New Shifts

New Shifts
I had been looking forward to going home for a short break, but things didn’t go as planned. Life threw lemons, and before I knew it, the opportunity slipped away. I couldn’t make the trip, but I knew I had to find another way to show my love and care. So, I decided to send a gift home instead, something that could carry my heartfelt thoughts.

I reached out to a trustworthy friend and shared my plans with him. He understood how important this was to me and agreed to help. Within two weeks, he traveled to my state, picked up the gift I had prepared, and headed back home to deliver it directly to my Mom.

Then, the moment I had been waiting for finally came. My phone rang, and it was my Mom on the other end. She was so happy, screaming with joy, and full of gratitude. Her voice was filled with excitement, and she couldn’t stop thanking me. It was one of those moments where you just feel like everything was worth it.

Soon after, my sisters called as well. They were part of the plan too, and they were equally overjoyed. Each of them took turns expressing how much they appreciated the effort I made to make them all feel loved and thought of. It wasn’t just about the gift; it was about the thought behind it, and they all felt it deeply.

After I hung up, I sat there for a moment, letting it all sink in. I felt incredibly blessed. There was something about being able to provide for my family, even from a distance, that made me feel proud. It wasn’t just about being a son or a brother anymore; I was starting to understand what it meant to be someone they could rely on.

I realized that I was slowly stepping into a new role. I was becoming a caregiver, maybe even a man.

A lot changed

A lot changed
I came home after some time at school and working outside. As I was returning, I enjoyed looking at my neighborhood. The palm trees were tall and green, just like I remembered.

Suddenly, I had a flashback. I thought about the days when we were all at home together. I didn't have to work back then. My big sister was still in university, and my little sister was in secondary school. We used to pick palm fruits after they were cut down from the trees. We had so much fun together.

How I laughed when I recall how cunny I was then just to ease my own workload. I always had a way to sweet talk my way at the slightest detection that I was lagging in picking speed.

Thinking about those times made me happy. But now, it felt different. My big sister is married, and my little sister is still in school. Things have changed a lot. I still love my family, but I miss the good old days when we were all together at home but that's growth for you.

Back then, it wasn't really like I enjoyed the stress of picking those fruits with my siblings, but remembering it, all I see is family love.

🌹Back In Time🌹
Adaeze was a young spinster in her mid thirties ,First Daughter of The Otutuchkwu’s Family. She is a gorgeous lady ,chubby , and has dazzling eyes ,glowing skin and voice that makes ones’ heart jingle, who always helped others succeed but sadly, was a shadow of herself.
She could go any length to make others happy but she was bittered and sour. Her father passed on after a scorpion 🦂 sting on their way to farm one evening, and ever since then ,her and her mother had to take care of her siblings, feeding once a day from the cassava farm then had.
As each day ,month and years passes ,Adaeze was always reprimanded and reminded to bring home a hubby especially her mother who won’t let her hear the last of it ;in her mother’s voice Adaeze “Kedu mgbe ị ga-akpọta di(When will you bring home a husband?),aren’t you go to give me grandchildren?”,you know I’m aging, all your siblings are married yet no one has come to ask of your hands in marriage.
These words always seems to pierce the Adaeze’s heart because suitors aren’t coming by.
All are siblings are all married with children and she is still hoping on God.
She went on job hunting on faithful morning, where flashes of her mom’s life-tormenting words keep hitting on her ,flashing through her memories, little did she know ,lost in thought 💭 she was approaching a moving vehicle which almost knocked her down

