out rumblings that were translated to 'man, don't let us die from hunger.' Didn't toss anything to the tummy before leaving for church at dawn, the low tone chitchat downstairs between neighbors interrupted my tete-a-tete for a while, "Tummy will have to wait," I mumbled moving out to eavesdrop on the chitchat.
It was a lady, and a guy who had just returned from the Cathedral, he expressed dissatisfaction with the incoming Harmattan while the lady who looked prepared to go out praised God for such a wondrous atmosphere stating that her clothes will dry faster now and sleeping time much more comfortable. I inhaled the dry air, I'm not so comfortable or displeased, I will just have to adjust and survive.
Taking my dried clothes off the rope, I smiled in satisfaction, harmattan reminds me of one thing; the season of good tidings, it's been a long year, alas! there will be time to sit back with loved ones and celebrate under the sound of jingle bells ⛄
There's nothing to worry about, the atmosphere is perfectly setting the floor for CHRISTMAS
