CEO′s Story

Yesterday, the awaited Hamster airdrop finally paid out, but the amount was so small that many people were calling it "dust." It was disappointing after waiting for two months and tapping their game daily, but I didn’t really expect much to begin with.

With the little I got, which amounted to just 9,000 naira, I decided to treat myself. I made a delicious pot of okro soup with some good beef to lift my spirits. At least, if the money wasn’t plenty, I could still eat well and feel a bit better about the whole thing.

Honestly, I can’t say I deserved more from the airdrop. The platform had a huge community, so I wasn’t surprised that the reward wasn’t much. It’s always a gamble with these things, especially when there are a lot of people involved.

Even though the payout was underwhelming, I appreciate that they even paid at all. Some projects never do. So, in a way, they tried, and that’s worth acknowledging.

All the same, I’m still hopeful for better opportunities. Maybe the next airdrop will be bigger and more rewarding. I keep praying for a lucky one, because small wins like these are what we rely on sometimes.

Rich promises

Around 1 PM today, the almighty anticipated listing of the Hamster Kombat market was supposed to happen, and we were all eagerly waiting for it.

When it finally listed at just $0.001, I couldn’t help but burst into laughter. I thought about all the coins and tokens that my people had been boasting about over the last week, them be no gree me hear word.

They told me they were going to get rich today, on listing day, and how they were planning to cash out before anyone else. Me too, i jejely, accepted and we were waiting for the millions to hit their accounts.

But seeing the reality was like a gunshot. After the listing, it became painfully clear to them that they would be making nothing more than a minimal amount of dollars.

It was hard to contain my laughter as I watched them lament all through the day 😃😃 their time investment in something that turned out to be a little reward.
I knew the amount of time these guys invested into tapping.

Bad Omen

Bad Omen
A long time ago I was so stubborn , strong headed and I was also a narcissist to crown it all up. It wasn't something of just my will or what I wanted to do I was told my grandma was a Queen mother in a coven that when I was a toddler she brought water from the black sea and washed my face that is why am always this terrible child, a living and breathing bad omen.

I was so notorious In our community I have been brought to the council of elders severally for one offence on every other day but as we all know practice makes perfect, so I gained mastery in my devilish craft and I was a mafia at the age of 18 years old and our operations is in secret in the claws of the dark.

A mission was brought to us to steal the scepter of rulership from our king we were sent by a white man that came all the way from Canada because the scepter is worth millions of dollars so it became a deal and we plotted an attack strategy and the percentage we would leech off the foreigner. I was developing cold feet about the mission but I just had to harden my heart.

We attacked on the 7th market day in the 7th month so there is always a festival in the king's palace we had our eyes In the palace that poisoned the drink of the king and he had to sleep he was taken to the chamber and I went there I saw the scepter steering at me in the eyes and I grabbed it I couldn't move and I couldn't get my hands off it my friends touched me too and they were glued to me. We were arrested and dealt with I came to a concise conclusion that crimes don't pay at all

A headache from water

A headache from water
I went to a small shop run by a woman near my home because I needed some water. I picked up a bag of sachet water and thought that the story would end there, but it didnt.

When I took a sip, I noticed something was off. The taste was strange and not good at all. I tried to manage it and act as if it was a minor thing, but soon after, I started to get a headache. I hadn’t had a headache in a long time, and I couldn’t understand why it was happening now just some minute after I finished one sachet of water.

It was clear to me that the water was making me feel this way. I wasn't a doctor, but I could tell something was wrong.

So, I decided to put the sachet of water aside. I went to another shop and bought a new bag of water. This one tasted better and felt right.

After this occurrence, I doubt if I will be buyibg water from that very shop again, I can't be rushing my health or loosing my money.

The Bump

The Bump
I was in the market to pick up a few personal items.
I wanted to get some new clothes and a nice pair of footwear.
I was on my headsets, listenening to my favorite playlist. I was really enjoying the melodies, humming along as I pushed through the heavy crowed crowd.

When I reached the stall selling footwear, I began bargaining with the vendor, to bargain means to reduce steez, but who steez help for this economy?
My mind was focused, and I was already imagining myself wearing the new shoes. But just as we were negotiating, a sudden jab on my shoulder drew away my attention.