The young man in his early fourties’ came down from his vehicle and saw Adaeze on the floor, helped her up and cleaned her dress that was dusty as a result of her subconsciousness that drifted her to fall.He offered her a ride,
and asked why she was lost in thoughts and tearing up.
She explained to the young man that she was coming back from job hunting but wasn’t qualified for the job because she barely was academically qualified as her father died early and her poor mother could barely afford a three square meal;so she couldn’t exceed the secondary school level and the job required a BSc holder, and the CEO of the company was desperately trying to have sexual advances on her so she could pass the interview but Adaeze declined the offer and slammed the door.
After the young man heared her story ,he was touched and decided to her find a befitting job of her qualification.
Little did she know it was the young man ,she helped in the past shivering on a park bench after a heavy downpour, with his clothes drenched.Without hesitation, Adaeze offered him her jacket and directed him to a nearby shelter.
He later recognized her ,approached her with a warm smile, his eyes filled with gratitude.
"I'll never forget what you did for me that night," he said. "It changed my life."
Adaeze was surprised but touched. She had no idea that her small act of kindness had had such a profound impact. The young man, whose name was Alvin, told her how her jacket had kept him warm that night.
As they talked, Adaeze realized that Alvin had become a successful business man and established several companies over the globe. She was filled with a sense of joy and satisfaction, knowing that her compassion had made a difference in someone's life.
Few years passed and Adeaze beauty draw Alvin’s attention. He proposed to her in the park they first met ,they lived happily ever after.

Weekly Roundups

Weekly Roundups
I had taken a nap from 6 — 9pm, and it turned out to be exactly what my body needed. It was an unexpected rest that helped me recharge and get back on track. When I woke up, my phone was buzzing. It was my mom, she never misses our Sunday call routine.

With a dizzy voice, I answered the call. She immediately started to apologize for disturbing me, but I cut her off. Honestly, what more could I ask for than the love and care of a devoted mother? Her calls are a regular part of my week, and they mean a lot to me.

Nobody else calls me as often as she does, especially on weekends. Her calls are a check-up on my progress, my health, and, most importantly, whether I made it to church. It’s something I look forward to each week.

Today, everything was in order. I had made it to church, my health was good, and I updated her on everything she wanted to know. The stress I had been feeling lately seemed to lift, thanks to her love and concern. It’s amazing how such a simple phone call can have such a positive impact on my day.

Hanging up, I felt much better and more grounded. It’s moments like these that remind me of how lucky I am to have such a caring mother in my life.

MY LOST NECKLACE

MY LOST NECKLACE
Many years ago when I was still a kid, I lost my best friend at a very tender age, literally we shared everything together and we even slept together in each other house many times but everything came to a standstill when I lost him.

Well, I was told they traveled but I couldn't believe the fact that my best friend will travel without letting me know first but I accepted it but I kept hoping that we will see again anytime I looked at the necklace he gave me

Some years later, I was later told my friend didn't traveled but had gone to the hospital for leukemia and couldn't make it out. Hearing that my legs were limb and my tongue tied up.

I ran to my room to get the necklace he gave me but I couldn't find it anymore and I lost it completely. For the fact that my friend died and the lost necklace as well, I was emotionally drained.

Thank God for the timely intervention of my parents, I was rehabilitated, according to them I was going through an emotional trauma which could have affect me badly

Growing up I still live with the regret of not helping my friend and losing the necklace he cherish, I always cry thinking about him always telling me that everything will be fine.

You can Learn Anything

You can Learn Anything
I've always wanted a laptop since I was in Year 1. I remember sitting in class, watching my friends use their laptops for their homework and projects. I would dream about having one of my own. But when I got into the university, I started to think more about my family's situation. My parents spent a lot of money on my education, especially before I began university. I had siblings who were also in school, and I did not want to be selfish and ask for a laptop when I knew they needed things too.

Two years later, something amazing happened. It was my birthday, and I walked into the living room, expecting to find the usual cake and birthday wishes. Instead, my parents surprised me with a brand-new laptop! I was so shocked.

I couldn't wait to use it for my classes, to do research, and to connect with my friends. But once I turned it on, I realized I had a lot to learn. There were so many buttons and features I didn’t know how to use. Basic tasks felt challenging at first, and I sometimes felt frustrated.

I decided that instead of giving up, I would take my time to learn. I started by watching simple how-to videos online. I learned how to open files, create documents, and use different programs. Each small victory made me feel more confident. I also found some apps that helped me study and manage my time better.