Out of nowhere, a young lady had brushed past me her pace showed urgency and panic but that wasn't the problem, In her haste, she had accidentally bumped into me, and my headphones flew from my ears, hitting the ground loudly.

I bent down to pick them up, only to discover that they were broken. I was straight up annoyed bur as I raised my head in anger to possibly confront the lady who has caused a mess, she was almost trying to kneel and apologise.

That single act got me and all anger left me, I stopped her from kneeling and couldn't react much after she narrated how late she was for a test.

Wasted two weeks

After joining my friends on Catizen, I was really excited about qualifying for the airdrop. We had been playing for weeks, putting in time and energy. The day came for us to check if we made it. My friend was the first to check hers, and I immediately noticed the change in her expression. She went from smiling to frustrated in a matter of seconds. I asked her what she got, but she didn't say anything. Unfortunately, my app wasn’t working at the time, so I had to wait.

After about two long hours, she finally helped me check mine. The result was the last thing I wanted to see, I didn’t qualify for the airdrop. I couldn’t believe it. After spending my data and time playing the game for two whole weeks, it felt like all my effort had gone down the drain. I was really looking forward to that airdrop; it was supposed to be a reward for all the time and energy I put into the game.

I turned to my friend, still in disbelief, and asked her if this was how things usually go with the airdrops. She told me that sometimes things don’t always go as planned, and it hit me that this was just one of those unlucky times. It didn’t make it any less painful, though. All that effort and anticipation gone, just like that.

I had even started planning my budget, thinking about what I’d do with the money once I received it but I have to believe something better will come.

The Needle Teaches

The Needle Teaches
Kosi was a young boy of four years old, he was a son to one of my cousin's.
Growing up, I literally nurtured this little boy as if was my own son. We were close like a mother and son.
Even though Kosi respected me so much, there was one thing he would never heed to, even his original mother couldn't stop him.

Playing under the rain was the little boy's hobby, he never missed a chance to play under the rain no matter how unhealthy it was. His mother had tried everything, but each time he was prevented from having fun while it rain, he became weary of cry and falls sick afterwards.
Subsequent occurance had made his mother give up on restricting him.

I on my own part had tried my best but nothing seemed to work. We would only monitor him as he danced around the compound while it rained, and warned him from moving father from our sight. Since playing under the rain seemed a vital part of it, we all accepted it as a little culture.

On one occasion after Kosi had performed his usual habit, he became sick the next day. His joints hurt and he couldn't hide it.
After he was taken to the hospital, it was realised that he had caught pneumonia. The doctor placed him on 3 injections each in the morning and in the evening for straight 3 days.

When Kosi recovered, he couldn't face the fear of having anything cause him to return to the hospital and have those dreadful needles in his buttocks, and so, the habit was ridded.

Not current

Not current
The last two days have been really tough for me. My phone, which I loved very much, suddenly stopped working. I tried to turn it on, but nothing happened.

You see, a little while ago, my phone’s battery broke, so I got a new one that wasn’t the original. At first, it seemed okay, but then my phone started turning off by itself, like it wanted to play hide and seek. I hoped it would be alright, but one day, it just stopped working completely.

I was heartbroken! I thought I could fix it, so I went to the market. I hoped to find an original battery, one just like the one that came with my phone. I walked around, asking all the sellers if they had it. But one by one, they shook their heads.
Without my phone, I couldn’t play my favorite games or watch funny videos. I really missed those things! In school, I paid attention to my teachers, but in my mind, I was thinking about my phone and all the fun I was missing.

You might wonder how I wrote the story but to be honest I have this phone plugged onto the electricity before I'm able to.

The phone trick

The phone trick
Today, I woke up feeling tired, knowing I had a busy day ahead. After my morning exercise, my phone rang it was an old customer who regularly buys electronics from us. He asked to meet at the store, and I rushed there, hoping for a significant sale. We met, and he started checking through our products. After some time, he selected a few items, and we began the transaction process.

The total came out to be 80k, and I was excited, with a big sense of achievement for the day. I packaged the goods, and we exchanged pleasantries. However, just as he was about to leave, I asked him for what mode of payment he will be using, then he said he had left his phone on my table as "evidence" that he would return to make payment and claim his phone. I thought it was a strange request, but I didn't think much of it. I handed over the goods, expecting him to return soon, maybe as an old customer I should have some level trust.