Every day, I would sit down with my laptop and practice. Sometimes I asked my friends or older siblings for help when I got stuck. They showed me new tricks and shortcuts that made using the laptop much easier. The more I learned, the more I realized how useful it could be for my studies and hobbies.

I also started exploring creative skills, like digital art and music production. With my laptop, I could write stories, edit videos, and even learn to code.
It doesn't end, for now, the advantages that I've seen is the larger frame and more tools for each tab, also the faster processor.

Always learn my people.

Right on Time

Right on Time
I was still in primary school back then when this incident happened.
It was a normal day when my sister and I came home from school. We sat down to eat our lunch, smelling the delicious food my mom had made, when suddenly we heard a strange sound. It was like stones hitting the roof, making a loud noise.

Curious, we jumped up and ran outside. What was happening? We stood there in shock, looking at the sky. That’s when we realized it wasn’t stones at all—it was ice! Ice was falling from the sky, bouncing off the ground and rolling away.

It felt like a scene from a movie, and we were excited to watch. My sister and I looked at each other with big eyes, and without thinking, we started to pick up the pieces of ice. We were thrilled, thinking it would be fun to eat it.

My sister collected a lot of ice in her little hands. We were just waiting for the right time to try it, but then our mom came outside. She saw us and rushed over with a worried look on her face.

Taking the ice from our hands. She explained that it might not be safe to eat ice that had fallen from the sky. We felt a little sad but listened to her. She spoke to us friendly and softly so that we dont feel bad before pouring them away and taking us back inside the house.

Ceramic Surprise

About four months ago, I had a talk with my dad. We were discussing the new building project he had planned, and somehow it turned into a conversation about my room. My dad said he wouldn’t be putting tiles on the floor, and I thought he was trying to trick me. I argued that having floor tiles would be cool and different. "Why choose the same old styles? Tiles would be fun!" I said.

He smiled, but I could tell he was being a bit sneaky. "Trust me, there won’t be any tiles when you come home from school" he said. I wanted to believe him, but I had a feeling he might be lying.

After our talk, I went about my day, wondering what he would really choose for my room. When the day finally came, my dad gave me the key to my room. I felt excited as I unlocked the door.

When I walked in, I was shocked. The whole floor was covered in beautiful tiles! I couldn’t believe it. My dad actually did it! I had a feeling he was tricking me, but I was so happy. The tiles were exactly what I wanted.

I laughed and danced around my room in excitement. My dad might have played a little trick on me, but he knew I would love it. I realized that sometimes a small surprise can make you really happy.

Submerged Underwater

Submerged Underwater
This was during holiday season that I will never forget, my uncle and aunty came to visit our family, they brought with them a lot of gifts and there were lots of fun, they took me and my siblings out to places that amazed us because we had never been there before. We visited places like rivers, cinemas and other places of high value. My uncle and aunty are siblings from the same mother and father.

One morning during this holiday, my uncle promised to take me and my siblings to somewhere later in the evening, that he wants to go somewhere with my aunty and so we should prepare so we can all go to the places once he returns with my aunty. My uncle drove out with my aunty and it was as if we should fast forward the time, because we couldn’t wait to find out where they wanted to take us to.

Later that afternoon, a very heavy rain fell for hours, deep in my mind, I was praying that the rain stops before evening so my uncle and aunty can return and take us to this exciting surprise place. The rain fell till evening and later stopped, me and my siblings were set to go on this outing, but my uncle and aunty didn’t return. We waited till night, and we were sure at this point that the outing won’t be possible anymore.

My uncle and aunty later returned in the night around 8 pm and they came home without the car they drove out with; they were soaked in water from head to toe, and their clothes were very wet. While the rain was falling, they were driving along a construction site where a big and large pit was dogged, there was water everywhere, even the pit was filled up with water and they drove into the pit. The car was completely submerged underwater and water filled up everywhere inside the car. Water covered my uncle and aunty, and they started gasping for breath, their lives flashed before their eyes.

Luckily for them, they were rescued by people that were passing by when this happened, the car was towed to the workshop, the engine and all electrical equipment in it was damaged. My uncle and aunty came home traumatized because they had thought that it’s their last moment on earth, if not for the people that came to their rescue, although we missed the outing we planned to embark on, we were happy that their lives was not lost, it would have been a very tragic incident.

Home at Last

I was sent an errand to another state two days ago. I spent hours trying to sort out what I went there for. As the bus finally parked into the garage, I felt a wave of exhaustion wash over me. The long journey had taken it's toll - cramped seats, delayed connections, and endless hours of sitting had left me feeling drained.
I gathered my belongings and made my way through the crowded platform, my legs aching with each step. The thought of facing the rest of my day, of unpacking and settling back into routine, felt like a monumental task.

As I emerged from the garage, I was greeted by the bright sunlight, I squinted and raised my hand to shield my eyes, feeling like a traveler emerging from a long, dark tunnel.(Nigeria and bad road ehn🤧)
I had lost count of the hours, the minutes, the seconds. All I knew was that I was tired, tired of moving, tired of waiting, tired of being in transit.

I made my way home on my last "body battery". As I opened the door to our house, I felt a wave of relief wash over me this time, as my mum had already prepared dinner.

With a sigh and a smile, I dropped my bags to the floor and collapsed onto the couch, letting out a deep breath as I felt the soft cushions envelop me. I greeted my mum, but I didn't move from there, I closed my eyes, and let myself drift away into a well-deserved sleep. The journey was over, and I was home at last.

A slip that almost cost a life

A slip that almost cost a life
I loved climbing trees even as a girl, especially this particular tall one we called the Ujuru tree in Igbo. It had delicious fruits, but I didn’t climb it for the fruits. I climbed because I loved the view from the top.

My parents often warned me not to climb the Ujuru tree, but I couldn't resist. One day, I decided to climb all the way to the top, what a mumu move, As I reached the tip, I suddenly slipped and felt myself falling. In that scary moment, I saw my life flash before my eyes.
Doubt if you know that feeling.

But just as I thought I would fall, a branch caught me! I couldn't believe it. I managed to grab hold and slowly climbed down, and sat on the ground, thinking about how precious my life was than to view the beauty of nature from high angles.

I thought a lot about what had just happened. That experience taught me a big lesson. I realized that climbing the Ujuru tree wasn’t worth the risk and from that day on, I never climbed that tree again because I didnt want to meet my creator already.

Proctected by God

My mum wanted to let us know the power of prayer and decided to tell us something that happened to her while she was still very young and wasn’t married at that time. My siblings gathered around, including me, to hear of this incident that she didn’t forget for such a long while. My mum was triggered to tell us this story because of our last born who likes to sleep whenever prayer sessions are going on in the house, as a way of encouraging all of us.

She said that on that faithful day, she had finished dressing to go out to somewhere, and as usual, she prayed before leaving. But the moment she stepped outside, a voice told her to go back inside and pray, she went back inside and prayed as the voice had told her. After praying, she left the house, and again the voice told her to go inside and pray again, she started wondering what could be wrong, but she obeyed and went back inside to pray. The voice still told her to go and pray the third when she wanted to leave again, and she obeyed and went back the third time to pray before finally leaving for where she was going to.

My mum said that she was still living in her village that time, and the place was very undeveloped as at then. She navigated a road that was very lonely, quiet and bushy. A man stepped out from the bush and blocked her, while calling out to another man inside the bush to bring something which later turned out to be a cutlass. According to my mum, she was still standing there and didn’t attempt to escape. The first man carried up the cutlass to strike my mum, but his hand became stiff and he couldn’t execute the action no matter how hard he struggled, it was as if something was holding his hand so he could not swing the cutlass. But he was able to put the cutlass back gently, the second person decided to try and the same thing happened again. They gave up after they could not swing the cutlass at my mum, looked at her in shock and made way for her to pass.