But as the day went by, I realized I had been cheated. He never showed up, and his phone was switched off. I felt frustrated and disappointed. I had been tricked out of 80k. I couldn't believe I had trusted him.

Do you think he will return???

How I lost

How I lost
A week ago, I poured my heart and soul into writing a story that I truly believed could win the competition. I spent countless hours crafting the plot, developing how to convey my story, and making sure every word felt just right. Yesterday was the big day, the day the competition would be decided, and I was so anxious to see how my story would perform.

As the clock ticked down, I stayed awake, watching the numbers lag painfully behind. I had reached out to all my friends, both near and far, asking them to support me by liking my story. They did, but it didn’t seem to make a difference. Despite their best efforts, my story wasn’t gaining the attraction I hoped for or needed to qualify.

My phone had died earlier in the night, which meant I missed out on precious time to promote my story. I managed to wake up around 11 PM, uncertain and worried, only to find that everyone I knew was already asleep. I felt a wave of disappointment wash over me as I noticed that my friends had all gone offline. I sent out links to my story, but it felt like shouting into the void; there was no response.

The anxious feeling inside me grew as I watched the clock. The competition was set to end at 1 PM, and as each minute passed, my heart sank a little deeper. My story was still lagging behind in likes, and I didn’t know what else to do.

Well, I lost the game but then, I could still try again right?

Would be a long night

Would be a long night
I was sleeping when i suddenly noticed that i was feeling too cold as if i had wetted myself on bed. It was supposed to be a beautiful sleep but i couldnt continue to sleep halvely.

I stood up and looked around the dark room. My heart sank when I noticed the water cup had fallen over, soaking my bed. I let out a frustrated sigh and ran my hand through my hair.

"I thought I had already suffered enough through the day," I said quietly to myself. Now I had to change my clothes and clean up the bed, which felt like a lot of work.

I wanted to sleep, but it felt like I had awakened a haunting memory of sleepless nights. With a sigh, I got some towels to clean up the mess, knowing this night would be longer than I wanted.

And instead of just wasting the rest of the night feeling so annoyed, I'd rather write this story.
Good night dearies.

Nemesis

My phone was almost dead, and there wasn't anywhere nearby to charge it. The only option was to leave the house and walk for about 20 minutes to a street that had electricity. Our own street had been in a blackout for over two months, so finding a place to charge was always a struggle.

Just as I was about to head out, it started raining heavily. The worst part was that I didn’t have an umbrella. I waited for about two hours, hoping the rain would stop, but it just kept pouring. I was getting anxious because I really needed to charge my phone.

Eventually, I realized the rain wasn’t going to let up anytime soon. I wrapped my phone and power bank in a bag to keep them dry and decided to brave the rain. By the time I got to the street with electricity, I was completely soaked from head to toe. I blame NEPA for everything I'm going through this period, it hasn't been easy at all.

A mistake

A mistake
Last week was a big problem with my phone. It started freezing, and I got very frustrated. I couldn't use my apps or send messages without waiting. After a few days of this, I decided to do something.

I heard that clearing the app data for Chrome might help my phone work better. I went ahead and did it without thinking too much. I thought it would fix my phone, but I didn’t know it would cause more trouble!

The next morning, I woke up feeling hopeful. I wanted to log into my MindViewers account to catch up on things. But when I tried to sign in, I started to panic. I realized that clearing the app data had deleted all my logins and passwords. I couldn't remember my MindViewers password, and I struggled to think of it.

To make things worse, I had changed the email linked to my account recently and couldn’t remember my new email address. I felt completely lost and frustrated. I looked at my phone, feeling stuck, like I couldn't get in.

For a couple of days, I tried to stay calm, but it was hard. I searched through all my notes and tried every email I could think of. Every time I thought I had the right one, it was wrong. Just yesterday, something good happened, I backed up my google cloud and got my password back.
I had to wait out the 24hr interval until now.

Favourite Charger

Favourite Charger
It all started when I bought my favorite charger for 5,000 Naira. It wasn’t just any charger; it was special to me. I had hoped it would last for years and not break down on me, even after five years. I took good care of it, always keeping it safe and using it gently.