My mum passed and got to where she was going safely, that voice that told her to pray must have been God and He had delivered her from death that day. She saw the two men in church the following Sunday, they miraculously repented after that encounter, they also wanted to find out and get involve in wherever my mum worshipped, because it was very clear to them that it was not an ordinary being that protected her, it was the supreme and almighty God. We were very much surprised to hear this story of hers.

Just a Carpet

Last week, I moved into my new rented place, and I was excited to make it feel like home. My dad was kind enough to support me financially, and he promised to visit once I'd finished setting up. I had everything I needed, except for one thing - a carpet.

I ordered the carpet online, thinking it would be faster. But the vendor kept giving me excuses, day after day. "The design is out of stock," "The delivery guy is sick," "The carpet is still being made"... I mean, come on! I was patient at first, but as the days went by, I grew more frustrated.

The day my dad was supposed to visit finally arrived, and I was still waiting for the carpet. I was starting to get anxious, thinking he would see my bare floors and think I hadn't made an effort. But then, the vendor finally showed up... with a carpet that was completely different from the design I had chosen! I was angry.

At that point, I was so fed up with her excuses and delays that I just collected the carpet and spread it across my room. I didn't even bother to argue or ask for a refund. I just wanted the whole ordeal to be over. But when my dad saw the carpet, he was annoyed too. "You should have gone to the market yourself," he said, shaking his head.

I knew he was right. I should have taken control of the situation instead of relying on an unreliable vendor. But I had trusted her, and look what happened! Now I'm using a carpet that doesn't even match my room's color.
My dad's visit was still great, despite the carpet wahala. We spent quality time together, and he even helped me arrange my furniture.

I still feel a bit annoyed. But I'm also grateful for my dad's support and wisdom. And, at least my room is finally complete... even if it's not exactly what I had asked for

Be a Blessing

‘One morning, I woke up to find my neighbor's children drinking garri with salt in the compound.
They saw me and greeted me.
"Uncle good morning."
The last born shouted. "Uncle come and eat."
Playfully I walked to them. "What are you eating?"
"Gmax." The firstborn replied.
The rest of the children laughed.
"You mean Garri?"
"Uncle this is not garri, it is GMax. A kind of snack."
I chuckled. I told them to bring me a spoon let me join them. They raised their head and looked at me. They were shocked. The second born touched the last born and said. "Go and bring spoon for Uncle. Uncle wants to eat GMax snacks."
The boy ran in and returned with a spoon.
As I took a spoon, that was when I realized the Garri was not with Sugar but with salt. The children started laughing. I paused for a while and swallowed.
"Uncle, so you use to eat GMax snacks too." The last born asked. I nodded my head. I told him I am a professional in Gmax garri. Their mother who heard the laughter came out of the room and saw me.
She was smiling. "Uncle, you seff dey drink garri."
I told her I decided to join my younger brothers to eat.
She smiled. "Eya. Today wey we no get better food to cook except garri, na that time you come chop."
I chuckled. "Madam, God know say na my favourite food na im make He make me see am to chop today."
The last born laughed.
"Uncle like Gmax o."
I told her that after eating, I and my younger brothers(her children) would go out and buy noodles for breakfast. She laughed. The boys were excited. They began to rush the garri so that it would finish quickly.
When we were done drinking Garri, I took the boys out and I bought a carton of noodles for them.
When the mother saw her children carrying a carton into the house, she became emotional.
She said to me. "Uncle, this is the first time I will have anything in a carton in my house. See how God take bless her children." I handed her money that would be enough to cook two pots of soup for the week.
The first child held my hands and said.
"Uncle, Thank you."
He beckoned on the brothers to come say thank you.
The last child ran and embraced me. Then he said.
"Uncle... Uncle... In the afternoon you will come and eat GMax with us again ba. We would put sugar inside for you." I tried hard to hold back my tears.
Before you look down on that meal God has provided you to eat, remember that there are people who do not have up to that standard. Be grateful and contented.’

Wasted Life

Wasted Life
Based on a true-life story. There was a young lady named Ruth, she was born into a wealthy family. Her parents had six children, one male and five females, she was the fifth. Ruth never lacked, not even for once in her life, because of the wealthy family she happened to be born into, hence, never struggled for anything in her life, a fertile land to kick off on.

She attended a very expensive boarding secondary school, money was never her problem. On one occasion, her father had caught her with a guy in a bar during school hours, far away from the boarding school. Everybody wondered how and why she will sneak out of boarding school to meet a guy. She spent her secondary school days clubbing and partying, with the huge amount of money her father sends to her consistently. Ruth used to receive bunch of strokes from the parent and the elder siblings because of her reckless living, still she didn’t care. Her WAEC was nothing to write home about as she failed woefully. She had to register for the examination again the following year, in a school where examination malpractice reigned supreme, and that’s how she passed.

Ruth was sent to the university to read computer science, and as usual, she did not take it seriously. Seven years in the university and she has not still graduated from a four years course, everyone became tired of pushing her and gave up on her. All her siblings had graduated, and some were married, including the last born, but she had nothing to show forth. Her father was super worried and disappointed. She told her father about a one-year professional computer science course in Lagos, collected a huge sum of one million naira and left. Unknown to them, she took the money to go and start up a business with her boyfriend in another town. She soon got pregnant and made it known to her family, that she won’t be coming home and that she is with the man she wants to marry. You can sense the bitterness in her father, but she didn’t care.

One year after Ruth gave birth, changes began to set in; her boyfriend got a new girlfriend and brought her to the house to live with them. Ruth objected and the boyfriend emptied her bank account, collected everything she had and sent her out of the house without anything, not even her phone. She managed to find her way back home, but was rejected. Heavy depression and frustration came on her to the extent that she had a critical mental problem, she became half mad and refused to eat. Stayed in one position for days, crying always, and narrating her story to whoever cared to listen. Slimmed down as the days go by, and before anyone knew it, her light was out, Ruth died. A life that had all what it takes to be one of the best, wasted miserably by the life owner. She was warned, but she refused to heed to it, and ended like she never existed.

If only parents knew

They walked in, these three young girls. 16, 18 and 19 respectively. Pretty smart and vibrant. Eloquent and brilliant in their spoken English. I was still attending to them when the youngest spoke up. I want to become a banker one day, I want to be in a building with bright lights, AC and beautiful designs. I want to be putting on suits while my shoe knocks on the floor. I raised my head and looked at her, I gave her a good smile and returned to what I was doing. The other two said they want to be a doctor and Architect.
"You all have valid dreams, if you work hard and with the help of your parents, you can be whatever you wish you be if you are determined." I encouraged them.
The excitement on their faces faded away and wondered what just happened.
"But we don't have parents, we are from orphanage homes." The youngest one said. It melt my heart. I couldn't continue what I was doing, I dropped the pen and faced them. "See, girls, you are amazing, you have survived what many couldn't, you are stronger than most people in the world because you are able to fight the battles of life from birth till this age and you are still strong, many of us with parent wouldn't have made it without our parents, but you did it without yours. Don't think you are alone in this world and don't think you don't have parents, the good people who brought you up and took care of you are your parents, people who took their time to make sure you are fine are your parents, love and appreciate them. As for your dreams, chase it, fight till the end and one day, you will realize you've achieved all you wished for." They nodded as I spoke to them and it restored back their bright faces.
The eldest one asked. "Are you from orphanage home too?" I smiled. "It doesn't matter my dear, what matters is that we are all human and we are all loved by God. "Thank you sir!" They chorused and they left when I was done with them. I watched them as they left. I felt a bit cold. I have never met a person from an orphanage home before, it was my first time. I know there are many stories behind their existence but for the ones who abandon their child and left, only if they know how grown their babies are now with the kind of dreams they are carrying.
This life sha.

The Shear Road

The Shear Road
I remember when I was still preparing to write jamb, my parents enrolled me in a jamb class which starts by 4pm and ends by 6pm on a daily basis, excluding Sundays. Since it was not so far from home, I used to trek to the jamb and trek back home, and at times it will already be 7pm before I get home.