One day, I went to a friend’s place and used my charger to boost my phone’s battery. We had a great time chatting and relaxing, and I lost track of the hours. By the time I wanted to leave, it was late. I hurried to gather my things but somehow, in the rush, I forgot my charger at the station. I was so tired that I barely thought about it.

When I woke up the next morning, the first thing I thought about was my charger. I had a funny feeling in my stomach as I remembered I had left it behind. I quickly rushed to the station, hoping it would still be there. But when I arrived, the spot where I had left it was empty. My heart sank.

I searched everywhere, looking under the benches and asking people if they had seen it. I waited for a while, but no one seemed to have found it. It felt like my charger had disappeared into thin air, swallowed by the abyss. I couldn’t believe it. I had treasured that charger, and now it seemed to be lost forever.

As I walked home, I felt a mixture of sadness and disappointment. How could I have been so careless? I should have been more careful and made sure I had everything before leaving. That charger meant more to me than just money; it was a part of my daily life.

I told myself that maybe I could budget and save up to buy a new one. But honestly, it wouldn’t be the same. I regretted taking it for granted, thinking it would last forever. I learned a hard lesson about being responsible for my things and taking the time to check before leaving.

Bad haircut that I had Today

Bad haircut that I had Today
Today, I went to get a haircut in the afternoon. I was excited because my hair was bushy and I wanted it to look nice. I usually go to the same barbershop because the barber there knows how I like my hair.

When I got to the shop, I found it was closed. I felt sad because I really wanted that barber to cut my hair. I didn’t want to go home without a haircut, so I remembered another barbershop nearby. I had seen it a few times before while I passed, so I thought it would be okay to try it.

As I walked to the new shop, I felt a little nervous. I wasn’t sure if the new barber would do a good job. When I got there, I saw it was different from my usual shop, but I decided to wait.

When it was my turn, the barber started cutting my hair. At first, I felt uncertain, as he didn’t seem careful. I didn’t say anything because I hoped it would turn out fine.

When he finished, I looked in the mirror and was shocked. One side of my hair was much shorter than the other! I couldn’t believe how uneven it looked. I felt disappointed because I had wanted a nice haircut and I could have gotten one if only I followed my instincts.

This man almost ruined my day and I'm still worried on how I am going to appear in school tomorrow with this new clown look.

A paltry Trade

A paltry Trade
I used to love fried foods, but lately, I just haven't been in the mood for them. So, it had been months since I last bought any.
The other day, I was so hungry! I had just gotten ingredients for a soup, but I couldn't wait for it to be ready. I needed something to hold me over.

That's when I spotted a woman selling potatoes and plantains nearby. I thought, "Perfect! I'll just grab some of those to munch while I cook."
I confidently approached the woman and handed her a 500 naira note. "Please mix some potatoes and plantains for me," I said. I was expecting a big bag full of food, like I usually get.

But when she finished, I was confused! There were only 4 small potatoes and 2 tiny plantain chips. I thought maybe she wasn't done yet, so I asked her to confirm. But she said, "Yes, that's it."

My 500 naira had gotten me almost nothing. I realized then that we're really struggling with inflation. Prices have gone up so much, and it's hard to get value for your money.
I left there feeling disappointed, hungrier, and tired. My appetite was gone as well as that once valuable naira note.

Lost Hope for New Shoes

Lost Hope for New Shoes
I've been saving up for a new pair of shoes I saw two months ago, and I was so close to reaching my goal. Just last week, I only needed about 2,000 naira more to buy them. But then problem came.

My friend came over and borrowed my phone charger. I specifically told him to only use it in his house, but he didn't listen. He took the charger to a betting shop to charge his phone, and that's where the trouble started.

Someone in the shop swapped my charger with a fake one that doesn't work at all! Can you believe it? My friend was lucky they didn't steal his phone too. Maybe the thief took pity on him.

Because of my friend's carelessness, I had to use some of my savings to buy a new charger. I couldn't wait any longer, I needed it urgently. But now, I have to start saving all over again for my shoes. It's frustrating.

I'm still annoyed with my friend for not listening to me. If only he had followed my instructions, none of this would have happened. Now, I have to wait even longer to get my new shoes.

I'll be more careful about lending out my belongings, and I hope my friend learns to listen to instructions too.

Could be better

Could be better
I decided to follow in my elder brother's footsteps and try my hand at repairing damaged electrical appliances. For years, I had watched in awe as he effortlessly brought dead devices back to life. His patience and skill seemed almost magical, and I longed to possess the same abilities.

My opportunity arrived when my charger started malfunctioning, only delivering partial current. I figured it was the perfect candidate for my maiden repair attempt. With a mix of excitement and trepidation, I loosened the screws and cautiously began to explore the inner workings.

As I fondled with the wires, I couldn't help but wonder if I was doing everything right. My brother made it look so easy, but now I was faced with the daunting reality of potentially causing more harm than good.

Despite my doubts, I pressed on, reassembling the charger with a sense of determination. The moment of truth arrived when I plugged it into the extension cord to test it. I kept a safe distance, stretching my hand to plug it in, my heart racing with anticipation.

And then, in an instant, the expected explosion happened. A loud spark, a flash of light, and a jolt of electricity sent me leaping backward, desperate to catch my breath. I had barely escaped the blast, my heart still racing from the close call.

As I stood outside, trying to process what had just occurred, I couldn't help but laugh at my own naivety. I had underestimated the power of electricity and overestimated my abilities.

Though my first attempt ended in failure, I was determined to try again, But for now, I'll stick to observing from a safe distance. I still believe that what a man can do, a woman can too.

When Hardwork isn′t enough

When Hardwork isn′t enough
I spent two whole nights cramming for my cardiovascular exams, checking every word in my textbooks. I had no idea what to expect on the actual exam day, so I figured I'd better be prepared. After saying my prayers, I headed to the exam venue, feeling pretty confident.

But what I saw there totally threw me off. Everyone was scribbling notes on tiny pieces of paper, calling it a "chip." I was like, "Wait, what's going on here?" It dawned on me that all these students were cheating, while I'd been studying honestly, pouring my heart and soul into it.

I felt so discouraged, my mind went blank. All that intense reading, and nothing seemed to stick. I left the exam hall feeling angry and betrayed. Was it all worth it? I wondered. It seemed like no one else had put in the effort I had.
To make matters worse, some people even carried their phones into the exam hall right in front of me! I couldn't believe it. It was like, what's the point of even trying?

I kept on thinking, "Is this what education has come to?" It was a real wake-up call for me.
I know exactly what to do next time.

My Trophies

My Trophies
Growing up, I had always prided myself on being the fastest runner in our neighborhood, a title I had earned through countless races against my friends, siblings, and cousins. Most evenings, we would gather in the yard, racing until the sun dipped below the horizon. I was the champion, always crossing the finish line first, my friends running behind me. I was an upcoming Usain Bolt.

However, this time was different. It was duribg inter-house competition for my SS2 class, a much bigger event that included not just my classmates but older students from SS3 set and even some from lower classes. I had talked about the big game to friends, boasting to my family about my outstanding running capabilities and how I was sure I’d bring home the trophy. I could already visualize my moment of glory, holding that trophy high above my head while my friends cheered me on.

The day of the race arrived, and as I warmed up, I felt a blend of confidence and nervous energy. I practiced with my team, strategizing how we could outpace our rivals. But as the test runs progressed, I quickly realized that things might not go as smoothly as I had imagined.

During one of our practice laps, we lined up, ready to take off. As the whistle blew, I dashed forward, ready to leave everyone in my dust. Yet, within moments, the two boys in front of me, a shorter one with surprising speed and one slim kid whose long legs seemed to propel him forward, were already miles ahead. I pushed harder, but no matter how fast I ran, they continued to widen the gap.

With every step, disappointment washed over me. I had underestimated both of them, especially the shorter boy, who was ahead as if he were a true athlete. As I watched them pull further away, the ease with which they ran remained a reminder of my overconfidence.

“Was I really that fast?” I thought, the reality settling in. I felt embarrassed and frustrated; my dreams of winning that trophy was gone in the air.
I gave up instantly on partaking in the running competition any longer and joined long jump team.