There is this narrow and long path my parents used to be very pissed off with, the path was known as ‘shear road’. The path was always very quiet with no houses around and you barely see people in it. My mother used to warn my siblings and I not to use that path, even in the day time, except we’re walking together with group of people. But as for the night, even if you’re walking with 50 people, my mother won’t still approve any of us to use the shear road.

Initially I used to say that she’s just stressing too much about the shear road and there might not be anything cruel related to it. She will counter by giving stories of the negative happenings she heard about the path, it will say it’s just mere stories and there is no evidence of who ever had been a victim of that lonely road. Even then, I had never for once used that path in the night, only in the day time, and with friends.

One day, I had a cartoon series, named ‘Dragon Ball Z’ that I really wanted to watch on startimes decoder, and the series was to start by 5:30pm and end by 6:30pm. I really wanted to watch that episode and wished I could skip the jamb class that day, but I couldn’t. I went for the class, and immediately it was 6pm, I packed my things and started running home to catch up with the remaining half of the already started episode. And then I came across the shear road, a very shortcut to get home faster, and without thinking I took the path. I was still running when two guys immediately stepped out of the bush and stood in front of me, it was too late for me to stop immediately and I ran into them and they felled to the ground, including me. I stood up before them, and this time, with adrenaline pumping through my veins, I ran like Flash, without looking back and with my school bag firmly held in my arms. I know I ran very fast, because my vision was blurred and the only thing I could hear was the faint shout from the two guys, “hey stop there, I will shoot you, oboy hey!”. I didn’t stop, I ran with all the strength I had till I got home.

I was so tired, sat down in front of the house and panting aggressively, checked myself to confirm if I was still intact, good thing the smart phone my parents bought for me was still in my pocket, the phone was barely a month old and I would have been dealt with if I had lost it. Whether those guys were truly with gun or not, I was home safely and vowed never to set my foot on that road. Entered the house and saw that the cartoon series I risked my life to run home and watch just ended as 6:30pm clocked, what a waste. I should have heed to my mother’s instruction about that road, good thing I’m safe and so are my properties. Till date, I have not told my parents about that incident, for the fear of being scolded for going against their orders.

MUM:A PRICELESS JEWEL

MUM:A PRICELESS JEWEL
Growing up,I faced a life different from what other kids faced. While growing up without a mother,I passed through a miniature of hell but my dad tried to play both roles which was not possible.

Like kids of my age, I got enroll into a school which I later discover it was not for me. I mean parents especially mothers will come pick their children while I will be picked by my dad's driver.

I really missed my mom that sometimes I starve myself and cry my eyes out but nothing happened. I accepted life the way it came and continued with my life still with the sadness of not having a mother.

A day came I became fed up and decided to confront my dad, my dad for some reasons did not want to tell me about my mom. But after much persuasion I was told my mom gave up for me to survive after I was put to birth

It broke me so hard, knowing that my mom died because of me. The love was priceless and I regret I couldn't payback.
Your mom is priceless, don't tread her for anything

Birthday at Home

I celebrated my birthday yesterday, and my twin sister's. After church, we went home and I made hot tea and had it with bread.

Later, our elder brother surprised us by sending us 20,000 naira. Our dad added some money, and our younger brother also contributed 20,000 naira. We wanted to use the money to cook a special meal at home. But our dad had a different plan. He insisted that we go out and enjoy the day with him. So, we went to a bar with our parents.

At the bar, we had a delicious meal of goat meat pepper soup and rice. It was so tasty! We had a great time together as a family, laughing and sharing stories. Our dad even sang a happy birthday song for me, and everyone in the bar joined in. I felt so loved and appreciated. We also took lots of photos to capture the memories.

I'm grateful for my family's love and support. They made my birthday special and memorable. I feel blessed to have such a wonderful family who always come together to celebrate special occasions. We don't always get to spend quality time together, but yesterday was an exception. It was a day filled with joy, love, and laughter.

We had a wonderful time at the bar, laughing and chatting. I honestly can't wait to celebrate many more birthdays with them.
